Question Which Top Player would you trust to balance MK9

I don't think anyone (not even NRS) has enough knowledge of the inner workings of this game to have the understanding necessary to balance the game.

Pretty much all of these players would have their own merits in contributing to making the hame better. They all have their flaws too, that's why it'd be a problem if it was left in one players hands.

More importantly though, this would only be viable if the player was restricted from entering major tournaments. Much like how Tekken has top Japanese players who work on balance but are not allowed to compete. That said I doubt any of the people listed above (except Check possibly) would be comfortable with that stipulation so this thread/pool is not something that would lead to any feasibile outcome.

What I don't understand is the designers thought process. They give some characters safe armored launchers and nothing to others. It just doesn't make sense and is bad game design.

I vote Tom Brady though.

Either tom or pig. Pig keeps it real with characters, and I feel like Tom understands what is actually going on in this game more so than the people winning the tournaments sometimes. He just has a really good idea about this game fundamentally.

i know the whole cast well enough, played over half of them in tournament haha, won with about 90 percent of chars i have used in tournament at least once.

Tim Static, man give us a chance man haha, but i understand what you mean, realistically speaking, we'd need a whole lot of ppl to balance this game properly, and definitely the mk vets like shock and etc. bcuz they have seen mk from the beginning to now, so they'd know what they are talking about.

but do you know the specifics? some things you will only know after having mained a character for a long period of time( a year or more). In another thread they suggested kung lao's spin should be nerfed to 8 frames, which would destroy the whole character. an 8 frame spin sounds fair unless you know the reason behind why the spin is 6 frames, after playing kung lao for a long period of time you will know the spin cant even be 1 frame slower because it will ruin how this character is supposed to be played. the people who suggested this were people who knew a lot about the game, but you can't know everything.

And everybody else who's made top 8 in a major event and is without bias and is not blind to balance.
For example: I do not play Sheeva or Kano nor do I care for them all that much but I believe that they deserve to get a chance at beating Lao and Kabal. I'm not a top player though. I'm just somebody who understands equal grounds in pvp games.

LMAO, I would never trust any player, top or not to balance a game. 1) There is too much emotion involved with people that actually play this game to rule out bias/focus on characters they know best when complete objectivity is required, 2) Having a deep knowledge of the game probably does not have a tremendous correlation to being a top player, but it probably does have a huge correlation to understanding what needs to be (or even is possible to be) balanced.

Gonna have to go with J360 Tom Brady and REO on this one. Each one of them has crazy potential of balancing a game to near perfection if you ask me.
