I wasn't trying to be. I was just being blunt. He has no outright way around the zoning. But again, doesn't really need it with his dash speed.

So again, like I said, if it doesn't sound like your cup of tea...probably should look into another character for the matchup. No shame in that.

Went through the character forums MU threads and updated the OP. Anything I missed in other threads, let me know.

Okay, so I played my friend's Hawkgirl today, and I'm going to say this: Only keepaway Hawkgirl has a good matchup against Nightwing. If Hawkgirl tries to rush him down, then Nightwing bodies her. She HAS to play keepaway. And even then it's merely a matter of patience. You can catch her, just don't stay in staff too much and you'll be fine.

Why would Hawkgirl try to rush him down without a proper angle or punish? That'd be stupid.

And you're right, it is a matter of patience but the thing is that she can get by on patience a LOT more than Nightwing can. It comes down to who commits the first big mistake but she has a lot of leeway for that. Nightwing does not.

I'm just saying Nightwing's got better buttons. She can't completely disrespect what he has. I do agree with what you're saying though, she has no reason at all to go in. Idk though, it doesn't seem too too bad in the long run. Definitely can see it being his worst matchup though. No one can stick to the skies like her.

Nightwing for the most part does have better buttons but she doesn't have to respect them if she plays the matchup right. The way NW is going to win this match is if he stays out of the corner, or picks a stage that has a way from him to get out of it if he ends up there. But even with those two things met you're still in for an uphill battle.

where can i find some doomsday matchup advice? im having trouble stopping him when he's in the air. what can i do with the unblockable dive in staff stance? bf3?

Don't know if you have no bars, I think his dash is too slow to avoid it.
Most of the cast can avoid it by dashing forward and can easily punish it then, think Nightwing can only do it in his Escrima stance.

So far, Cyborg looks like a very hard matchup for NW. Cyborg out zones him really well, especially if he does instant air fb. Some things ive tried to do is use wingdings and db3 in escrima to get through fb. Staff gets destroyed :(. Does anyone have any tips against him?

Well Cyborg zones damn near everyone hard if they've mastered IANB. Good fucking luck getting in on him in that case. If they haven't, or they slip up, have to take advantage somehow. Escrima at far is preferred. Wing Dings will actually be helpful and we're going to need the speed to dash in on his ass. Once in, make it hurt with both Escrima and Staff.

MU knowledge is going to be tough to glean though since there aren't many competent Cyborg's yet.

Random notes against green arrow. At full screen dash carefully and slowly make your way in. If you get hit by his fire or electric arrows you get pushed back quite a bit. As you make your way in keep an eye on his trait icon. When he runs out he might try and switch. If your in range you can punish with b2. When he switches to his ice arrow he generally wants to starts pressure. f2d13 is probably his best string and assuming the frame data in the game is accurate its safe. The second hit hits low and last is an overhead. I generally stick to staff stance once I get in to pressure and outrange his strings. His f213 string puts you in good spacing for standard 1f staff pressure. His only decent wakeup option I believe is his db3. GA mostly spends meter on either pushblocking or his resets using his super. If he follows up after his super you can clash but the one I play against just uses b3 b3. He has some solid anti airs so don't get predictable jumping. He can jump and shoot down using his trait for an overhead so look out for that. Don't end combos with j3xxwingding because that puts him far away and he can start his zoning stuff. Thats about it for now. I would give this a 5-5 or 6-4 in NW's favor. Hope I can help someone out with this.

I don't feel like NW needs to respect Green Arrow's zoning much when he is in staff stance. Once GA blocks one ground blast he loses the zoning war. NW can hit him out of the start-up of arrows at that point. I can usually punish his loads on reaction with mb ground blast. Once he is forced to come to you, he struggles against staff pokes. GA does have good mix-ups if he gets close to you. That has been my experience at least.

What's Dick's best gameplan against Lex? Staff seems to be great until Lex has meter and loops weapons lock (haven't tested it thoroughly, but seems impossible to jump out of while in staff). Also going against Lex's J3 seems difficult for NW with no real AA other than his own J3. Traversing the field when Lex has his traps setup also seems to be a real chore for him.

Try using Flying Grayson to get to him if he doesn't have Armor up.

But I do not know that matchup for shit.

Hi everyone, i'm new to test your might.
To start off, I'm having trouble with batman, I guess it has to do with his annoying pressure game with his bats, he just rushes me down and goes nuts. Pushblock helps a lot but it is still a pain, how do you guys think i should play this MU?

Does anyone know how to go about the Shazam match-up? I just got boned by a Shazam player online and he kept winning every jip/k and no matter which way I tried - I couldnt AA him!

Considering our difficulty with AAs in general I wouldn't suggest trying to do so to begin with.

Wow - So I guess you get no real reward for blocking correctly then! I didn't really think of back dashing - but I'm also not sure if his back dash is that great when in staff stance..

It's not in staff, distance is so short and he recovers very slowly.

So I've been playing NW vs Doomsday and NW's escrimas can avoid his Supernova with ease by dashing forward and gets a rewarding punish. However it's not that easy in staff...
In staff you only have one viable option and that is flying grayson at the right moment, right before Doomsday is going to hit you. You do not get a punish from this. Other options I've been playing with are J2 and J3, I can AA Doomsday sometimes but if I do it's mostly a trade with a slight favor to DD when it comes to damage. It's not a viable option, only flying grayson.

So if you have meter, be prepared to B3 MB that SOB.
