Didn't see one of these around, so I thought I'd make one. Any New England players here?
Personally, I live up in Boston, but I also spend many weekends in CT. Any players in the area should post up! At the very least, we could probably get some gamertags and have some somewhat smooth matches online, but I'm always down for some offline meet ups.

This is about as empty as I'd expect a new england thread to be. I'm up in Nashua NH which is only 45 minutes outside of Boston. Gatherings are a bit of a pipe dream in this era, but if someone gets something started i'd be interested.

Yeah, perhaps a tad idealistic, but you never know. There's a group of people who get together out in Framingham and play fighting games every week, so maybe some of them will take to the game and we could have a small scene, but we'll see I guess haha.

Yeah I know of the Framingham thing. I'm sure they play other stuff from time to time but my impression is that they're mostly street fighter majors with a minor in MvC and have been for some time. I don't play SF or MvC unfortunately, so even if they play MK9 from time to time I'm going to have a hard time blending. Too bad they don't play any Tekken else I be down to check it out.

CRKFIEND, got any Tekken experience? If you don't it's no problem, shoot me a pm if you want to throw down in some MK.

EDIT: I actually think I'm going to head down to Framingham this Tuesday, apparently they do play Tekken so even if the MK games are few and far between I got another game i can compete in.

I wish I could go next week! Stupid work. I'm a VF player too, and I know they play that as well. How good is Tekken online? I've been looking to get more serious about it, but none of my friends play. I've heard the netcode is kinda ass.

It's really not as bad as people make it out to be. It's definitely not the same as offline, but if you can play the game you'll do well enough.

I'm in Gloucester, and have made it out to Framingham sessions a few times since I moved up here from VA back in July. Tekken sessions are mainly going down at Justkillz' place in Marlboro (go post in the NE thread on TZ to get down on one of those weekend sessions), and on random Tuesday/Friday nights at GU in Framingham.

Anyway, as far as my availability goes, if there are sessions on Saturdays I'm available. My 3-11pm work schedule and distance from GU keeps me from going there on the weeknight sessions.

Yeah I've had an account on TZ for years now (actually 2 accounts) and it seems like all those kids know each other from somewhere else so I'd feel weird trying to get invited over someone's house. Going straight over to a store that's having a fight night is way different.

I moved up from VA in July and managed an invite to The Mandarin's place within the week. It's really not that big of a deal. Anyway, my 2 cents is that I'm sure if you show up to GU and you talk to the Tekken players you can manage an invite. If not, then introduce yourself in the NE thread on TZ and attempt to make work of the PM system over there.

p.s. I post as 'sciolist' on TZ btw.

Living up there is CT, a lot of local tournaments around but I never check them out cause I don't really pay attention to them, probably should. All of my vs time is at College with other students for a few hours at a time. Still so far away from people even in this thread though, PROFOUND SADNESS /overused Guy quote

I grew up in CT, so I'm there pretty frequently. What part of the state are you in?

No way! I'm from the Hartford area. It's like a 5 minute drive from where I live to downtown Hartford. I'll be visiting family in about two weeks, so maybe we could meet up at some point and get some games in?

Also Bad Lieutenant, is there a commuter line stop near GU? I don't have a car, so if not then I can't make it unfortunately.

Im actually about to host a tournament in a week or two. It be free entry for fun and games. I may throw it a 1600 xbl pt card for the #1 winner. I played with some players from here and wow they are really really good! this tournament is going to be crazy hype.
