Main Fighters
Geras
  • Bulldozer (Back Punch, Front Punch, Back Punch) is now considered airborne when Geras is visually off the ground
  • During Slab Returnal (Towards + Front Punch, Back Punch, Front Punch + Front Kick) both characters are considered airborne when the attack hits until they land on the ground
  • During Back Throw both characters are considered airborne when Geras hops in the air
  • Fixed issue in Practice Mode where repeatedly performing special moves over a really long period of time could cause the game to become unresponsive
Havik
  • Neoplasm & Enhanced Neoplasm are no longer destroyed if he is interrupted by his own Kameo
Kenshi
  • Ancestral Guard is now considered airborne when Kenshi is visually off the ground
Kung Lao
  • Human Weapon (Away + Back Punch, Back Kick) is now considered airborne when Kung Lao is visually off the ground
  • Get Back (Back Kick, Back Kick) is now considered airborne when Kung Lao is visually off the ground
Johnny Cage
  • Cagenado (Back Kick, Back Kick) is now considered airborne when Johnny Cage is visually off the ground
Li Mei
  • Against The Rope (Back Punch, Front Punch, Back Kick) & Calculated (Back Kick, Front Kick, Back Kick) are now considered airborne when Li Mei is visually off the ground
  • Fixed issue that was causing incorrect visual effects and excessively long knockdown animation after hitting an opponent with Enhanced Chain Reaction
Mileena
  • Fixed issue that could cause opponents to move through Mileena briefly after landing from Teleport Down
Nitara
  • Fixed Leap of Faith being unable to hit airborne Kameos

  • Reiko is now considered airborne when he is off the ground during the hit animation of Pale Rider and Enhanced Pale Rider
  • Fixed issue with Practice Mode Frame Data display not working with Retaliation

  • Fixed rare issue that could cause Scorpion to be briefly outside the arena boundaries after landing from (Air) Enhanced Flame-Port

  • Fixed camera issues that could sometimes occur if Back Throw is interrupted at specific timing

  • Zone Of Fear will no longer end early if a Summon Kameo move is performed
Peacemaker
  • Fixed issue that could cause Ground-Air Offensive and Beautiful Bird Bullet to use an incorrect animation when the opponent and their Kameo are on screen at the same time

  • Adjusted hit region of Mass Driver (Back Punch, Front Punch)
  • Fixed issue that could cause throws to not grant first hit bonus if Death's Embrace is active
  • Fixed issue with Practice Mode Frame Data display not working with (Air) Suspended Animation
  • Fixed visual issues that could occur from Yurei (Back + Front Kick) being interrupted early

Kung Lao (Kameo)
  • Fixed Buzz Saw not having sound effects when it travels across the ground if it is delayed
Sareena (Kameo)
  • Sareena will no longer sometimes remain on screen when doing Jataaka's Kurse with specific timing when a round ends
Sektor (Kameo)
  • Fixed Up Rocket directional inputs being reversed while performing certain attacks
Shujinko (Kameo)
  • Fixed several Mimic & Kopy Kat abilities facing the opponent unexpectedly when switching sides
  • Fixed Shujinko's partner not taking damage if he is hit after performing several of Li Mei's Mimic & Kopy Kat abilities
  • Mimic Lightning Port stolen from Raiden has 2 more frames of start-up and recovers 1 frame faster
  • Fixed camera issue when Shujinko perform's Omni-Man's Flatter Tiebreaker
Khameleon (Kameo)
  • Fixed visual issue that could cause Khameleon to be invisible during Jade Disguise Breaker
Mavado (Kameo)
  • Fixed Best Feet Forward & Nindrop not being possible after several attacks
  • Fixed rare issue that could cause Best Feet Forward attack to trigger twice in the same combo despite the input only being pressed once

In this game, moves like this will always be OP no matter the CD. But more importantly, they promote scrubby ass gameplay that is bad to play against and spectate. It's like bringing d1, stormcell Raiden back. No one wants to play that or spectate it.

Stryker nades, and Khameleon fan lift to a certain extent all do the same thing.
Exactly that's why cyrax is back. Pipe down and stop crying.

Everybody was doing the same sht with other Kameos after cyrax was gutted so them doing that nerf made them look lower than dirt.

Him coming back isn't going to change the meta since the meta never actually changed.

Also, I'd argue Cyrax will eclipse Khameleon in many cases very quickly.

Let all kameos be loopable into themselves because "this is an assist game"?
If that's were they want to go with the game, that's fine. But, I'm expecting some major buffs to the rest of the kameos like Sektor, Frost, etc. and Mavado's pushblock made universal and cost 1 bar.

