MK2 Tournament - Shao Kahn's Treasure Quest w/ $300 in Cash & Prizes!

This can be done in one night i think you guys need to change the rules just a suggestion. In reality, most matchs last around about 50 secs a round right? So on average maybe about 2 3mins a matchs. It should be best out of 5 so 1st to 3. Only when you lose should you have to switch to a different tier. From my caculations and adding it up we have enough time. It really depends on the availability of everybody and the time tournament starts. I think this is a good assest to add to the rules and regulations anybody disagree?

STORMS, is it possible to just make this a regular thread again? Looking at these miniature comments all throughout is making my eyes hurt.

I think we should leave the rules as they are. 17 players expect to play the tourney as outlined. Though there is probably enough time, I kinda like the current setup. We could save new ideas for the next tournament. I might change my mind only if MKillBill urges me to reconsider. Only way. Later.

Personally, I like the format as is. If it's going to be a true elimination style matchup, then it should be done as originally planned. I agree, we can experiment with changing the format next time.

I think 4 matches gives a player with less skill a better chance at upsetting an elite player. You start playing 7+ matches with some of these powerhouses and they'll have you figured out pretty quick. My best chance against someone like Caldwell is within 5 or 6 matches. After that, might as well go watch a movie or something, lol. But vryone's different. Just my opinion.

You DO only have to switch tiers when you lose. If you start with Sub-Zero and never lose with him, you keep Sub-Zero while you opponent keeps using a higher tier until they lose with their top tier player.

Double elimination would be nice. Really, anyone could be out after only 4 matches.
Plus, despite having 18 entrants, there are always a couple people that no-show.

We will explore double elimination on the day of the tournament. As you pointed out, it depends on the number of no shows.

Just skimmed through, hopefully you guys don't start changing the tournament. At the end of the day it's for fun not a penis measuring contest.

Anyway I need to get practicing, haven't played since the last tournament and I think I did ok.

I agree, the format is awesome, it doesn't need tampering.

Double elimination would just be more fun for everyone I think, coz you could be lose in about 3 minutes and be done. At least with double elimination, you have to follow what's going on with the tournament, to see who you play next in the Loser's Bracket etc.

Thank you it would defiently make the tourment more interesting you might even get more people to join by changing the rules. I mean cmon now most of you guys are acting like #$%#$ to me because i know i can beat most of you guys. I'm very competive and this is a tournment involving $ but at the same time i want to enjoy myself while competing for this tournment win or lose.

Double elim would be the only change I could support. To get smoked by BTBB and be out of the competition before I could finish a beer would be sucky. On the other hand, single elim forces you to play your best right away. Shao would be more impressed with that I'd think. But MKillBill can decide.

I don't know where you got the impression that anyone was acting like #$%#$ towards you. We just wanna make sure it remains a one nighter because tournaments hardly ever finish if they go past one night.

I'll play no matter the format, but the way it is now seems really cool.

Obviously if there are 30 entrants, double elimination isn't an option.
But 10-15... seems reasonable.

As long as it can be done in one night, I'll play any format. It doesn't matter to me. It'll be fun no matter what.

I think Kensi had an alt called Davidlopan, or something like that. Anyway, invite whoever you want, I'm all for it. Just be sure they know that they have to post here in order to be officially entered.

freemefromcrabs is probably an alt of someone who is already signed up. Most of the players you will meet in the lobby are already signed up and using alts because our regular tags invite too much trolling from Zippy/ Girard/ Sinister ect...
