On a completely different tangent -

I -really- hope they actually give all of the DLC characters voices and such this time around. Getting iconic personalities across is super important to being a successful comic book licensed game, imo.

So basically what NRS is saying here is "we'll give you Martian Manhunter for free if you agree to buy the other three characters."

It's the same thing they ended up doing for MK9's 360 players after their guest character fell through... I don't really care too much about MMH, but I really don't see why he wasn't in at launch.

This is also a good way of saying "hey, check out our DLC fastballs" if they're announcing a season pass before release. Which is cool. Getting these characters out faster will mean less of a splash in the metagame pretty early on. All of MK9's DLC characters were pretty good. Even if I don't end up playing them I doubt I'll feel ripped off by this.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be someone from comics and not Freddy again. As random as Freddy is he sort of fit in MK cause of the whole horrific deaths and demons from hell thing going on.

In justice case I'd imagine that even if it's someone random they'd choose someone from comics so it'd make some sort of sense.

I don't think they will- I think they better not put any off DC characters as DLC from any game movie or anything - DC has SUCH A VARIETY that putting another character is stupid

If they went the guest character route, which I hope they don't, the best case scenario, imo, would be Predator. He's popular, recognizable, reaches a different audience, has the look and gameplay of a fighting game/comic book character, and has actually had a crossover with Batman and the JLA a few times before:

Also anyone want to speculate on the characters based on shoddy shadows? We're usually quite good at that.

I don't think we can, I think they're just place holder shadows and not their real body shape. Freddy had a place holder shadow in the 4DLC fighter promos for MK9 and Boon said they had to do that cause if they made the shadow his real shape we'd know who it is just by looking.

I wouldn't really bother. Not only are they likely just placeholder silhouettes, but I've seen silhouettes heavily modified to remove notable and distinguishing features in the past so people don't immediately guess the characters.

Happened when Marvel was revealing their Secret Avengers relaunch.

They did the same with Freddy when MK9 had the 4th mystery DLC fighter promos going. Boon said if they used his real shape the hat and claws would have given him away.

Seems to be the MK DLC formula - which would mean we'll be seeing the DLC characters one at a time this summer. NRS should consider a "second season" of DLC if sales are good. Would be tight to get a new batch of characters in the winter too.
