Daegon is very intelligent.
Formed the most ancient and most esoteric organization in Earthrealm- the Red Dragon
Has been awake for thousands of years but is very elusive (either Raiden couldn't catch him or he allows his clan in Earthrealm because they can help in Moetal Kombat, even if Daegon is not a good guy- or because Argus was Raiden's friend and Raiden doesn't know what happened so he takes care of his son)
Has his own dragon (imagine summoning that in-game)
Probably responsible for why Edenia lost, as the lore tells us he killed his father, the Protector God Argus, 10.000 years ago, and Shao Kahn could not conquer Edenia as long as Argus, Taven and Daegon were around
Isn't really 100% a bad guy as he was a hero to his people, but Shinnok influenced him and made him kill his parents
Knows Ancient Edenian spells to summon Onaga in Goro's body
His organization is not a typically bad one, like the Black Dragon which derives from it. The Red Dragon has a strict Code of Honour. They do not kill indiscriminately, but they do punish those who betray them (Kenshi)
Is brothers with Taven and Rain, which would be a great dynamic to see, and son of the greatest sorceress in Edenia- the Lady of Falme, Delia.

And this MKX comic season 2 outlkn3 that I did with my friends whonliv3 the lore. I recommend you guys to download it and open it with OpenOffice, it has moving images that enhance the story. Picks up from where MKX ckmic Season 1 ended and goes until before the MKX game starts,.covering events that we know happened: Goro becoming Onaga, Shb-Zero and Scorpion making peace, Takeda becoming Chujin, Noob Saibot in the Nethereralm, Kenshi captured by the Red Dragon etc.

I’d be okay with Aftermath 2.0 and giving the ugliest plain looking characters in mk universe a second chance, but it’s just not happening. Logically speaking there’s no story coming so no need to even get into it. Glad we got all the fake leaks out of the way, still a chance for Kai!! :)

Daegon is not intelligent enough to realize he's being used by Shinnok in Armageddon's Story Mode.
He even cowers before Shinnok. What a badass.

By the way if I remember right, Argus and Delia turn out to be alive the whole time. So he can't even do that right.

And the Red Dragon? You mean the jobber army comprised of Mavado, Hsu Hao and some Lizardmen he made in his basement?
You mean that awesome organization? I'm sure Dark Raiden saw these losers as below him and focused on real threats like Onaga, The Deadly Alliance and Shao Kahn.

I'm not interested in reading your fanfic because we have another "Daegon is cool" fanfic potentially coming next year :^)

And you should read that easyupload file. It's not just about Daegon. He has a role, but so do all.

It's about the events that should have been in the Season 2 of the Comic. You will find them at least half fun.

Would the best thing ever, but unfortunately Kai will never return. They can say they almost brought him to X story mode, but I don’t buy it. Also zero interest in Armageddon typical black guy with dreads and big body frame like he stepped out of Def Jam’s fighting game. OG spiritual with body print, handstand and capoeira style fighting.

That pack is glorious though, my 3 favourite 3d era characters left to be included in Kai, Havik and Ashrah. Add one of my all-time favourites in Quan Chi and I’d have all the 3d era characters I will ever need.

Like if Taven and Daegon come back, whatever fine. I don't like Sindel or Sheeva, but I wasn't worried about them coming back. The issue is who they are. They were built from day 1 to be the new center focus of Mortal Kombat's story. So if they do show up, the whole game will likely revolve around them. And they are WAY too fucking boring.

We finally got Liu Kang back as the protagonist in MK11. I don't want to see them waste the spotlight on those bums again

And how dare I not like irredeemable trash from the 3D Era?! What a fake fan I must be!

Only you get your favorites really, a looooot of fans won't be getting theirs and it's not gonna be pretty once it's announced.

I'll level with you @mattteo If I didn't see you before from other MK sites years ago, I would assume that whole leak is your fanfic.
Because it's tailor made for you really, you have your 2 favorite characters with massive roles in a new story mode. Daegon even sounds like the Daegon you want, with a goatee/beard combo.

But I have seen you before and I know even you wouldn't write this garbage. The plot to Aftermath 2.0 is a special type of stupid.

So I'm not really mad when you get defensive and call me names, It's cool. This is your dream pack and that's fine.

I don't like Aftermath either, I don't like that ending, but I do kind of believe the leaked characters are true. If not, fuck the DVD guy, I still think Havik and Daegon are definitely coming 100%.

We know Havik's coming either way and we've known that for a while, what with his assist in the datamines labeled to be removed.
I'm just hoping his voice and personality are like Deception Konquest portayal of him and not....that storymode version.

Meanwhile, I'm just chilling and thinking about DVD's leak not having guests, and Ed kinda confirming this in his latest interview ...

I liked the Havik in Deception because he was soft spoken but convicted in his beliefs. Helped that his moveset made him stand out even in the 3D Era. He was okay in the comics but Havik as a villain is too....predictable? Kinda takes away what makes Havik so special if he's relegated to a standard villain role. And in DVD's Story Leak he does NOT come off as a magnificent bastard, he turns into a big dumb monster and goes "rawr"

And I see those threads. Rather than admit the jig is up or even deleting his account he's keeping up an air of cool confidence.
Why even bother at that point, y'know?

