reminds me of when i played tyrant at nec. I noticed he doesn't tech every time he hit the ground. I purposely drop my combo and charge the unblockable. I know its tyrant and he is a gdlk player, but every player has a weakness some where that just needs to be scouted. When i play with j360, he techs every damn time he hits the ground, so this never works on him at all. Winning at fighting games really comes down to taking advantage of the other player.

This is how gimmicks can work hella hard.

Playing Reptile takes someone who isn't willing to think conventionally, because his playstyle is nowhere near conventional. When you stop worrying about how he sucks at playing the standard game, you'll actually start doing shit with the character.

Please enlighten me on exactly what Reptile can do against any character who is blocking on him for pressure. Also, when the fuck did the entire TYM community decide that playing like a scrub and dashing for your life in order to get 11% (and completely useless oki setups compared to what he normally gets on knockdown) in exchange for getting blocked and eating a full combo became the way to play this character. I'm seriously not going to talk about this anymore. I hope this character gets a top 8 soon, I want to be proven wrong so badly. I'm not going to talk about this character anymore however, enjoy getting blown up by a move that 90% of the cast that actually matters can punish easily.

Yup, if you take a risk and noticed it's not working well don't do it, adjust mid-game, I think going into a match scripted is just exposing yourself.

he is one of the most unorthodox reptiles i have ever had the pleasure to play. but he is smart about it. it is sometimes hard to tell what he is doing because you literally never seen this playstyle before. It also really looks like a reptile on crack, but the set ups work for a reason. Cossner understands reptile.

Reptile can't play this regular footsie game like just about every other character can because he doesn't have an actually dash. No way in hell is Reptile just going to saunter up to someone from jump distance with decent footsies and spacing.

I dont go into matches scripted unless i scout something, like against tyrant.
when i mention that i dont do this against j360, its because i see him tech everything. So i go in the match already knowing NOT to do this set up.

Again, you show a fundamental lack of understanding about Reptile's mechanics and have not said anything of substance or use of how to better Reptile.

Reptile dashes and force balls, that's what he does. Not an expert here, but, yeah, he's doing something right. Obviously works regardless of how you want to put it or not want to accept it.

REO throws out random Nomad Dash here and there, it's the same concept. Sometimes you just have to put out.

I'd rather deal with results than ifs, ands, or buts, in reality anything is possible. In perfect conditions, yeah, no character should ever be beating Kabal or Kenshi, I think that's what Bit is driving at, it's the ambiguous and surprise factor that matters.

Not a SF expert either, but, I was watching Infiltration play and the commentators were mind blown people were eating that overhead slap move he kept doing with Akuma, same thing for that time when he bodied everyone with Demons.
