I've lurked here off and on for maybe a year or so Same thing I did before I finally started posting on SRK a few year back. But now I'm playing more NRS games especially now with Injustice and as a result I've been posting here more often.

Since I've been here I've seen nothing but bitching about x or y character and a complete lack of personal accountability for your own play in the TYM culture. I'm not saying it's everyone and I'm not saying it's any different from the rest of the internet but it's sad to see it's so rampant here and IDK if this is a dead horse I'm beating but yeah thats my speil. I just feel bad for the mods around here who have to clean up threads that are made to look legit but are really just people mass greifing over there losses to z character or x mechanic they dont like its sad.

... though I admit you have a "foal"-ish view of us, that's more our fault for showing you the ugly side.
I don't wanna "go-at" the idea of it, but you shouldn't "kid" yourself over it. We are indeed better than that.
I'm sure if you take a closer "gander", you'll see more than a "goose-egg" of personality and friendliness.
"Neigh", you may even find us to be borderline hot-to-"trot" over bringing you in as one of us.

I don't know what you "herd" or saw, but don't be "sheep"ish about coming forth and really embracing the community.
The game is still new, people will complain. Let it all blow over, and soon you'll find this place to be "pun" in a million.

Go to any character forum with threads that pertain to actually improving or learning and you'll see a different side. Everyone likes to bitch like little girls and provide their 2 cents and it's much easier to do than put time in training mode learning, figuring out matchups, helping others, asking questions, etc. But it is there, it's not all bad(like everything in life).

Well I think it's an issue for a few reasons.

One is that like MK this seems like a fairly counter pick heavy game and some matchups are going to be very hard to win.

Two is that some characters who are more specialized feel overmatched by the characters who can function at all ranges (Superman, Aquaman, Black Adam) and if you're playing a character who you like it can be difficult to justify sticking with them.

Three is that this game as a descendent of MK and a game with low-ish execution and a popular comic book license is going to be picked up by a large audience who are going to be unfamiliar with the intricacies of fighting games and find tactics that are powerful to feel insurmountable.

Four is that the netcode is terrible and while I feel that there is nothing unbeatable offline, in the environment of the input delay ridden netcode there are strategies that are pretty abusive and depending on the delay virtually guaranteed. This can translate into people (often the same people who swear the game has playable netcode) saying that certain things are unbeatable and getting an audience who have only experienced competitive play online to agree.

So yeah cost of being a popular game really.

Oh I definitely see a lot of positive contribution which to me is one of the reasons it's so sad because this community generates a lot of content like people are bitching about not having answers or damage or whatever while there are smart players posting stuff all day. To me it's almost disrespectful to both the site that publishes vids and puts them right on the front page for everyone to see, as we'll as the person who did the write up or recorded the vid, to just jump past all that content right into the forum and start moaning. Not to mention NRS who people just assume are idiots as soon as they get hit by something and don't like it.

To be fair.. Most of the komplaining komes from new members of the site, not long time members.

As one of the biggest culprits of "character bitching" (at least in terms of DLC) I dunno man I just like talking about comic book characters. TYM is not a razor-edged blender of dicks like comic book forums are.

I don't actually contribute to the gameplay topics much because other people here do that better than me, but I do read/learn from them. Character talk is basically what I do when I'm not playing the game. I am also horrendously under-qualified to judge what is 'broken' so I stay away from that.

All of the complaining is coming from scrubs that limit themselves.

This site is for people who are competitive or are trying to be.

Welcome to TYM. To be fair I think this place has been this way for a while before Injustice. Injustice just makes it worse with it's DLC hype wagon, just as bad as MK. The difference is that the way Injustice does it feels so gimmicky b/c it brings out all sorts of random people.


I do miss MK, hindsight is 20/20.

TBH I dont even use him, I like him as a character but didnt like his playstyle and how hard it is to combo off jump ins.

I have 3 gripes to give.
1. Older members, stop being fucking assholes to newbies. We were all there once. It is our job to help guide them, not call them idiots for trying to contribute. Remember the difference between arguing and yelling.

2. Your experiences in life, and in games are completely different. I wont eat at panda express because I found a big ass staple in my noodles. You probably never found a staple in your panda express. Just because you havent seen a glitch on a certain stage "Even though you have played it a lot" doesn't mean it is not a problem.

3. Think of a patch like, well a clothing patch. Not a skyscraper construction site. Minecraft recently released an update. In that update. A new glitch started. when zombies take damage from being outside in the day (they catch on fire during daytime) each time they take damage they have a chance to spawn another zombie in the sky which then catches on fire too, spawning more zombies. Pretty crazy chain reaction that grows exponentially over time. Keep that in mind, as they did not change anything about zombies, this was a side effect from something else they changed, and probably was casued by FIXING something else. Programming is hard. Really really hard. So next time you want something to be in a patch, think for a minute of exactly how much you are asking for because really most of the time what you are really asking is this. "Hey will you add 300,000 lines of code into the game that potentially will break everything else please?"

Ahh.. You lost respect points for that.... lol.

I don't jump much in this game, despite how weak anti-airs generally are.. Haha. I should probably jump more....

PS: I don't think he's an easy character to use. I kinda like that since it makes it so rewarding to use him and win.
