I thought it was when he continued a kombo after a toasty appearance, but an uppercut now I'm just confused and I thought it was just one bar

maybe Hector is giving us a clue. If someone says that block may be needed for the boost maybe you just press the same buttons as an xray with the right timing. He did put a symbol of an Xray in his first post. who knows? I was reading this thread while on our way back from MLG and wanted to throw that out there because no one mentioned how he could have possibly given a clue in his first post. Love these easter eggs!

Yeah... this is quite old news. Interesting to see that there is no definite conclusion as to why it happens yet though. I always thought it was comboing after an uppercut (quite easy with Rain and others).

I'm guessing its a throwback to MKII toasty, D+Start = Smoke battle. It only makes sense that a similar command triigers the boost.

well if what you are saying is true then yes, it looks like Hector was giving us a clue when he posted an icon of an "XRAY" in the first comment of this thread.. good shit Sonic.. Can anyone confirm that?
