I still think it's Ermac.
If I wasn't broke, I'd put $$$ on it.

I feel the same way about Sub...I WANT to keep leveling him up, and I know there are still a few matches in which he's undoubtedly useful, but IMO, there are too many fights I'd be more comfortable with Mac or Cyblax in.

Sub is viable. Dude, do you enjoy using him? If so, use him! The game is about having fun, not about using characters that are top tier. I love using Sub, so I use him. He's not as bad as everyone says.

Sub Zero is best used as a pocket character for specific match ups. Some characters (very few) have no bad match ups. Some have 2-5. Sub Zero has more than that, but it doesn't stop him from being tournament viable.

He has armor, the best d4 in the game, great pressure, good trades, ice clone is one of the best non-ex moves in the game, amazing corner pressure, traps that lead into a new combo. People want to say that he's bottom five, I want to say those people can go to fucking hell.

Yes, but I play MK for Xbox. I'll see if I have it for PS3 and then give me some time to get accustomed to the change in controller if I do.

I doubt EVO will have any shortage of KLs, Mileenas, Kitana, and Raidens lol.

But I agree he is not bottom five. Probably bottom 10 tho.
Tom said he found an exploit thatmakes every char but csz win against sub, but I think he is trolling. If he isn't, then he is the worst char in the game.

Edit: Tom said his new main is top 5 and doesn't has a face. I don't know whats his top 5, but there are really few characters without a face that i would include in mine.

I can say I have exploits that make every character without a large hitbox ruin Sektor's day. And I'm not trolling. I think Sektor is in the same boat as Sub Zero but for different reasons. Sektor has a huge universal weakness, Sub Zero's is more involved in match ups. Regardless, they are both tournament viable - and Sub/Sektor players will bitch, and bitch they should. But there's never a time to blame the character for a loss.

Ice clone is an amazing pressure tool. It forces your opponent to back peddle allow you to gain free pressure. Perhaps I think this because my two mains don't have armor... maybe I wouldn't give a fuck if I was Raiden or Jax.

I don't think Sub Zero is bottom 10. He's probably somewhere right above it however, in the "somewhat tournament viable" tier.

low hotboxes destroy sub as well. Ice clone won't give sub free pressure, it doesn't makes your opponent unable to walk back and throw a projectile or counter his advancing. Also, his pressure won't last that long if he gets in... If he catches you not blocking, you will probably eat around 25% anyway, not even worth breaking.

His corner pressure isn't that much of a big deal against most of the cast anymore.

No characters should be blamed for a loss, they don't pick themselves on the selection screen.

Playing 100% Sub-Zero in a tournament full of Kitanas, Kabals an Raidens isn't viable, period. You might make it to the top 8 with a big deal of effort, but you will never win. Sektor won't either, and many others.

Edit: His 2 is pretty fast, but it doesn't hits mid. The rest of the normals pretty much sucks and his strings are slow.

Tom also said his new char HAD a face.

Also, Ermac isn't high up. Not even top 16 perhaps. It isn't Scarlet either, she never had a face.

Does anyone else think that MAYBE Tom's new character is Kenshi? I could see him using Kenshi, very similar to Sub-Zero in that his combos can be devastating and he doesn't have too many bad match-ups.

Wait so is Tom playing a character that has no real top player representing that character? If so, then I don't see how his character is one of the top 5 (if we're basing it on his Bradycast top 6 which were Jax, Raiden, Kabal, Kitana, Kung Lao and Cyrax). I thought it was Kano to begin with but idk.

For casual play, I totally agree with everything you stated. The game is about having fun and playing whoever the hell you like most.

But if we're talking about be competitive in tournaments I couldn't disagree more.

YEAH! GO TO HELL SCUMBAGS! LoL! But seriously, you're totally right, but if there's something that I think that totally fucks up Sub-Zero is that his 2 doesn't hit mid. Which makes his 2,1 pressure not work against half of MK9 cast. And against those characters he is sooooo easily exposed, cuse his pressure is resumed to what? D4 non stop.

Sub's pressure isn't bad when his 2 connects on crouch characters, man. And I have to agree with STH, Ice Clone is one of the best non enhanced move of the game. Too bad the enhanced version just suck ass lol.

I also think Brady is trolling about that Sub's exploit. But anyways Tom's top 5:

1. Raiden
2. Jax
3. Kitana
4. Kabal
5. Kung Lao

Evey character above has a face. Raiden we have PL, B Wizz and another dude that I forgot his nickname lol. Jax we got CDJR and Tyrant. Kitana we have 16bit and Mr. Mileena. Kabal we have REO. Hmm... Wait a second, I can't recall anyone that mains Kung Lao right now. Is there is any pro player maining KL that I can't recall? Of course PL's KL is a beast, but I think his main now is Raiden, isn't it? Anyways, my memory sucks too much weed... lol

Could also be Noob or Kano but I highly doubt it. You know, considering he wants to actually win. :p

yeah i agree with you too. But wouldnt it be more fulfilling to win with a character that you like and you know is low tier? Especially if you do really well in the tournament. Like I use Kabal, because he's been my favorite in the series for awhile now. I would use him if he was the worst in the game lol. Yeah though, I see what you mean of course.

Raiden... duh.

You have to pair SZ with another character to have a chance. Just depends on who you draw in a bracket and how skilled you are as a player. Sub can kind of dominate someone with inferior fundamentals, regardless of who the character is (goes for all characters really.).
