Goro Lives
As we all know there's chip damage in this game --one of the traits inherited from the Mortal Kombat legacy. The chip isn't too much (at least in the demo), it is just enough to deter a complete turtling / defensive gameplay from taking over the metagame; let's face it with no chip damage the game could evolve into a sort of cat-and-mouse game.
UPDATED
Chip damage however has an odd behavior when it comes to normal attacks, specially Light and Medium attacks. At times they appear to do chip damage (very little at that), and other it seems they don't chip at all. In fact, during some tests chip from Light and Medium attacks only took place after several repetions of basic strings like 11 or 22.
What is for certain is that Light and Medium attacks won't kill you with chip damage right off the bat. A Hard attack or a special move are requiered to do so with absolute certainty.
I need to look further into this to draw any firm conclusions.
