I'm still gonna see it as a fan of Superman but my expectations are low.
Sadly, mine are too. I'm a glass half full kind of guy too, but I don't know about this movie. It has a great cast and crew but I'm still skeptical. Hopefully it will be awesome though.:)

Im betting this game will have a decent world following like MK9 did. I doubt it will reach KoF levels of "the world's game" but it will be good.

It just depends on the quality of the game. And the features Injustice will have will make it worth playing even if the game isn't that good. Being able to test tactics and strategies ONLINE AND OFFLINE is bigger of a deal than most people realize. It will level up the Injustice community VERY quickly so that the level of play in 1 year would be like the level of play in MK9 now. Other than that, I think it will be most popular in 'Murica like MK9.

I think quality would be good, I assume, it can't be any worse than MK9.

I think a bigger question would be if Injustice will retain the same South American following that Mortal Kombat seems to have always had.
Chile, Argentina, and Brazil always have their own MK rooms online.
Let's say the U.S. represents 65% of MK's sales. Europe would be 15% or so, and South America would be 20%.
Mortal Kombat is huge down there.
We must wonder if their players are Mortal Kombat purists, or are informed enough to know about Injustice being just as wonderful as MK, and will buy IGAU for that reason.

I'm honestly really concerned about Mexico. I don't think there will be much of a competitive scene at all. I'll be here though.
Why not? Have you seen the way those guys play KoF XIII? Those dudes got some skill and if a guy like Bala showed up for some Injustice it'd be a serious throwdown. Hell get Mad KOF in there with him and run back the Mexico vs Korea hype that KoF XIII got last year in the Injustice tourney!

...

Okay I've been playing more KoF XIII and I can't stop thinking of how hype it is to play and watch. Seriously though, Mexico has a helluva scene for FGC so if the game is there it'll be played so long as they don't ignore it for more KoF XIII grinding.

I'm pretty jealous of Europe's collector edition. A better statue and tin case? Fuck that, you can have the numbers give the the goodies! :REO
you guys got the awesome Book ends for MK9 and we got a crappy statue, it's our turn! haha

Title speaks for itself... I'd love to see more players from across the globe get in to Injustice/NRS' game. Do you think the game will be big in other parts of the world - anything close to SF in Japan or other countries?
No offense mate, but that is a stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid question.

Obviously the game will have more fans in America. Why?

1. NRS is an american developer, so it's debatable if as many asian people will know about them and be into them as americans.
2. MK9 - basically the game that started it all for NRS in terms of the hype for Injustice - is indicated in some countries, like for example in mine. We have to import the game and even that we're not able to play it online, because it's restricted.
3. The most important reason: I can give you England, but besides England (and even England is doubtful) there are not many people in Europe who are as much into superheroes as the americans are.
I live in Germany and 7-8 out of 10 people won't know who Captain America is, even though the movie ran few months ago in the cinema.
Yes, Superman and Batman are more famous, but germans don't care that much about superheroes. Unfortunately most of the germans are rather into animes like Narutard and Bleach :-7 Unfortunately.

But we do have people who are playing fighting games and probably looking forward to Injustice as well, so I will have my opponents online for sure :)

Still, the americans will have the most hype around this game and the most tournaments / opponents and so on. Basically just like MK9.
But when it comes to other countries? Hell, no fucking chance. Superheroes are simply an amarican thing.

(AND I LOVE SUPERHEROES - grew up with them).

So we're the Batman flicks and the masses still flocked to it...

Honestly, and I don't like saying this, The Dark Knight piggy backed on the death of Heath Ledger. I don't think that movie would have been anywhere near as heralded as it is. Not saying it wouldn't have been successful, I'm just saying that I don't think people would be calling it the "greatest superhero movie ever". Then Rises just piggy backed off the Dark Knight bringing together the "greatest trilogy ever" while people forget how stilted Batman Begins was and the many problems Rises had.

You mean like a Batman movie that 90% of had no Batman in it...

It goes way beyond that, I've talked about it at length before but most of the problems I had were listed by Honest Trailers. Just look up their Dark Knight Rises one and you'll see the myriad of problems this film has.

I'lle do that when I get a chance, but IMO I enjoyed the Batman movies for what they were, it was an instresting take on it that went a lil outside the box than what had seen prior.

Around 90% of the people in the Mexican FGC were arcade players, with SNK games being the ones that have the largest fan base. Because back in the 90s, practically every pharmacy and store had at least two SNK arcades with one of them being KOF (to this day, two out of five stores have either a cabinet with MAME built in, a KOF 98/2002 exclusive or a gambling machine).

Street Fighter is famous as well and has always been praised. Even though, since Alpha 2, it was pretty difficult to find an arcade to play. And although SFIV never came out for the arcades in Mexico, it has the second biggest group of competitive players in the country.

The Capcom's vs. series have a big amount of fans too, but unlike KOF and SF, those games are considered broken material that only the Americans hype for (which is basically true)**.

On the other side, with the exception of the first two entries, MK has never been well received.
By the time Mortal Kombat 3 was released, people were playing Killer Instinct, KOF '94 or ST and never got their sight back into MK again. Because they either were expensive at the arcades* (MK3, UMK3, MK4) or too broken games that no one ever bought (MKDA, MKD, MKA, MKvsDC). And due to that prestigious fame previous MKs created, when MK9 was announced nobody was really excited about it (you could find copies of both the tournament and the collector's edition even eight months after its release, but it was impossible to get a copy of the collector's edition of both SFIV and MvC3 on day one, and not only that, pre-orders sold out in 3 days).

The competitive MK scene is really small in Mexico, and even if there have been 30 to 50 man tournaments; less than 15 people really support the game. To the point that some of the biggest events to take place, have had around 10 entrants. With that being said and NRS having the reputation it has, figure out how big the Injustice tournaments will be.

[Just to make it clear, Injustice's competitive scene won't be as large as you may believe. Not because Mexican players are bad (just take a look at what happened at Coliseo Versus. Combofiend got bodied in AE and mahvel, and went home without a place in top 16. Also, not for anything Mexico is considered one of the best -in my opinion the best- countries at KOF, only to compete against South Korea and Peru), but because they are not interested at all***]

*the average cost per game was 50 cents, while the cost to play MK3 was about 5 times more expensive.
** Unlike in the US, most SF players don't play Mahvel and KOF players are so elitists that will rarely play anything that's not KOF.
** *Is worth to mention that neither DC nor Marvel are as popular as Anime in Mexico (El libro vaquero> Memín Pinguín >Anime> Mahvel> DC).
