If this was the mindset we wouldn’t have ANY betas on pc…yet we’ve had a lot this year and tekken said pc was in from the jump

idk man..
My suspicion as to why there's no Stress Test or Beta on PC is because the PC version is a port not being developed by NetherRealm Studios themselves. The only platforms getting the Stress Test and Beta are the ones NetherRealm is directly developing for.

Speaking of of NRS only developing the console versions.
My main complain is it is making me seriously considering buying a console just based on MKX and 11 were at launch on PC.

Mortal Kombat X was in rough shape at launch on PC, but Mortal Kombat 11 was overall excellent. What issues did you have with the game at launch?

I had a lot of crashes at launch.
I was apparently in the minority in this, but it caused me to be weary lol.

You always will have less headache with consoles but you have to pay for it in other ways. At the end of the day mk11 runs fine, maybe it had issues on release but they got fixed.

Ah. There was one patch that caused performance issues for me, I believe it was frame drops but I'd have to go check (I did a YouTube video on it back in the day). This was around the time Shang dropped.

A patch or so later, and things were fixed for me.

The game kinda looks like an expansion to MK11 rather than it's sequel (technically reboot).
I'm pretty sure it was, someone leaked at nrs they were doing an expansion with firegod liu kang then fast forward a few years and we got this.

After seeing some stress-test gameplay i have my concerns with footsies/movement in MK1. Offensive gameplay looks kinda slow, clunky and unsafe again. It definitely looks like NRS puts too much focus on "special moves" and "combo's" again.

I really hope they loosen up the movement a bit. I didn't like the movement in MK11.. And I’m already tired of seeing fatal blow and fatalities play out in the exact same way they did in 11. They’re too long.

replay from the stress-test thread is basically what i meant to say..

Definetely feels too clunky and sluggish in compare to Tekken or Street Fighter games and i am not happy with this. This gameplay is so close to be an interactive cinematic experience rather than a fighting game.

Here is something i noticed while playing the stress test;

  • Sub-Zero using Frost's Brutality win pose.
  • Kenshi and Sub-Zero sharing the same panth design, expecting the same for Scorpion. i think there is a big discount or something on that panth in Liu Kang's new Era.
  • We have same voice actors for Kitana, Kenshi and Liu Kang yes but we also have same voice effects from previous titles, same for Johnny Cage.
  • Only visual improvement that i noticed is all about more depth to the arenas but if you play MK11 after MK1 you can feel like MK11 is superior to MK1, especially character designs looks more detailed.
  • Fatal Blow startup animations, character interactions on the select screen are directly copy paste from Injustice, gameplay camera angle feels like Injustice too.
  • There is only one New game mechanic and it is upblock, which is barely a mechanic. Kameos, Air combos, armored wake-ups... All comes from the previous titles.
  • i think this game has started as Injustice 3 then something happened and they cancalled it, decided make it a Mortal Kombat game, this theory explains everything i mentioned above, not enough time to make everything New from the start.

The game is literally in slow motion, and if we keep chit chatting about random stuff, they arent gonna change that, and you are going to see the same slo mo combos for the next 4 years. We let them make mk11 clunky and slow because the graphics were so cool and the beta had us all in awe, lets learn from that

i mentioned that several times on another topics but if you think they gonna add run button because of your complain rant title it is time to wake up. 3 months left.

Because we prefer to complain about Kitana's hair and complain about people that have complaints of a game that isn't out jet...

  • Should they implement super armor, or 2 - 3 hits of armor so that these moves wouldn't get blown up as easily.
  • or should they let everyone have a 6 frame wake up option with 1 hit of armor. the animation would be different per character , but would negate getting your armor blown up.

Do the kameo wakeup reversal options work better in these situations instead (such as Jax's arm wave)? Unsure how well those operate as I've not seen any stress test examples of people trying.

Ed was asking for feedback, and legit every comment I read talked about the speed (minus the Stan accounts) they have to be aware lol

I put combo vids on 1.5x playback and they look almost UMK3 style, maybe 1.2x faster animations (and run button) would be perfect

It doesn't quite work like that but it's close enough that yes that's a possibility. Hell probably the likely outcome. It took FOREVER but we've finally dragged the major FGC studios into providing good netcode, but crossplay is still a "ehh do we want to bother" feature for some reason.

It technically does…sometimes with pc ports and or optimization they have been different from console counterparts sometimes…and again a lot of the other studio fighting games aren’t shipping their games out to a different studio.

mk does have a track record of doing this sometimes but it’s still entirely possible that due to this it could effect pc cross play with current gen. It does seem possible this might actually be a port this time around due to not being in house and the focus on consoles.

Will have to see.

Not a different game entirely, but a different version. It's a port.

Crossplay is possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. We'll see in time.

I think there's no MK1 PC Stress test for a much more simple reason. They don't want it to get SF6'd.

Not the thread for it but i recently got a pc laptop with the xbox app preinstalled, does that mean i can play xbox MK1 instead of the pc version?!