Kinda funny that ever since we entered this weird "Leak" vs "Leak" speculation there haven't been any other fake leaks rolling around.
As for Ed I like him, I think he seems like a really nice personable guy, but I wouldn't trust him for shit on anything.

But we'll see once they reveal the next batch of characters.
I look forward to the reaction on twitter when people see Reiko, Taven and Daegon instead of the ninjas they're hoping to see again.

I think you got your leaks mixed up, man.

DVD's leak never said anything about Havik transforming into a three headed monkey. That's another guy who wrote a novel about the story mode.

They match up too well together like the Taven+Shinnok fusion dance, The Elder Gods coming back and Sareena being cut
They also describe bits of Rain and Mileena which have matched up to now and I haven't seen him say "that leak is bs" either.
If DVD's leak is on the mark then so is that Story Mode.

Also has he ever leaked the movie skins before?

You're mixing up leaks.

The reaction will be the same that was for Tanya, Bo'Rai Cho, Frost, Sheeva, Robicop, Rambo. People will like whatever NRS gives. If they get humiliated during the story mode,they will be played less (Quan Chi, Reptile, Kano). If they get promoted a lot like heroes, then they will be played more (Cassie in MKX, much more promoted than Cassie in MK11 where she is only 15th most played).

Everyone was yelling "no Rambo!". And then Rambo came and people were like "wait..he's pretty fun".

What do you think will happen if they bring Daegon and make him this new character Universal threat in a badass red suit, with dragon summining and magic in gameplay?? People will like him too, they will want to learn more about him.

Peopel will like whichever character NRS does, not just the ninjas. You are just focusing on a few polls that have been made in the recent year. The perception about characters changes based on what NRS doees in longer time. Look at Shang Tsung. Not many remember that he was pretty bottom of the barrel in MK9 and people stopped caring about him and even NRS humiliated him in the story mode. Many believed he was never coming back. But, with time, perception of Shang Tsung change and CHT appearance and Aftermath managed to make him a fan fsvourite again.

Clearly you don't remember the reaction to BRC, Leatherface and Alien busting out of Baraka's chest in that Game Awards trailer. It's not as positive as you want to remember. People were pretty mad. I know the Baraka community was pissed off enough to let NRS know about it, Ed Boon mentions this in an interview about bringing Baraka back for MK11.

Not even the old polls I'm talking general twitter replies from everything NRS posts. Just heaps of "Bring back [Ninja], bring back [Cyborg] bring back [3D Era Woman]" You really think people are gonna go "Oh wow, fuck Ermac DAEGON IS BACK WHOO HOO!"

Look you seem to think people will accept it, be happy about it and buy it because it's shiny, new and the story mode will make them look sooper badass. And the character I think of when you say that is Jacqui Briggs.

We're not going to agree on this so I won't bother explaining anymore.
We'll just have to see what happens when it happens.

Same will happen. You think NRS gor so scared of that reaction that they suddenly decided for MK11 they're going to play it safe with only famous characters?? They already took risks with Jacqui, Forst, Sheeva.

Surprises in the KP3 will range from Dsrgon, Taven to Kai or Ashrah.

These are leaks that I see as truthful, not "leaks" with Reptile, Ermac, Cyrax, Sektor.

Imagine thinking that the final DLC for their most popular MK yet will be for Z-tier characters instead of popular characters who will print money.

They took no risks with Jacqui and Frost. They were in the base game alongside a ton of fan favourites, it was safe to chuck them in there. Sheeva is also more popular than Daegon, Taven, Kai or Ashrah. That's a fact.

Even the lowest Trilogy Character like Sheeva is still a step above the lowest 3D Character like Taven.
I wouldn't classify her as a risk.

The small risks taken in Base+KP1+KP2 are combined with Guests, Klassic picks and a female character to make it less of a sausage-fest.
This leak has none of the above, making it an even bigger risk.

Of course you see the leaks as truthful it has daegon and a bunch of other 3D characters in it.
I'd be surprised if you didn't jump on it immediately and not question anything else about it.

Can I just make one stray observation? In the era of Digital Releases and followup content you have different Bundles with different art. Something that draws people's eyes so they can say "ooh! maybe I should buy that"

Who's on the cover of MKXL?
Sub-Zero overlooking all 4 Guests, Triborg and Goro.

Who's on the cover of Aftermath?
Hilariously enough nobody in KP2. Shang Tsung, Fire God Liu and Raiden are on the cover instead.

As I scroll to the psn store to get the movie skins, who's on the cover of Ultimate?
The three from Aftermath, Mileena in front and Rain, Rambo, Robocop and Terminator at her sides.

Doesn't really add to my point but I just thought it was funny.
No 3D era reps on there huh? Wonder who's face is going to be on the cover of Aftermath 2.0
