Well, it's official. Cyrax stays for Final Kombat but changes are coming afterwards.

100% agreed. The Kombat Kast and everyone else responsible for these shenanigans have got their money. They haven't been worried about majors for a while.this is a lose lose scenario for NRS. I dont care anymore. They dont.
short list of problems from various employer reviews that I've read over the years:Screw comms, honestly. My thought is focused on why EVERY patch since release has had a slew of undocumented changes. What is NRS' internal logging process and why does it seem to always fail?
This is super concerning to me, honestly
tbf i think everyone was done with year 1 at that point. Also, if this was capcom cup or something there's no shot the competitive base would've voted to rock the new patchThey basically had to take that vote. The Cyrax changes are minor compared to rebalancing the entire cast just before the second biggest major of the year.
Also the insane crunch some devs are put through, on top of other stuff like workplace harassment without consequenceshort list of problems from various employer reviews that I've read over the years:
- OGs at the company are stagnant and don't give a single shit.
- Alot of the work is done by contractors and people that aren't invested in the company or the quality of the game.
- Lots of turnover and lack of leadership/accountability.
- Low pay.
Not exactly surprising.
Until those changes I'm entering my villain arc. I'm gonna pick Baraka/Cyrax up.Well, it's official. Cyrax stays for Final Kombat but changes are coming afterwards.

Imo this is good for viewership, bad for the players. At the same time, most of the participants at least have prior experience with Cyrax at his full potential, now they just need to grind out the MU to see what new things there are as well as refresh their memories. That said, Cyrax even without this is actually a lot better than he gets credit for. Mainly because other Kameos just are more versatile. But now, he’s back to being a top tier Kameo.Well, it's official. Cyrax stays for Final Kombat but changes are coming afterwards.

Combo Breaker Top 8 was Lao, Mavado, Goro, Motaro, Khameleon, Janet, Sub-Zero, Kano (8 different Kameos). There's never been a situation where there were only 3 Kameos used, and Cyrax might lead to less diversity rather than more. Combined with the lack of counterplay, it may be a tough sell that it's better for viewers.Imo this is good for viewership, bad for the players. I’m actually glad we won’t be seeing nothing but Khameleon, Kano and Janet Kameos. This also gives me more hope for MKJavier. I don’t think he stood much of a chance with Khameleon. Even though she’s a good Kameo in general and for him, I think Cyrax is overall a better fit for Scorpion.
Absolutely. But, they could've just ban the Kameo for this tournament only. But it's probably better than rushing a fix that breaks something else.
They could, but someone like Souls Clue, who uses and has been using Sindel/Cyrax would be quite unfairly disadvantaged.Absolutely. But, they could've just ban the Kameo for this tournament only.
All but 1 player in that top 8 used Khameleon, Janet or Kano. And that 1 player used Mavado instead, a new Kameo that is also pretty good.Combo Breaker Top 8 was Lao, Mavado, Goro, Motaro, Khameleon, Janet, Sub-Zero, Kano (8 different Kameos). Correct. All but 1 player in that top 8 used Khameleon...
Fair. And Cyrax's egregious partners got toned down as well.I feel like at launch Cyrax was definitely too strong, but in this post dlc power creep I definitely think Cyrax is on par with the other Kameos.
If Cyrax was a brand new kameo and came out like this now, people would say "damn he's good" but nobody would be asking for him to be banned lol
I think a fair solution would be something like what they do with Mavado how he can detect different hit states.Fair. And Cyrax's egregious partners got toned down as well.
The thing is... everyone is viewing this whole thing a little to black and white. I feel like there is a solution that can allow it to be used for half a bar if certain criteria is met. If they criteria isn't met, Full Bar kameo ambush. NRS doesn't like to think past layer 2 because things get complicated to balance.
I mean, rain got buffed, not toned down, Sindel has received little change, and Tanya (who is actually stupid with cyrax - f2112 jails into chopper which then jails into f2112 for 10% chip that 90% of the cast has to flawless block or hold, + decent damage + safety) has not been toned down.Fair. Rain got pretty much nothing but buffs.. so he must have been under performing. Sindel and Tanya have more synergistic combos with Kung Lao & Goro respectively. The main 3 culprits I was referring to were Johnny, Raiden and Baraka.I mean, rain got buffed, not toned down, Sindel has received little change, and Tanya (who is actually stupid with cyrax - f2112 jails into chopper which then jails into f2112 for 10% chip that 90% of the cast has to flawless block or hold, + decent damage + safety) has not been toned down.
Johnny and Baraka have received nerfs though; that’s true.
