Tech Kitana Kombo Thread

There are three ways to do it:

1. Hit exactly d/b+1 then b2
2. Quickly go from back to down+1 then b2 (b~d+1~b2)
3. Hold down, slide from d to d/b+1 then b2 or Hold down, press 1~bb2 <-- Best way

I sometimes get the Square Boost accidentally too.

As you may know, I use JPS~f41~Cutter a lot... maybe too much. I think it's good because if it hits, you get like 20% and a safe jump. If it is blocked, you get 7/12 of a meter which is huge. Does anyone know how much chip the combo does on block?

I need to start leaving off the Cutter when the JPS hits so I can maximize damage though.

I like JP f4 1 too... I end it with tricky kick when opponenet is stand blocking, But if f41 hits I go for dash in b333 lift or f2 lift into big damage
 
I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but what the hell. I've been trying to maximise damage in the corner sans meter. This is a variation of the standard BNB with a few things added which I noticed were used in some of the other corner combos posted a few pages back. 56% with the JP start and 54% without.

J 1/2 F21, NJP, 4 xx Fan, 4 xx FanLift, Step back slightly, Fan, B2 xx Fan, Fan, J 3/4 xx Fan, Land, FF xx 2 xx Cutter, D1.

Does 57% with J 1/2, 21 xx enFan Cancel, backdash into J 1/2.

For those wondering what they can get off a F41 in the corner, here are two combos that you can do with different enders. Both are meterless and are variations of the regular BNB. Both do 57%.

This first is this

J 1/2 F41, 2 xx Fan, 4 xx FanLift, Step back slightly, Fan, B2 xx Fan, Fan, J3/4 xx Fan, FF xx 2 xx Fan Cutter, D1


And the second is similar to last combo with a minor difference at the end. I think if you time the end part right, you may be able to get a D1. I'll update if I find a way to get it.

J 1/2 F41, 2 xx Fan, 4 xx FanLift, Step back slightly, Fan, B2 xx Fan, Fan, 4 xx Fan Cutter, 2 xx Fan Cutter

 
I played around with that second combo a little more. Don't bother with trying to land a D1 after the second cutter. It'll never hit. However, if you score two hits on that second cutter, the total damage of the combo will be 58%. I still haven't found the optimal heights for hitting the character to cause the 2 hits to occur yet. Just get lucky. Haha.
 
i started using kitana today and i was messing around in practice and i tried this and its a super consistent 38 percent bnb

f21, njp, b2, air fan, fan, ff, 33 pretty kick

put in a 4 fan 4 lift(or f2 ex. lift) before the b2 and you'll do more damage

Here is the 55% X-Ray... I recorded a 53% by leaving off the second Ground Fan that is only possible if you are spaced just right near the corner after the Fan Lift. The 53% is possible from anywhere on the screen:

4~fan is easy so use that. Some people struggle with the 4~lift afterwards and so replace it with 2~lift as they can be lower when it connects.

I always use 4~fan toss, 2~fan lift. This seems to connect easy online, doesn't sacrifice much damage (1-2%), and I personally drop the combo less often. Everyone is different though, find what works best for you. But that is my recommendation and the sequence I use.

Not sure what he means? I don't see any scenario were air fan resets damage scaling. Unless there's meant to be additional scaling on top of the regular combo scaling?

ok I get part of it. if the opponent jumps into a ground fan the followup doesn't scale. So this will affect those big ass ground fan corner combos but shouldn't hurt doing like 2~ground fan or 4~ground fan in combos.

I think he is referring to my 58% unbreakable xray combo. The repeated anti air ground fans would cause scaling. So her 48% would go down some, hopefully not less than 40 because that would really suck.

Probably already a combo here, but a nice go to combo for easy damage off a jump in or safe jump, and i didnt see it on the OP :

7 hits 37% no meter : jip, f2 1, B2~DF1 (Really helps if youget this almost instantly out) Dash , B2~DF1

Also i appologise in advance if this is out of date (patches etc) as i only got the game a few days back and havent had my xbox online yet :)

Again probably known (well definately to most of the people i have seen play, do combos, or general kit stuff on here) already but just adding any tips i can to help people out;

When you do most of kitanas moves, there is a huge benefit to your execution if you buffer moves inside her strings, especially bb2 (fan lift) and her fan throws. I like to do things like D,F, 3:1 were 3 and 1 are plinked very quickly into each other so you get the kick and fan almost instantly which then gives you nice chance to follow up, and it makes it a little nicer on the block due to you bouncing back a tiny bit off air fan throw, instead of just leaving a jump in kick to get punished easily. Also buffering off of B2~DF1 to get really good results so you can land faster and follow up with more ease. The main problem i was having with Kit was looking at some of the stuff people are doing, trying to reproduce it myself and having huge execution problems, but now it seems just second nature to fire out fans instantly off jumps and such. Hope this helps somebody, because it really did with me once i started doing it :)
 
For users of the f+41 string on jump in for overhead mixup. (Yo 16-Bit! Ha..)

After the f+41 connects, you can f+2 xx fan, ff xx 2 xx Fan Lift, ff, ff, B2 xx Fan, ff, fan, ff, 4 xx Cutter.

Does 47% without jump-in punch, and 42% from the overhead hit of the f+41.

59% Meterless.

This combo is the same as the 57% combos except the 2 xx fan is replaced with a f2 xx fan for more damage. The distance for this to connect and allow the 4 xx Fanlift is very precise.

You figure it out. ;)


OR

Use this setup. Requires a bar however.

The opponent must be in the corner. Do a cross up jump punch into 21 xx en Fan(hold). Dash cancel the fan forward and then cancel the dash with a cross up jump punch into the rest of the combo.

Note. I do an alternate combo end with this. Same damage. If you get lucky and both hits of the last fan cutter register this will be a 60% combo.

Is there a specific timing on connecting the B+2, air fan? Sometimes, I'll catch them with thge b+2, but the air fan whiffs...... Other times, can't seem to get the dashing down to connect the b+2. Any help would be really appreciated!!
 
Re: King - That was the most damaging combo you could get off a f+41 starter provided you used a 4 xx Cutter as the combo ender as opposed to 2 xx Cutter.

Obviously a little harder to hit, but the spacing is deceptive. The 4 seems to hit quite low. It should hit provided you cancel the dashes corrrectly.

Re: Dark Kobra - I've recorded it and is at the bottom of this post. Maybe it'll help to understanding the timing. Just remember to buffer the dash out of the last few frames of the f+41 and press back immediately in order to hit the b2 only a few frames into the dash animation. You only need to move foward slightly to hit it.

Re: BenGmanUk - No, it's not easy to hit that 2 into fanlift because it doesn't feel natural. Took me a while to hit it, and I still drop it from time to time. I'm trying to get a 4 into fan to hit midscreen at the moment. If it does then this will be a harder hitting combo than the standard 48% bnb. Worth learning for that extra damage... which I think Kitana will need in the future as people adjust to her rush down game.

I've been doing a version of this combo since the first week the game came out ^_^

Mine is:

jps~f41, ff~b2~air fan, ff, ff, 4~fan, 4~Cutter

Timing the 4~fan is tricky, but once you get it down, it is well worth it.
