The key to balancing the game doesn't rely on which player you pick to do it. The fundamental game design itself doesn't allow complete balance. What's required to balance this game cannot be accomplished through a patch. I've said it before and I'll say it again. There needs to be move specific adjustable damage reset timers for every single move that exists in the entire game. You need to be able to adjust one particular move without having any impact on anything else. This has to be hard coded into the game so that when unrecognized applications that are obviously broken emerge after initial launch, they can be dealt with quickly and easily with absolutely no possibility for unforseen side effects. Do the same ting with frame advantage, startups, active frames, etc. etc. and every single little detail can be individually adjusted.

You could say that such a design isn't realistic, which may be true, but that's what's required.

Only with such a game build in place would I then consider turning to players for the specifics of the adjustments.

Not to mention I don't want some teenager with no job who lives in his mom's basement having any real input.

None this doesnt work unless the company hires the person on and has it in their contract that they are not to play the game competitively in tournament.

Lol@ check vanilla kung lao...nuff said.

Reo is probably the only person that has a good enough grasp on a majority of the cast and isnt openly biased. He would nerf kabal out of principle even if it meant he would have to switch mains.

i feel like if they are knowledgable but don't have tourney exp its just talk, but if someone can tell you its easy/broken and proceed to do it in front of a big crowd constantly; proving it is easy/broken, then it is a better arguement

EDIT: oh yeah banned from competing would be fun too once they agree to patch

Let's keep picking the people who have openly said they have zero interest in even entertaining the topic. That makes constructive threads... ?

I want balance as much as anyone, but yea this thread is stupid.

REO made a list awhile back, it was indeed fair and he removed the scrubby factors from some of the most known braindead characters.

The only acceptable answer is check since he actually has done QA and has the ability to identify problems. If I had to pick a top player who would be able to identify problems in a new environment and I was restricted to what is available in the poll I would give it to REO since he seems to put a ton of effort towards breaking stuff down. As for the rest of the people on the list I can confidently say I would do a much better job since I have working experience but I will just get shitted on for giving that honest opinion.

Just a slightly above average player.....
None because no top player thinks in balance they aim for the best chance to win.

but do you know the specifics? some things you will only know after having mained a character for a long period of time( a year or more). In another thread they suggested kung lao's spin should be nerfed to 8 frames, which would destroy the whole character. an 8 frame spin sounds fair unless you know the reason behind why the spin is 6 frames, after playing kung lao for a long period of time you will know the spin cant even be 1 frame slower because it will ruin how this character is supposed to be played. the people who suggested this were people who knew a lot about the game, but you can't know everything.
dnt need to know everything, i know i have experience in tournament with more chars than anyone, second i know mortal kombat very well, i'm not saying i'd do the patching for every character, but i'd know what should be kept, and what should get taken out. I'm very knowledgeable about the cast, hence why i pull out multiple chars every touranment/ real good at counterpicking.
