Well yeah, when Tom Brady goes on stream and says, "Yeah...if Nightwing gets in, you're probably just going to have to pushblock", that's probably a good indicator that everyone's in for a good dicking. Spending a meter just to breathe...lol.

Though people should really not have needed Tom Brady to say that to already know this.

I'm not sure if this has been discovered yet, so let me know if I'm late on this one.

For any grounded interactable you can input 4+interact and nightwing will instantly change stances as he does the interactable. Anytime you go to do a ground interactable you now have the option to change stances for free and save yourself those frames. You can also do this AND meter burn the interactable so you're inputting 4+interact+MB.

I wonder if there's any combo potential in this.

EDIT: I believe what's happening is the stance change is being cancelled by the interact, so it's not really 4+interact but rather 4xxinteract very quickly. It's almost instant if switching to escrima, but there is slight delay if switching to staff.

I do believe if they are blocking low the last hit misses and leaves you open for punish.

I may be mistaken.
You're probably right, but that's where conditioning comes in. You can train your opponent to start blocking you high to set that up. Frame trap and poking characters like Nightwing are built around forcing people into mistakes and thinking they're safe when they're really not. Or just hitting them where they're not blocking. Making someone block the way you want them to is just as important in as hitting them. Especially in a game where everything does chip and like everything Nightwing lets you continue pressure for free. For example, let them know that if they keep ducking, especially near the wall, they'll lose that health real quickly to some 1f1 confirms. Then you mindfuck 'em by doing that chip setup so they just go, "Dayum, can't block low or my ankles get free'ed up, can't block high or I get chipped to death. What do I do?" Simple answer is pushblock obviously, but I'm okay with them spending resources on getting me off them. That's less meter they'll have for combos, wagers, and armored attacks later on. Which is another dilemma they have in and of itself.

Erm, I think anyone is able to react to a staff spin and duck it...
Anyway, the MB staff spin isn't a high, you can't duck it

On a side note, I m sorry to inform my fellow dicks that the escrima db3 doesn't cross up in the corner if the opponent is blocking high
It can still work as a wake up option though

It does, except with a few strings it switches them back around allowing you to do a corner combo.

I just tested it again, if you record Nightwing doing a cross up db3 in the corner, you just have to block normally and Nightwing won't cross up
Even if I do a string before, even if I do it directly, even if I do it after the u3 to exploit the collision issue

So, am I missing something ? you seem very confident :]

What character are you testing it on? It won't cross-up on a few characters like Bane, Black Adam, Solomon Grundy and Sinestro.

I know that, if you take these characters as dummy and you try to do a bf3, you will land in front of them (well at least with grundy, I think there are some different issues for the others)
But that happend only when you are doing a classic training, like taking grundy as dummy, putting him in the corner and go for a db3, that's not what I talking about

I was testing on Nightwing himself

Tested it as well. Your right. It doesnt cross up on any string i found or by itself.

Also tested if you can avoid the last hit of MBdb3 on duck, you cant. For some reason I thought you could too. Tested both on Nightwing

it surprises me how many people think MB staff spin can be ducked. lol i dont know why considering the move say MIDMIDMIDMIDMIDMIDMID . any who i was thinking about making a list of all the characters that escrima db3 crosses up, and what strings cross them up aswell (easiest example is doing b1 db3)

EDIT : also i would like to point out that because of the meter build on staff spin, if you only had about 2 bars and them in the corner, then you can just spin staff MB twice, then do something like 1f1 db2MB and if they get hit you have just done about 50% from them blocking and the small combo off of db2MB

this also has great applications in the wager mind games. why send meter to keep the opponent from gaining health back in a wager? they blow there meter and gain back 33% you can just chip them for 40% for free AND get a mix up opportunity.

Apologies if this has already been answered here...but there are 18 pages... lol.
What is Nightwing's best option on wake up in either stance to get people off of you?

To my understanding he doesn't have many great options on wake up. MB Flip kick maybe or just blocking. Could be wrong though.
