I've pretty much been preaching about this in my status update, so I'll just summarize here:

If this movie has any shot, it needs to follow the Expanded Universe novels. Preferably "The Thrawn Trilogy".

I don't understand these people saying it's Disney, yet, all these people shitting on Star Wars buyout by Disney, go see and get hype as hell for all the Marvel films. Marvel was bought out by Disney, look how well their films are doing. Put 2 and 2 together.

BTW, I haven't seen a full length Star Wars film in my life.

Disney is just making the movie, they aren't directing it. I doubt were going to have any Goofy cameos, could he really be any worse than Jar Jar binks anyways?

George Lucas sold LucasFilm. etc to Disney to "pass it on" in his life-time basically. Instead of putting something like this in his will, I guess he figured it's best to do it while he's still alive and making sure he puts it in good hands. I can respect this, but then again... why the hell not just put someone new in charge of Lucasfilms?

This only applies to the Avengers movies. Sony owns the rights to make spider-man and ghost rider while Fox owns fantastic four and x-men.

I find it strange they announce this so soon. Does this mean they started looking for directors and writers before they owned it or are they just saying this to boost stock?

This news is the best news ever since 1982 for the franchise

1-3 was done by lucas and co and its apparent and obvious that they arent fit for the job anymore

Disney has a HUGE line of success and I feel they will further the brand and steer it in the right direction with 7-9 starting w Leia's Training

Look beyond the name disney and you'll see this is a huge positive

Also Disney parks will now start construction on their star wars section and like i said further the genre

I fail to see how the episode 1,2, and 3 movies were so terrible. Sure they're weren't of the calibur of the original three... but sequels (or in this case, prequels) rarely are.

The sequels were badly received (myself included) due to being not what people wanted. Too many special effects and pretty much no script. The awesome thing about the first trilogy was that it balanced an awesome family story with an excellent plot.

Here's a funny review on Phantom Menace

Lucas got blinded by the money. Get ready for another shitty trilogy.
