There is a head on a pole behind you
I just hope we won't have a couple OP kameos, I want to see diversity online and in tourneys. I don't care if it's crazy, as long as it's fun to play and watch.
Yeah, I worry about this too. I actually thought Frost looked really strong until they said that all of her moves are summons. I think the kameo tier list will eventually look similar to the primary character one with a couple of S-tier kameos that everyone uses, most other kameos being good or situational, and a few that are pretty useless. Only time will tell, but that's my prediction.

Yeah, really hope they've made it so it's more on the side of overall craziness over a few standouts.

Well, considering they are making the entire game built on top of the kameo system to begin with, I have high hopes that they are very much aware of giving too much broken shit to characters. The kameos arent a fun afterthought shoehorned into the game late in the development stage, they seem to be the foundation, pretty much like MKXs variations were (and unlike MK11 variation system which IMO was rushed out and poorly executed).

seems there will be "better" kameos, just like there is better fighters in any game... but there is the chance that Kameos may have diversity based on what is "missing" from a character. Like if you need a antizoning tool, you use a Kameo... I do not think the fighers or the kameos are going to be in a vacume... none are good or bad without the other and the "other" may change with each fighter.

I think there’s going to be a ton of Kameo variety. But the cool thing is they can also buff/nerf the Kameos too if some are too strong/weak.

Like I said before, the Kameo mechanic + the tons of combo options characters have has me extremely excited about the creativity and freedom of this game

where is the fun in exploring it yourself then when you get everything chewed up weeks or month before release.
there's a difference in what I'm asking for and actually getting my hands on it. it's not like this way hasn't been done before. the KI devs did character breakdowns and they went heavily in depth.

thats exactly what its gonna be. its just the way it is. up to the devs to properly tune things. i just hope the good/fun stuff doesn't get shit on

Compared to Scorpion's where they seemingly just rushed through with just "oh he has an air spear and a couple other neat but very basic moves", these three were VERY in depth. I was watching Smoke in awe and just like I will be messing around with him for sure. Soooo many mixups, tools, and awesome animations. Scorpion has always been my fav for 30+ years, but I barely have any idea what they gave him compared with everything they did for everyone else! Like damn, can someone give him another breakdown that actually talks about move properties, high, low, overhead, etc.? This KK was just so much better and more hype than the first (ok Johnny looked damn good).

Edit: So far the only characters I've seen a bit and still have concerns for good/fun they'll be are Scorpion and Kitana both of who are my favorites of course, lmao. Hopefully with Open Beta I'll get to play for myself to see if Kitana is actually more fun (for me at least) to play as then alot of people were saying after the closed Beta I wasn't in.
honestly I feel like they did slightly better with smoke but it still feels like he just got skimmed over. geras got a lot of time. guess that was tyler bias

This game is insane.

It's just nutty.

Like, the gameplay team is going crazy, they are COOKING.
This is what happens when they have time to go at their own pace and make a game, rather than trying to fit into the 2-year release window. Some of these things would be impossible to iron out without the extra time to give them some love.

That Don't Impress Me Much
I was okay with them breaking down gameplay and moves but to play the reveal trailers again that have already been posted everywhere ... reductive, filler,
Why do you think I'm new to everything lmfao. I been playing fighting games since I was 7. Eternal Champions represent.
MK2 and SF2 were my firsts. I think I had/have somewhere every version of MK2. MK2 for SNES was I believe the first game for nintendo that actually had blood/violence. Plus at the time was using the maximum cartridge space. I still remember MK being released and was okay with it but MK2 .... wow. It was so exciting seeing Mileena's victory sai twirl. and Shao Kahn and Kintaro in the Colliseum and the crowd cheering. I still can play that an UMK3 with nearly every character like that back of my hand. The mid-90s was such a great time. The arcades were crowded. loud fun 90s music playing like Ace of Base, Shania Twain even, Green Day, Salt N peppa, Better Than Ezra, and even the ocassional fun 80s songs.

My thoughts on the Kast:

- I loved the look at the art direction and process behind making the Stages. That was very cool.

- Smoke looks fantastic.

- Ashrah does not look like hot garbage. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but she actually looks alright and tolerable for a 3D Era character.

- Geras looks fantastic.

- Lei Mei looks like hot garbage.

Overall though, I really enjoyed the Kast and the info and glimpses we got. Last night I pre-ordered the Premium Edition of the game, so I'll be able to enjoy the Closed Beta next weekend (while recovering from a medical thing I have to do on Friday).

Damn though, the cost of the Premium Edition is nuts, even with the $15.00 discount I got.

It is better this way
Smoke and Geras look awesome, but not necessarily my kind of character, but I can see why you guys are hyped. I like Ashrah too.

I wish they did a Sub-Zero cameo full breakdown like they did with Lao.
