>>WILL SLIDE IN NEUTRAL<<
So NRS' intention for throws was for it to be a 50/50 guess into 30% life being lost and people aren't advocating for any changes to the throw system? If throws had actual different animations, like Kano/Kung Lao's back throw vs the front throw, it wouldn't be such a meme to make fun of the throws in this game.

They weren't complained about as much in MK9/X because they didn't have a KB attached to them. Losing over 30% unbreakable of your life becaus you happened to guess wrong is awful design choice.
Yeah I mean NRS wanted the throw/strike meta and the throw KBs just accentuates that. 30% is really about the same amount you're going to get from taking a mid string on most characters and you leave yourself very open on a throw so i really don't see the issue at all. It allows you to enforce mindgames on the throw by switching between your F and B throw, especially on characters like Kung Lao/Nightwolf who get so much on one of their throws but essentially nothing on the other.

Don't see anything wrong with throws, alot of characters have no means of anything else besides shorthops, staggers and throws. Only thing still pissing off is no conectivity filter, and some characters still get punished by breakaways

Awful implementation of a throw idea. A better method to making throws more fair and not just a 50/50 guess, especially on KB throws, would be different throw animations, similar to Tekken. It's ludicrous to think characters have 'no way of opening you up' the solution is to utilize a 50/50 throw that may have a KB attached to it.

It makes sense to me for the player who lands a high hitting throw to be rewarded. You can't duck throws in many other games and punish them for max damage, so the trade off is that they are harder to react to, do 2% damage even on tech and have the 50/50/what side mixup.

I tried to throw a yo-yo away. It was impossible.
This is all ring rust at this point since I haven't played in about a month but man, I just played a Jackie that must've been +10000 on block after her d1. No matter how fast I pressed my d1, I would get stuff. Hell, I'm Terminator and IIRC, he has one of the fastest d1 in the game.

Just 4 more matches till that Kano Brutal

Yeah it's only -3 for some reason. Reminds me of Jason's d1 in MKX.

The way people play Jax on KL makes me want to put my fist through my monitor. Forward 3 spam the entire match.

There needs to be serious rework done on defense and how they vary between combos and characters. I just had a guy cornered and he blocked everything while I cannot escape one single combo string or for example Erron Block dive kick (a few times in a row and match over).

Also not giving you the time to breathe, that you can be grabbed and what not while already falling down is a just stupid. Glad I don't play online too much, but it's very frustrating. I like a boxing style match or just crazy like Dragon Ball Fighterz, not this in your face spamming with no fun options to counter. Dodging Sheeva's Stomp for example should be easier. Also Fatal Blow should be switched off for competition. It's such a weak cop out. It really depends on your opponent of course, but some mechanics are just weak, especially defensively. And timing of moves, no way should an offensive player be able to get his move in quicker after I blocked his or hers or just be able to hit me not even half a second into me standing up. There should be punishment for at least getting blocked. That's just a major flaw. And lastly, spamming should be countered somehow. IF you do a combination 3 times then it will err or something.

Erron Black online is some ol' Boooooool Shitake mushrooms.

Call me a scrub I don't care but these online people with 186ms are completely carried because their opponent is handicapped

Just a guess, but are you new to fighting games?

Tom Brady saying that Cetrion, who is designed to be a zoning keep-away character having better options and pressure up close than Shao Kahn really hurt me in my soul. ...Cause it's 100% true.

Well yeah. There's a very good reason Cetrion has been considered top 3-5 for the entire game's lifespan: despite being THE premier zoner, she also has access to fantastic stagger pressure and safety for some odd reason. Sure her combo damage is on the lower end, but that isn't anywhere near enough of a tradeoff for everything else she gets. Toss in some of the best dashes (if not THE best back dash) in the game and you've got a recipe for obvious top tier material.

Compared to that ABSOLUTE insane bullshit that most of the characters get away with on this shit why in the fuck does Shao Kahn's forward 3,4 have to have a gap in it... Like. For fucks sake. The character is already just pressing back and forward 4 the entire game. Like damn. Give my man fucking something out here..

Even though I don't play Shao and don't really enjoy going against him, I'll have to agree with you there. He doesn't need to be punishable after the FB gap, just don't let him cancel into specials or throw.

It's insane to go for pretty much is only whatsoever reliable mid option and if they flawless block the insanely easy to flawless block gap Shao you get full combo punished. All you have to do against him is just crouch block the entire game and don't press on any of his strings and you win easily. ...
I hope the characters I like playing see some at least DECENT buffs in the next big patch. Maining Kano, Shao Kahn and Terminator is pretty fucking miserable experience. Kano is the only character in the game you have to mash like an absolute maniac scrub, just play fucking YOLO out of your mind the entire match to get any sort of offense in. Shao Kahn's options are all a joke, and all of his variations are a joke that don't even come close to remedying his issues. Only DF Terminator I wouldn't mind if he didn't get any real buffs, because you can be an absolute terror... if they don't realize that you have T-Rex arms for range.

Now that we have a GOOD Cassie skin in this game, can we get the undercut? Is that so much to ask? Please. JUST GIVE ME BACK MY GIRL.

Just a guess, but are you new to fighting games?
Nope, but it's seriously bollocks. I get it, you kicked my ass and I'm falling, but then to be able to just combo off of that and keep going is just ridiculous. Also seems opponents can just break through my armor with so many moves while I cannot. Also someone starting a combo before I even get up and able to just hit me is also bull.

I really dont mean any offense here, but I really think you would benefit and be more pleased with playing the game with more practice

I surely do, but still it's a bad engine. I've never experienced this with any fighting game before, ever. Sure you can spam moves in other fighting games and do combos, but nothing like this.

I can only offer some advice that tends to work for me in your specific examples given. For Erron Black's dropkick, it's pretty much a 50/50 mix after you get hit by it once. The option I usually take is to just keep stand blocking until the EB commits to something, if it's the slide I feel that you're better off taking that than the KB off the mid, since you will get your plethora off wake up options after you get knocked down.

As for the other issues you are having, they seem to be just complaints floating in the ether with nothing to pin them down for actual advice. There are punishments for getting blocked IF the attacker commits to an unsafe or flawless blockable string, but it's (MOSTLY, some characters are granted fully bullshit) fair for the attacker to employ strings that are safe for pressure.

Sheeva's stomp only takes practice to dodge, unless they read your dodge with V1. Just wait for the screen to shift positions and back or forward dash. Every character in the game can get out of the telestomp this way, and if the Sheeva player is just spamming it then you will come out ahead on trades by just being able to dodge one of them, since you can full combo punish very easily after dashing it. And idk about defensive options being weak, I think most people agree that being knocked to the ground is almost more advantageous than knocking someone to the ground considering you have like a hundred wakeup options in this game.
