The sad part is that this would easily be the most tekken game of all times, but it's plagged by dev vision of opression which they confuse with aggression and overusage of heat and plus on block moves that leads to unavoidable situations.Not a fan of this game, but I feel bad for the players. Also waiting for the next big tourney to see all the bugs and ridiculousness in action lol
Call it like I see it! People saying that even casuals are angry about the game's massive patch and offensive meta? Not buying it!bro read the room lmao
Not sure if this was directed at me, don’t think it was, but if for some reason it was, I was just linking to what Knee said. I agree that too many people take what top/pro players say as fact oppose to just their opinions. Like, of course their opinions have more credibility than most ppl’s because you know they have a bunch of experience playing the game at high levels, but they can be wrong just like anyone else. And you also can disagree with them.Please stop appealing to authority and conduct your own research.
Again, please, please, please stop falling for the sensationalism on social media.
Just open something like Reddit for 5 seconds and you'll see even Red Rank noobs are super angry about the patch. No one is happy, Steam numbers have tanked since the patch launch spike, Evo Japan has less than 1k. Literally no one is happy lol.Call it like I see it! People saying that even casuals are angry about the game's massive patch and offensive meta? Not buying it!
Devs have been much worse than you realize. Harada went ghost. Murray was going on Reddit, opening threads, seeing if the person had a Twitter account, and blocking them when the person had never spoken to him on Twitter before. This was confirmed multiple times. He also blocked streamers on Twitter from saying even things like "we should all treat developers with respect but this patch is terrible" paraphrasing. Which reminds me.And like the dev blocked this player on Twitter boo hoo.. some people acting like there should be a go fund me for all the Tekken players who need therapy for their post traumatic patch syndrome![]()
The stomp is unscaled and guaranteed after f+4 in wall combos. This sequence alone does like 40% of damage. While Heihachi did not have the best wall carry, he could dish out 75-80% of damage.Also the Heihachi Tekken 5 DR example doesn't show anything super damaging at all, just saying.
I played Tekken games since Tekken 3, but I never followed the competitive scene of Tekken. That said I know that Knee is a longtime Tekken player. And I also know that your Knee point is mute. Like I said, Tekken had high damage combos and one-touch-kill moves in the past, but not to that insane degree that T8 has now.The stomp is unscaled and guaranteed after f+4 in wall combos. This sequence alone does like 40% of damage. While Heihachi did not have the best wall carry, he could dish out 75-80% of damage.
If you are old enough, you will recall that Knee made a name for himself in Tekken 5: DR, the game with "simple and short, low-damaging combos from the past". LOL.
I do agree with you that this patch has introduced some unacceptable bugs and glitches. However, calling the game "basically unplayable" is ludicrous.
Besides, I fail to understand why the year-one Mortal Kombat 1 apologists and defenders have come out of the woodwork.
By your own admission, none of you play Tekken 8, or have not for a while.
Does Namco also not deserve at least a year to fix this patch?
Really random cause idk who that is but I just saw a highlighted comment on one of Shujinkydink's videos by that exact tag, MKF30I swear @Roy Arkon is a clone of @MKF30. Speaking of which, MKF30 hasn’t posted since June of 2020, the Covid year. Hopefully the crazy lad is doing alright wherever he is..
Was it a recent comment? He used to be apart of the MK community since before MK9. In the forums, he would always post essays as responses. He also was an aspiring VA and had, or could at least imitate, a really deep voice. Anyway, he was an MK fanatic, which I think that’s what the “MKF” actually stood for. So it’s surprising he hasn’t been around in so long.Really random cause idk who that is but I just saw a highlighted comment on one of Shujinkydink's videos by that exact tag, MKF30
Crazy cause I don't usually watch much MK1 on YouTube or look at comments.
Yeah, I just tried to take a screenshot but it's too large for the site.Was it a recent comment? He used to be apart of the MK community since before MK9. Considering the vast majority of mk/injustice players who have done that, no you really shouldn't lolNaw.
PhiDX is a very good player.
But he is still playing and talking about Tekken 8? I thought that he was taking a break?
So, I would whisper "hypocrite" in his ear.
Yeah, M2Dave tries to paint Tekken players as the worst, but no, it's MK players that are the worst. The level of hypocrisy and double standard in pretty much every whim or parroted bandwagon line they say is beyond pathetic. Yes Tekken players are starting to show signs of similarities of that mentality too, but MK interent players are still the worst, which is a bad thing.Considering the vast majority of mk/injustice players who have done that, no you really shouldn't lol
I haven't yet but I'll definitely watch it tonight. This is probably guaranteed to be a solid discussion.@M2Dave Will watch this convo, lean in close to PhiDX's ear, and whisper, "Skill issue."
@SaltShaker Have you seen this?
Naw.
PhiDX is a very good player.

MKF30 was a great Quan ChiWas it a recent comment? He used to be apart of the MK community since before MK9. In the forums, he would always post essays as responses. Watched it, great discussion. I couldn't break it down in full detail better than they did if I tried. My favorite part is when they broke down why increasing the power levels was not the right move for this game and massively limits the gameplay options and neutral in S2.@M2Dave Will watch this convo, lean in close to PhiDX's ear, and whisper, "Skill issue."
@SaltShaker Have you seen this?
No, and I am not going to because I already know what PhiDX thinks of high power levels.So you didn't watch the discussion, huh?
Are Mortal Kombat players issuing violent innuendos and death threats to people who are perceived to be accountable for a patch?Yeah, M2Dave tries to paint Tekken players as the worst, but no, it's MK players that are the worst.
Yeah that's what I'm saying about the whining, these low rank casuals aren't playing the game at that level they are just joining the complaint party, typical reddit tbhJust open something like Reddit for 5 seconds and you'll see even Red Rank noobs are super angry about the patch. No one is happy, Steam numbers have tanked since the patch launch spike, Evo Japan has less than 1k. Literally no one is happy lol.

He blocked MrsPlayStuff for this tweet above, got roasted for blocking her for that, and kept on blocking more people. And many others for similar tweets like this are blocked by him now. If there's anyone who should be going to therapy clearly it's these guys because they're as soft as a wet Kleenex.
These knee videos reminde me of when harada was explaining the heat system and he said, i usually dont play king and he has so many moves and throws to remember and i cant play him but with the heat system i can focus on a very few moves and play him effectively and its fun.KNEE's season 2 Lars in a nutshell
I think his takes in the convo are a little more nuanced than, "high power levels bad."No, and I am not going to because I already know what PhiDX thinks of high power levels.
While I vehemently disagree with PhiDX about fighting game design and philosophy, I am becoming concerned about his safety...
Are Mortal Kombat players issuing violent innuendos and death threats to people who are perceived to be accountable for a patch?
Communal suicide... virulence... derangement... are a couple of words that come to mind.
The Tekken community cannot survive in its current state.
