I've gotta crash here in a minute, but I'm down to play tomorrow; hopefully it'll let me invite you into a game and put you on the same squad though!it just finished downloading![]()

I don't believe so? I hadn't noticed that.Hmmm, am I to believe your guns are faction specific?? Lame...
It takes a little bit, but you'll get used to it. It's all objective based; so if you have to blow something up, the enemy squad will come out and attempt to disarm the bomb. Then you shoot at them, and vice versa. Just takes some familiarity of the map. And yes, there is no auto-aim, which is a good thing! It's kinda difficult to spot enemies for me. I mean, this is the first time I've ever played a Battlefield game, but it seems the enemies blend in way too much and have no indication of where they are on the map except when they shoot. I also noticed a lack of auto-aim?
You get scope attachments after getting enough kills with your gun(s), they adopted the CoD weapon system there. No scope makes it very obnoxious to find people. If you're attacking, then go plant a charge, run a little ways away or prone on a hill and just shoot at the enemy squad when they come out to disarm it. Everything's objective based, so the action is always going on around the objectives.I have no idea how people can spot enemies from so far in such a vast map and with such hectic gameplay and people running around like lunatics.
Guess its a good thing I'm getting both. Hell I built a computer for this game. (dual SLI ftw!)Though I don't see how there won't be a delay in release with all the glitches on the console version. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but the console version definitely needs a lot more work.played beta on 360, straight garbage, then played on my pc, which is barely able to run the game, game runs great, this is a pc franchise and always will be. so many problems on consoles, falling through maps, frame flashes, shitty party system, etc... plays flawlessly even on lowest settings on pc.
Very true. Those random games are filled with people the game like its CoD. Gets really annoying.ok i gave it another go when it decided to actually LET me play with friends, with friends its a whole new game, its actually fun.
main issue by yourself isnt the game so to speak, its the fact you CANNOT work together with random strangers.
derp herp, you realize it's a beta right? Beta isn't a demo. Alot will be tweaked in a month, most games are tweaked the most within the last couple months leading to release. Uncharted 3 beta teaked the hell out of the game and a month later the full multiplayer was released before the actual game for people to play until release. So much was changed. Never judge a game by a beta.I spent an hour last night trying to get into a game with some friends. You know, because thats what the whole point of the 'invite to squad' thing is, to play with friends. Eventually I just gave up and went back to playing MK, because that actually has better online than BF3 does.
I tried again later to get into a game on my own, and it worked. However then I was just greeted by a shit tonne of glitches such as viewmodels stretching across my screen and a layer of blue tint covering my TV. After playing about two games I think I can conclude that this is a step back from BC2. The gameplay feels so much more clunky than it did in BC2, and is it just me or is the bloom a bit too much? Navigating the menus is so confusing too, but that is something I can get used to obviously. Another gripe I have is that I cant create a custom control scheme, why the fuck not? I know it's a beta and all, but I just have a feeling that because this is EA, and the game is going to be released in 25 days, the final product wont be much different.
So disappointed in this, I'm gonna stick to mw3, at least I can count on the COD franchise to give me a fun multiplayer experience. With friends.
isnt the whole point of a beta to convince people to buy the game? if someone isnt impressed by it, they wont buy it, its as simple as that.derp herp, you realize it's a beta right? hurp durp i forgot this is EA, the never change anything lol.derp herp, you realize it's a beta right? Beta isn't a demo. No point of beta is to test it from a wider audience to find more glitches, bugs etc... Unfortunately after years of people still not understanding what a beta is, i'm going to be an asshole today and say that it was totally necessary. A demo is the convincing tool. Demo this is not.isnt the whole point of a beta to convince people to buy the game? if someone isnt impressed by it, they wont buy it, its as simple as that.
they cant half ass the beta and then expect people to still fork out 40 quid for it, it just isnt gonna happen, also, the herp derp comment was unnecessary.
EA is the publisher they are not making this game, DICE is.hurp durp i forgot this is EA, the never change anything lol.
well all the beta has managed to do it put me off the game, im sure they have a team of testers who are supposed to be looking for bugs, not the consumer. No point of beta is to test it from a wider audience to find more glitches, bugs etc... I'm not gonna dispute this, I agree, it's a buggy mess atm and the release is right around the corner. Problem with internal testing is resources, sure they do it, but having millions test as opposed to 20 is a much better option. Alot of games do public betas, most are closed though as in invite only. Alot however are open betas when more data needs to be taken. A game with maps and objects of this grand of scale needs the numbers of the consumer to test it thoroughly. Most battlefield games have been buggy on release to an extent, but not this caliber of buggy. I'm sure it'll be alot more polished by release. Metro is probably also the worst map they could have gone with to represent the game. Most of the bugs seem to be console specific too, seem to be less of them on the PC version. Honestly have a feeling they could push back the game a month or 2 for christmas.well all the beta has managed to do it put me off the game, im sure they have a team of testers who are supposed to be looking for bugs, not the consumer.
there is no way they will fix the huge bugs it has now, 20 days till release day sure, but that doesnt mean theyre finishing it the day of release, take a good 10 days off release date and that leaves even less time.
beta or not, the majority of players are dissapointed with it.
id be agreeing with you 100% had the beta not been released so late before release, some friends of mine played the alpha beta on pc and they tell me nothings changed, usually i stay quite optimistic, but i was REALLY looking forward to bf3, and its just really dissapointed me :/I'm not gonna dispute this, I agree, it's a buggy mess atm and the release is right around the corner. One thing to realize that most don't understand is a beta is to test, meaning DICE wants players to be vocal with them about bugs, glitches and other things that their scanning software might not detect. They are monitering every game being played and compiling all bugs. Sure you can have fun in a beta but the point is to test content and get it fixed. Most go into it thinking they are just gonna have a grand ol time like it's a demo indicative of the final product and just play and thats that. If there are things you don't like or bugs to report it's best to report them. Most likely others are having the same problems and the word will get to the developer and get fixed.
Beta isn't bothering me much, sure it's glitched all to hell, but not a single battlefield released has been a dissapointment. DICE will fix the problems, I guarantee it.
Something a friend and I were discussing about this as opposed tot he alpha version is maybe they released the wrong version for testing. There was another game that came out a couple of years ago that did the same thing, the version we got for beta was the wrong one. It's a possibility. And nobody wants to admit a mistake like that.id be agreeing with you 100% had the beta not been released so late before release, some friends of mine played the alpha beta on pc and they tell me nothings changed, usually i stay quite optimistic, but i was REALLY looking forward to bf3, and its just really dissapointed me :/
Anyone know if the final build will be in 1080?
