Awesome! MLG Columbus exceeded my expectations by far. Wish I could be at the players arena in New York, they are an awesome group of guys. See everyone in Anaheim!

For those who are wondering, MLG will be in Raleigh, NC at the Raleigh Convention Center for the August one from Aug 24-26.

I plan on going to that one!!! EAST COAST UNITE!!!
I would try to go to that if school didnt start up that week. Is there another one anywhere? :/

I wonder if there's even any communication. If there is, is one part being stubborn? Or are both? I think this should be addressed honestly. This is one of the main issues the FGC had with our fighters joining a league like MLG.
In all honesty, if everyone saw the scope of what MLG is doing with their tournaments I think people would start to understand why the idea of MLG scheduling around FGC tournaments is a little preposterous.

You really need to have seen the sea of people in the SC2 crowd at MLG Columbus, it was insane!

MLG is a huge opportunity for our game and community, I cannot stress enough how much we need to support what they are trying to do for us.

Pretty much this. MLG Columbus is probably one of the smaller MLG events, and yet Starcraft there looked like fucking EVO 3 times over.

MLG definitely is a huge thing for MK9. I don't think there could be anything better going on for MK9 right now than for it to be apart of MLG. And of course people should support MLG as much as they can and we all want MLG to pick up MK9 as an official MLG title. None of that is the issue though.

The issue is the problem that arises from MLG events being on the same days as FGC events. I'm not saying MLG has to schedule around FGC events, not at all. That would be absolutely ridiculous. I'm saying there should be some communication. I don't know that there's not, which was the point of my post. Neither parties should be obligated to schedule their events around the other. But some communication and public addressing of the matter will go an incredibly long way. If either the FGC community event organizer or MLG would make something as small as a short statement addressing the issue, that would be a huge deal.

I just don't want there to be this "it's either MLG or the community ran events" type of dichotomy. We need to be able to coexist in order for this to really be successful. If there's this lasting tension in the air because these two are forced into competition, it may just get out of hand and it's just not a good look in my opinion.

Power Up and Flawless Victory during the same weekend, and now MLG competing with ECT...

It is a little first world problems to complain that there are too many events to go to. But at the same time it would be nice if everyone could start preparing for these events even earlier.

Glad to hear that the west coast gets a taste of MLG! It was so much fun, I hope you guys enjoy it.
Its a great problem to have

I think I'm in there.
Why in the world would anyone go to ufgt over mlg? I mean you would literally have to be retarded.
UFGT is really gdlk, bro. One of the (other) best-run tournaments out there. I will probably go to both tournaments if I can.

EDIT: WTF? This is the same weekend as East Coast Throwdown 4 in NJ. Now I'm really not so sure about making it to MLG, since it's a tournament that I'd have to fly to, as opposed to one that is about a 4 hour drive. But...MLG is so baller. Ahhh!

I've seen the mlg guys trying to work out dates on twitter.. they honestly try but there are so many majors to have to work around... they seem to care about overlapping but its really not that easy.

It's going to be hard for MLG to organize an event during the Spring because during EVO season, there is almost a major every single week. Sometimes it's just unavoidable so they can't be faulted for it being the same week as ECT4. If they did it the following week, then it'd be the same weekend as CEO. After that week is Midwest Championships.

If they wanted to hold it in June, when else would they hold it? The very next week after Midwest Championships which would be the week before EVO? That would force people to make a huge choice for those who would only be able to attend one event: MLG or EVO.

Again, sometimes it's just unavoidable.
This! Their very smart they want to give notice and try not to overlap but its not easy.