This isn't even a overhaul, what your describing is a completely different game. Why remove the identity of assist fighters from a assist fighter game ? Wouldn't that just be mk11 or mkx ?

Maybe I'm not seeing what your saying, but a complete overhaul or revamp of the games mechanics would literally take months to work on, and if they can't even release homelander without breaking the game, what is your confidence that they can correctly overhaul an entire cameo system with character adjustments to go along with them.

Do you watch mktombrady by chance ?

Many of those kameos in the prior patch had some form of counter play though - cyrax has very little. I hopped on for two seconds as rain cyrax and immediately laughed as I could all of a sudden just disrespect anything at any time, and either reset neutral or or get 20% from armor. The power level of poke > special > kameo had been toned down a lot, with a few outliers like baraka kano being ok. If khameleon was tuned we would have had a great meta, but adding back cyrax ain't it - and I say that as a Kenshi and Rain player who stand to benefit a ton.

Why remove the identity of assist fighters from a assist fighter game ?
MK1 is not a traditional assist game though. At least in its current iteration, it's more of a 1v1 fighting game with additional/optional moves in the form of "kameos". The game doesn't have the mechanics to support full on assists like Cyrax hori. heli. or Sektor spamming missiles, etc.

Personally, I love the game as a 1v1 with additional moves so I'd very much prefer it that way. But if NRS is not willing to rework kameo moves that break the game, then they should accommodate the game accordingly.
 
From a fun factor aspect cyrax being reverted brings back very fun teams like baraka cyrax,johnny cyrax,shao cyrax.

From a copetative balance aspect,this could be a good and a bad thing,depending on what changes are made post final kombat.

Right now a handfull of kameos dominate and a few others have niche synergies with a specific character that work and can compete.

If they can bring the lesser kameos to the levels of khameleon janet cyrax and co then the game should benefit from it and i guess bringing cyrax back was that first step in doing that.

I mean we'd have to go through kameos and scenarios one by one since there isn't a blanket answer for all kameo options, but a random super niche example would be PM covering torpedo with Stryker or Kano - I labbed a bunch of different kameo call timings with Geras, and there were actually a bunch of options, even some punishes that used time stop trading with the kameo to allow for a meterless freeze into combo.

With Cyrax, neutral is getting reset (at the bare minimum) and there is nothing to be done about it - hope you flawless blocked cause otherwise you're also eating a ton of additional chip.

Bro, fun is subjective. People do weird shit sometimes for fun. BUT, this is a fighting game. It's supposed to be competitive, that's part of the fun of the genre. When you bring BS like that in a competitive game and on top of that calling it fun, then I don't know what we even talking about here, lol.

I was mainly a Baraka-Cyrax before the patch that nerfed them. At first I was pissed. Now? I'm kinda loathing this team, even though the only thing they reversed was the chopper costing half a bar. Dunno how to explain it, the meta we've been getting was slowly appearing as going in a nice direction and now suddenly there's Rain with cancels getting safe/plus with Cyrax for free and I'm screaming internally.

Yeah, this is not good.

When they tackled Cyrax early on, almost no one in the community knew if Cyrax was good for the game or not. But now? I think it's clear that NRS did the right thing at the time.

I don't know if this is truly intended or a bug. I just can't tell with this company. In typical NRS fashion, there's no communication.

Even from just a basic balancing point it doesn't make much sense, let alone how boring it was watching the same kameo doing the same 1 move over and over lol.

If you have X amount of Kameos, but 90% of the characters are optimal with simply 1 of those kameos, then something is wrong. Ideally you'd want to balance more and more towards as many kameos having an optimal utility as possible when paired with characters.
 
I’ll say that I’ve never understood the people screaming for Cyrax to come back. He leads to extremely linear gameplay because he can’t be armored through, which removes counterplay and leads to autopiloting, over and over again.

The more people have to think, the more interesting the gameplay becomes. Helicopter over and over is the opposite.

Players choose certain kameos only to spam one, two at most, moves over and over again.

Whether that move is helicopter, low hat, grenades, ice armor, up punch, daggers, etc. I fail to see the difference.

After Final Kombat, NRS ought to revert as many kameo nerfs as possible.

Instead of shuffling tiers every three months and confining 75%+ of the roster to one or two kameos, perhaps the meta would be different with further reversions and/or buffs.

I applaud NRS for the Cyrax's return. Hopefully, grenades are next on the list.

I don't believe you can't see the difference. I think you can but since you don't really like this game for your own reasons, you prefer to see it becoming a meme and eventually failing completely.

In the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you're being a hypocrite while doing so then be prepared to be called out.
