Yay, first post here. But anyways, lets get to Batgirl. Now, I'll start off by saying I am not happy with her inclusion as a character (was rooting for her as a skin though), but I'm not here to whine about it as I know that whining and complaining typically solve nothing. Were there characters I would've preferred? Definitely *cough MMH Black Canary *cough*. But it is what it is so I'm gonna learn to deal with it. Its not the first time I've been disappointed with a DLC choice, so I'm used to dissapointment. But heres the thing with Batgirl. Since I can get past the fact shes in, its all about the gameplay that determines whether or not I like her. Now I am not really worried she'll be a clone since I know NRS can do similar characters with different playstyles. But even if she is a bit similar, it wouldn't matter to me since I expected her to be somewhat like Batman.

Thinking about why NRS would do this to us, there are some logical answers. Besides Boon being the master troll he is, this was done for an obvious reason. MONEEYYY$$$$$$$. I'm not saying other characters wouldn't have sold more or less, I'm just saying that there are some pretty solid chances of Batgirl selling quite a bit due to her appeal to casuals. Whether or not she was a popular choice will ultimately be determined by her sales, which is the fairest way to say if people really like her inclusion or not. Personally, like I said earlier, its all in the gameplay for me that decides if I buy her. Even though I might get her anyway since I am one of those people who feel that their fighting games are not complete without every single character.

Lets look at the positives and the negatives of Batgirl and this overall DLC situation.
Pros
1. If she and the rest of the DLC sell well, the chances of them making a 2nd season pass are higher
2. If they do decide to make more characters, we already know that they got a few of the more disliked or lesser known ones out of the way (IK Batgirl is only mostly hated here and a few other places, I'm just speaking about this place) meaning a higher chance of more fan requested characters.
3. Getting a new character in general is always a pro to me

Negatives
1. This literally means Batman characters make up 25% of the full roster (7/28). I get Batman is popular now, but I don't think he deserves this much representation...
2. Potential Batman clone. I already said I'm not worried too much about this being the case though.
3. She basically is making the whole "leaked" DLC roster look even more realistic

To end things, I'll give my thoughts on how opinions on Batgirl are divided. I think a majority of people here hate her inclusion. I think Tournament players don't care or will buy her anyway as they will buy her anyway just to know the matchups. Casuals will probably buy her or not really hate her since you know, Batman sells these days. Comic fans are probably a mix with the hate being based on how their are better choices and the like being based around their love for Batgirl's comics.

TLDR; My first post, I gave my opinions on Batgirl, what I think the current situation is, and how I think things will end up. I'm not a Batgirl hater just opposed to her being a character, and I'm not gonna cry about it anymore (might even buy her) and I think this can go a number of ways. *hesitantly posts this in fear of the hatred I might earn from it*

I'm liking this post. An excellent well thought-out post which intelligently analyzes the situation at hand. I applaud you good sir.

Just because that was your first post, I decided to read it. If they're already in the process of releasing more characters after the first season pass, then they're not going to stop. They don't have the time to look at the sales, then design new characters (which takes about 2 months), before the deadline in August.

And this is not hatred. You have not seen my hatred for some people on these forums...

u know what i love about Superman? the fact that he wears glasses and somehow becomes unrecognizable bahahaha
I've heard fan theories that it's alien tech left over from his world that makes him look different when he puts them on and since Clark has them on at all times...

His glasses hide his unique kryptonian eye color, he uses big clothes to not look so buff, he hunches over a little, combs his hair different and has been seen with superman thanks to martian manhunter

This was good and stuff but 1 thing - there is NO character that will sell as much as MMH would in the DLC... and i am not saying this coz he is my favorite charcter, i am saying this coz it's true :p

wut. Freddy was accepted as garbage-ass-garbage until people played him and saw how good he was. If Batgirl follows the formula Black Adam/Sinestro followed and turns out to be totally separate from Batman, I'll bet everything that she will be accepted the same way.
i hate it but even i am considering buying her if she has nice gameplay - those things on her hands look cool lol

Glad you finally feel that way.
Glad you stopped insulting me ;)
I am not a hater on Batgirl (actually i hate more the idea of Zod being a seperate character and Scorpion being in Injustice in general more) some Batgirl fans like Morbid and Mulder really helped me not to be angry about Batgirl anymore :D And again also the fact that those things around her arms LOOK BADASS lol
