You’re still reverting to the same “she’s never missed a game” argument as though that means anything in the context of Mortal Kombat. Mileena missing a game has nothing to do with her popularity or lack thereof and it’s deluded to think otherwise. I’ll reiterate, since it wasn’t clear the first time: there are several staples that aren’t popular at all yet are consistently included.

This is also 2020, not 1995, so using fight scenes in a 25 year old movie as an argument to support Kitana’s relevancy is grasping at straws. Mileena has received more attention, more advertisement and has been the topic of far more conversation than Kitana has for YEARS. I love Kitana too, but refusing to believe otherwise is just stubborn.

What advertisement did Mileena have recently? Definitely not MK11. Definitely not MKX. MK9? A game that came out a decade ago? Oh...
Mileena is more popular yet she’s NOT in the last previous movie and it took people threatening others to get her included in this game. While Kitana has been a key part to the story for the past 3 MK games. Hmm...
I remember back in MKX when Kitana wasn’t shown for a while and people were losing their minds. Everyone was anticipating her. I don’t remember that hype for Mileena at all. It’s like y’all are hopping on the bandwagon. She’s dope but she’s not that dope lol. And I’m saying that as a Mileena fan. If you guys didn’t threaten lives, we probably wouldn’t have her.
And AGAIN, I LOVE MILEENA. IM GLAD SHES IN. Y’all mad that she’s not as popular as y’all want her to be lol. It’s ok. She’s still popular. She’s still in the game. Y’all will be alright

Eh, no. The main debate was whether or not Kitana is more popular than Mileena, which several of us replied to offering legitimate, irrefutable reasoning for why we believe Mileena to be more popular. We never said it mattered and, again, YOU were the one who started being hostile and resorting to your typical petulant passive aggressions. It’s blatantly obvious by the language you use that you have some sort of unresolved bitterness and hostility towards Mileena fans. Work on that instead of projecting in a MILEENA thread.

So after I said Mileena isn’t the most popular character (which is all I said), I got called salty and I got called dumb. Yet I’m hostile lol. Ok
And yea Mileena fans are stupid af lol. The crazy ones at least. The ones with sense aren’t the ones I’m shading but everyone knows how crazy they were.

It really does feel like NRS is making a conscious effort to ween the mainstream off of her though. It’s clear who NRS wants as the female representatives of their game, but Sonya has a lot of legacy behind her, regardless of how tired the community may be of her.

As much as Sonya means to the franchise as a whole I do think you're right and I believe it's the right move to make.

Kitana & Mileena just have better marketability; A more interesting backstory and lore, more interesting move sets and they get cosplayed way more often than I have ever seen a Sonya cosplay, meaning visibility and potential intrigue from new fans. Most non-fans can even recognize them for using the Fans and Sai's as weapons and from their colours respectively.
It wouldn't be the worst thing ever if Sonya got relegated to the backseat and the Kahn sisters took center stage for the franchise, it might even be better for it.
What would be interesting though, is if Kano, Jax and Sonya were not on the base roster of MK12, I wonder how vocal people would be to bring them in as DLC..

Yes. That’s my opinion. Idgaf about scorpion or subzero. I definitely don’t buy the game for them, nor am I using them. I’ve never used Scorpion or subzero since the release of MK11.

I've never seen a subzero or scorpion fan. The only people that use him are the WiFi casuals. Personally I don’t see the appeal of them. The only reason I like them now is because they look hot.

Kitana was added in to deception so clearly there was some demand there. I’m very positive if it was the other way around and Mileena was in this game instead of kitana, we would’ve seen the same outcry, but probably not as pathetic

Mileena is VERY popular. Again, I’m not denying that. But there is absolutely no way she is on Sub or Scorp level of popularity lol.

Kitana definitely is not the female face of MK. I would think faster of Sonya Blade than Kitana. Mileena embodies what MK stands for as well. Kitana is popular and easily recognisable but I doubt that at this point she’s more popular than Mileena.

First of all... who is “you guys” because I certainly did not threaten anyone to have Mileena into the game. I think it’s beyond stupid to still use the “NRS got threatened, that’s why Mileena is in” argument. Didn’t NRS employees state THEMSELVES that they added Mileena because of fans like LOSTyGIRL?? So using that argument is tired and outdated. Maybe you should keep up with what NRS is saying, so you won’t say shit like this.

Maybe if you read beter you would’ve known that’s actually not what I said. I said “think it’s safe to assume that Mileena is the most popular character”. Emphasis on assume, I never said she is the most popular character, but since Mileena has been the talk of the day since the release of MK11, it seems like she is. Even a very popular rapper cosplayed as Mileena.
