If you have bar and buff on, each touch should be dealing at least 30% optimally. He does pretty good damage, but you need to keep buff on. He gets guaranteed buff after certain knockdowns like BF1AMP, DB3AMP, DB2, BF3, F32 (basically anything with >30f advantage). You can sneak in buff after throws and BF3AMP, but you lose the chance to OKI. Cancelling into buff is possible from strings and normals but all are very negative on block AND on hit.
It reminds me of Balanced Kenshi in MKX. Any time you get a knockdown, throw out a Spirit Charge to build Meter. And that's evolved into learning all the situations it's safe to put the Buff on. Raijin being made up of parts of all my old mains has made it a real buttery smooth transition.

12 is +3 on hit
F3 and b3 are both 0
And 24 is +1
but most certainly everything is death on block, the best frame data came from b31 cancel (-13 and fb gap) and f4(-13)
B12 is -20 on block, I think it’s crazy when I see people get away with it.

@Mandolore1123 @SparkySanders @All Raiden Players
I finished more Towers today, and I don't know you guys haven't lost your damn minds with these stubby ass pokes and the Black Adam tiny uppercut for the last year. Thank the Elder Gods for these buffs, but whoever made this version of Raiden should really go back to Making Raiden School.

Not really sure what you're talking about with stubby pokes, tbh, and I mained Raiden all the way up until Spawn came out. Dude has reach.

I honestly feel the same way when I'm playing someone with shorter buttons than Raiden. His d1, d3, and d4 are all legit.
All right, super cool. Just have to adjust my spacing, then. I need to get more comfortable being further up close anyway because I don't Throw nearly as much as I ought to.

I noticed you mention Raiden is 'simple' in a status update, but I actually don't agree with that once you get into his real meat. Raiden has more plus frames on hit than other characters, so you want to balance between getting huge jailing frames on people making them impatient and keeping good spacing.
As Mando mentioned in an earlier post, hitting someone with f2(+18) or f3(+15) gives you a guaranteed strike/throw/overhead/low mix attempt.
Plus now our pressure has improved with the buffed b12 1+3 string and f32 overhead (used to just be a mid).

See page 60 for more details on this.

What I meant, specifically with Raijin, is that it's not the variation for high combo counts or hit-confirming launching specials. It hits hard and fast, in a way that's not super complex or open to things going terribly wrong, like dropping stuff or getting Breakaway'ed.

This I agree with. Low hit count but still brings the D.
Also having an ability as unique and useful as Quick Charge/Discharge is fucking cool.

It really really is. As I've said before, I was almost all Doomsday (with a side of Deathstroke) in Injustice 1, and I poured more days than I can remember into him, so it's a style I'm super okay going back to, with Discharge instead of Trait as my Get That Shit Outta Here move. I love my main man Noob and Dark Sabbath, but he can't do it on his own. Same as I don't think Raiden by himself can be championship material.
But together? Das güd shit, just like DoomStroke. One is a space-controlling combo machine, the other is a fortress with incredible corner carry.

And the Amish costume helps. I never used any suit except Regime Doomsday with the mohawk, and I feel the same about Amish Raiden.

I've generally felt Raiden was a very simple, fundamental character, but that there's a lot of little things in his tool kit that can be used to optimize his game.

He rewards good fundamentals and neutral play. His depth imo comes from the player’s understanding of spacing and how to utilise his many gimmicks to catch people off guard. He’s full of jank but can still be very oppressive if you play solidly

Has anyone else wonder why Raiden is......probably the only character who hasn't gotten a single new Brutal and why he didn't get his trailer Brutal like Scorpion did in X and 11?

While I completely agree and have wondered the same (Summoned Lightning is BEGGING for a brutality), his trailer brutality can be pretty reasonably interpreted as his forward throw brutality.

That said, why the fuck does Super Bolt get a brutality and a krushing blow? They keep touching this move in patches, too, what gives?

My guess would be that it's because Super Bolt is fucking rad and they feel guilty having it be so bad, even if it's kustoms.

My hope is that they are considering adding a fourth variation or giving Truth and Light Super Bolt.

T&L would not be in any better shape with Super Bolt, I'm afraid. The variation failed at the drawing board and needs to be HEAVILY modified or completely rebuilt.
4th variation can't happen before they fix the variations they already have.

Superbolt in every way is worse than electric fly and is perhaps the single dumbest KB in the game.

The move should be in a string, its fucking terrible.

Yoo...Raiden MU is becoming a nightmare for me regardless of who I use. What's the tech, what's sound strategy against him?

I feel like I can never poke back, EVER, bc they will backdash on d1 blocked then go into the low starter. The staggers is either throw or storm cell and the throw leaves him at perfect oki position.
What are some good pointers? He's becoming scorpion-esque to me.

I've tried noob, kollector and have the same issue every time. Feel like it's never really my turn. It feels like his teleports are plus, when I try to jump them with a D1 my character faces the wrong direction for the D1 3/4 of the time.
Every poke on block feels it's still Raiden's turn with the backdash into normal meta
