Hmm interesting.
Noob has a high-risk, high-reward powerup
Nah you could do a clone off of a portal set up , or you could do 6 clones off of a glitched portal lolThe only clone (special move) that could combo in Mk9 was that upknee version. In Mk11, I don't remember any of the clone special moves comboing, maybe the ex air dive kick.
Yes, but the clones themselves did not combo per se, I think that's what he meant.Nah you could do a clone off of a portal set up , or you could do 6 clones off of a glitched portal lol
I wouldn't be shocked if it's about as necessary to his gameplan as star mode to johnny. Noobs toolkit looks VERY complete and quite brutal, although of course frame data/properties will determine some of that. The drawback isn't even that bad if you're shooting for a crazy comeback round, and being shadowless doesn't seem THAT awful for one round.I'm not sure how I feel about him after that Kombat Kast. Some of those drawbacks seem really steep.
His little buff is cute, but how much damage will he really be doing? If everything he does turns into a launcher, that probably has to scale like a mf. You pop that and turn a touch into a 50% combo, sweet, but then you lose all of your shadow attacks for the round. Other characters are doing that damage while still retaining their whole kit when its done.
Embrace Khaos looks cool on paper and training mode, but then i remembered the game has breakers, might feel like Bo' Rai Cho's drinking problem again in a long run.Ghostball detonate being 2 bars seems insanely expensive. Why wouldn't you just EX teleport if you needed a launcher?
Thats exactly what I was thinking. It'd be more interesting if Noob had something could drain opponent meter.Embrace Khaos looks cool on paper and training mode, but then i remembered the game has breakers, might feel like Bo' Rai Cho's drinking problem again in a long run.
This is what I was thinking. Plenty of characters can hit 40-50% without fatal. Unless this consistently breaks 60%, it'll go the way of Johnny hype meter. Even that at least has the utility frametraps for most specials where as this only offers the meterless combo part. As for Ghostball, it would need to have its own gravity and very low scaling so that you could do a enhanced teleport after it if you want to cash out.His little buff is cute, but how much damage will he really be doing? ...Other characters are doing that damage while still retaining their whole kit when its done.
It's not just meterless combos? It's combo conversion from moves that normally just don't. Granted I think it's going to matter about as much as hype meter, but slide being a meterless full screen combo starter strikes me as worth keeping an eye on.This is what I was thinking. Yeah its the only thing i dont like based on the things showed.I'm not sure how I feel about him after that Kombat Kast. Some of those drawbacks seem really steep.

49:34 timestamp of the kombat kast on twitch,16 bit says once per match and then the shadow is gone for the rest of that round it is activated on.Im pretty sure they said once per round not once per match i could be wrong but i definitely heard one of them say that
I think Kano's probably gonna be great, should allow you to land a ghostball off any blockstring since it's unblockable. Getting ghostballs on the opponent seems like it's gonna be very powerfulStill think you're all overplaying the downsides of being shadowless for the rest of 1 round and underplaying how very strong a full screen metereless launcher is going to be. If slide/throw/ball are remotely good at zoning (which I don't expect much mind you), it's going to be a pretty powerful comeback option.
With that said, i am curious what kameo's he's going to land on. It looks like he's got the combo game covered, so i'd suspect utility? With that in mind i'm thinking:
Sareena, for the meter drain
Sub, as he's only gotten better and is no longer just the "anti projectile" option
Sonja for coverage with square punch
Kano for pressure/lockdown nonsense
It isn't unblockable, it just applies the popup debuff even on block.I think Kano's probably gonna be great, should allow you to land a ghostball off any blockstring since it's unblockable. Getting ghostballs on the opponent seems like it's gonna be very powerful
Yea that's what I mean, the aura gets on them even on blockIt isn't unblockable, it just applies the popup debuff even on block.
Kameo wake up? That's what I do to make up for Homelander's armor.I think Noob's armor move is going to be one of the worst ones in the game. A stationary single hitting low sweep. What do you do against someone like Homelander who's going to be above you the entire match, especially on your wakeup
