Bad ass controllers man!!! I tried SSF4 on a hori type stick and I realized that there is no way for me to play mk on that....but it seems perfect to hold down+back.

Yeah, I thought so too, but I gave the stick a try (the SC one) and I could play almost at my fullest. And my snes stick has been with me since 2000, so I'm very used to it.

Man, I was getting thrown a lot in these matches. I swear everytime I was thrown I was holding back, damn analog. Also, random select gets boring after awhile, it gives you the same 5 characters usually.

Good matches!!! I wanted to ask, is it big difference between mame+kailera and x-box-live?
I mean ping, lags, or even gameplay ?

It depends I suppose. I use a laptop for Kaillera so I have to use Wi-Fi. My connection is always pretty bad on Kaillera. Plus my laptop isn't the greatest, so I assume that plays a role.

On XBL I generally have a decent connection with most people. I use Wi-Fi on XBL too though. Overall, I have better connections on XBL, and better connections more often on XBL.

As far as the gameplay in general, I think the XBLA port of UMK3 is slightly different that MAME. Not sure on the specifics though.

To me its pretty big especially depending on who your playing.

Mame: The game is the actual arcade "port" so its the true to how gameplay should actually be. The connection and smoothness is also usually spot on because mame is when your playin on the arcade or on p2p connection so there's minimal to no lag. However if your connecting to someone who's got a bad comp then yea...

Kaillera: Same as mame...its actual arcade port but now your connecting on servers and with other players within a server. Sometimes with multiple players so now there's autimatic delay...although not always noticeable really, but now things depend on who your playing and what the pings are.

XBL: Im never on this cuz I dont own it but always play when I go to my friends house once in a while and from what I kno...the port of the game is different and adjusted. There's different frame systems and already autimatic built in delay. The autimatic delay isnt so bad to me and most of the games ran smoother than on kaillera but if your connecting to someone with bad connection...the lag and delay can get real bad. So its usually quite smooth, but occassionally horrible. The only thing bad for me was the xbox controllers and the gameplay which is very different cuz the properties are different like jump kicks, uppercuts...timing ect. Also...if your playing xbl umk3 on an HD television you lose frames so thats what I play on if im ever playin and that already gives me a slight disadvantage. If u wanna do xbl you just gotta get used to it if ur a mame player...but if your gonna do a tournament you should prob practice on mame since its more true to the arcade port and thats what many tournies use to run em.

Lol, the biggest difference is that if you can't get the XBL version anymore so it doesn't really matter.

Offline the differences are pretty minimal and can be adjusted to by pretty much anyone. However the XBL version doesn't allow you to map your buttons. So if you aren't using pad or don't have a custom joystick, you're screwed.

Mame is the ideal way to play pretty much for that reason alone.

Brazil MKT scene. Guys are VERY good (Marcelo the most) sadly they are very selfish and trash talk too much. I hope to play them one day but I know they can kick my ass! XD

BTW one of those guys SUPPOSEDLY can do Sindel inf without cheating. IDK but I would say if its true when I see it personally.

also, DarkFulgore told me, there is a trick in MKT which enables you to make the Sindel's inf way easier than it is, which of course does not working in UMK3 (arcade/mame).

Thats why probably they (he?) sometimes miss way more easier combos but got the sindel's inf everytime.

+ This is mkt... it is waaaaaay to different than umk3. I'm sure these guys will play UMK3 differently, than MKT.

I know they are good, and i really, almost never critize vs matches, but just wanted to give a clearer view.

What would be that "trick" then? I think it has t be with the button mapping.

EDIT: PSX and PC MKT both keep the streaks for me too. IDK.

One of the best players from a neighborg state came to visit me and play some matches. To my surprise he was spamming a LOT the Gjab hahaha he told me that he is actually the best on his state. I had more than a year withouth playing him and he really has imporved a lot and has a very annoying Stryker, if he only could improve his executiion with Stryker combos he could be one hell of a pain in the ass to play against.

GGs to my friend Francisco. And here is a good chance to see how to play against a GJabber spammer! Altought sometimes you will see me "running into" the jabs (and doing some wacky and shitty stuff, I was playing HORRIBLY BAD) that is with a purpose I will explain later but if anyone can figure it out please feel free to post!

Who wants to see how broken MKII Kung Lao is in MKT PSX?

I played today Otto, an old friend from the same city as me in MKT PSX, he IMO is one of the top 5 here in the country at THIS game specifically, he uses mostly MKII Lao.

Ppl you have to see how BIG is the treat of playing against him. Its so FAST and he changes the way the game is played, you cannot zone him properly and he literally SHITS on GJabbing hahaha

Nightwolf is my only good counter against him cause the "on top of him" style of fighting, but I suffered cause of my lack of execution on PSX pad too for stuff like 4 axes and double tapping or inverse dash on d pad :( , also I dont like to pick in 2 vs 2 the same char (I.E: Nw, Nw).

Still he is an awesome player who is VERY agressive, as you allwill see, his biggest fault could be that he relies much on the character "brute force" and dont block that much.

Final count was me-13 Otto-13

How come people in MKT use the green shoulder with Nightwolf? Isn't the red one just better than the green one in every way?

Red is faster but does half of the damage. But red has one small advantage: Its a BBF tap. Not a ff. So the chance of being thrown while countering a LP rush are smaller.
