Okay, here's my theory.

The reason the last 8 characters never had any datamines was the fact that the first 9 dlc characters were pre-determined during development, but for the last 8, nrs decided to read twitter posts and reddit threads after the game's release to see which will be requested the most by the fans, and develop them accordingly.

That would explain getting Mileena greenlit so late (because she's top requested and nrs is recently deciding which characters to put for the last 8).

At which point the thing with Bruce Campbell supposedly fell off and instead they had to make Robocop from scratch, hire Peter Weller, record his lines and (I assume) write/record lines for every character interacting with him?

I say this because some people seem to believe that NRS just said "okay, no Ash, let's make Robocop" and they snapped their fingers and Robocop appeared out of thin air.

If I'm not mistaken the Army of Darkness trademark was quite recent (only a few months ago). So I'll assume that Robocop was always in their plans, it wasn't a replacement for Ash.

Haha no, I really don't know more than this, trust me. I am not teasing like I'm freaking Ed Boon, just some stuff that's been thrown around and make sense as possibilities. Some have even suggested the aftermath comes with more characters, which I doubt very much, but you never know. NRS might have read all the critique about no secret fights, characters etc that they might throw 1 character a pack - if it's 4 and 4 - as a secret or with Aftermath. Just pointing out there's lots of possibilities. Personally I think there will be 6 more, 1 more pack that they will start releasing end of this year to end of 2021. Whatever else happens is just a bonus.

Well, judging by the new friendship trailer, they did in fact work on mileena

She's clearly a reskin of the Klassic Kitana model. Probably the most solid deconfirmation we're gonna get. In retrospect changing the "8 more characters" to "9 more characters" was a crazy theory considering that number's been constant since launch.



If I were more optimistic I'd say that this would put an end to the Mileena harassment on Twitter. But who am I kidding?

They wouldn;t use the real Mileena's design in a Kitana friendship if she was to be DLC down the road anyway.

Not saying that she will be, but they literally have a puppet of Shao Kahn that Jade is kicking in her friendship and drawings of Goro and Scorpion on Sub-Zero ice-cream van. That doesn't mean those are the real designs of Shao Kahn, Scorpion or Goro.

I'm not sure if you can see the other fighter once the Friendship "video" starts. Like, when Scorpion pulls the teddy-bear, can you still see the opponent?

C'mon NrS, You ignore the ENTIRE FANBASE asking for legit any MK Kharacter, and give us RoboCop? 2 of every 90 people asked for him.
I am and will always be disappointed for this waste of a slot :( I hope to the elder gods he is slightly fun

Not exactly. This is more like a standard response because people were assuming this Mileena is playable and tweeting them.

I don't know if Mileena is planned or not, but this doesn't mean anything. It's just a friendship. And they wouldn't say "Yes, Mileena is in the game".

They're trolls. "Has anyone found Fujin yet?" ;))))

Is the voice actress who does Mileena's voice in the friendship the one who voiced Mileena in MKX?

If so, this is … very, very interesting.

However, I loved this friendship. And I'm not even a fan of the girls. They're so genuinely happy it's bittersweet that is isn't canon.

One could argue that Havik's assist was redundant because of Mileena's assist, but there are two problems with that reasoning:
1) Havik's assist as a chaos-irregular input affliction makes much more sense for Havik to have, than Mileena. If someone's assist had to go, that would be Mileena's, not Havik's.

2) There are many assists which do the exact same thing yet coexist. Bo-Raicho's, Kung Jin's and Cyrax's assists do the exact same thing - paralyze the enemy for a few seconds. Yet they are all there. So I see no reason for Havik's assist to be in the game, despite doing the same thing with Mileena's.

The truth is that we don’t know. There’s a lot of reasons why it may have been pulled.

I think you’re just really hopeful that Havik is in and are seeing everything through a lens that leads to that outcome. I hope he makes it, but it’s not a foregone conclusion just because his assist isn’t in mk11.

I'm biased, I'll admit. But the 'enchantress' case in Injustice 2 gives me hope.

Agreed. I am so tired of all these guest characters who have no business being in a Mortal Kombat game. The vast majority of MK fans want....MK characters. I know, a novel concept that WB/NRS seem incapable of grasping. Not planning on buying any guest characters, so that is money they are losing from me.
