Spawn Gameplay Reveal Trailer!

Comments

People talking about him being op and assuming his attacks are command grabs need to chill out. A) We have no idea how good any of those moves are until we know hit levels and frame data, and B) MK is full of moves that have "grab-like animations" that aren't at all command grabs. There's a good chance that's a high attack that's death on block. NRS's media team's job is to make the character look as badass as possible in the trailer. Go back and watch any of the reveal trailers for any character and compare it to how they actually turned out in-game. Hell, some trailers even featured kombos that are impossible because you can't have those moves equipped at the same time.
While you make an excellent point, you can also see during the move people are calling a grab that Scorpion is standing there blocking before getting grabbed at the neck by the chain. Looked to me like they were trying to communicate it was a high hitting unblockable from an absurd range.

You could be right, as it does look like Scorpion is blocking when the chain connects.

However, even if it is a command grab, there are already characters with much longer-ranged command grabs in the game that are not considered to be op, such as Baraka and Terminator. All I'm saying is that any talk of a character being op based on their reveal trailer is utter lunacy because we don't yet have any of the key details.

@karaokelove I agree, although I think Spawn's grab out ranges Terminator's, at least before accounting for wave dash.

Unless he can tick into it I'm not sure about it being super scary, but I actually really dig the invis component, then it's scary.

Spawn’s invisibility will 100% be a non tournament move. He goes completely invisible like in UMK3, no way they would make that a tournament move unfortunately.
It looks to be from amping the presumably high hitting command grab with the chain, then turns himself invisible while coming off a fresh knockdown.
Pretty much puts the opponent into the same position as any assholes coming into Spawn's alleys, so for that reason I think this is a really cool idea and execution.

I just realized after watching someone's breakdown video that he parried Erron's slide. If that thing parries both highs and lows, that's insane. Plus he has the projectile parry.

I have no interest in Spawn as a character but if all that is in one variation, I'm gonna play it 100%.

I don't think that's a projectile parry. I think it's a grab/unblockable that has projectile invulnerability. It looks like Spawn was charging up, like the move was going to come out regardless of if he got shot or not

Spawn buffs himself before using the cape block and green vfx can be seen on the cape until it blocks the rifle shot from Erron, making me think this is some kind of projectile armor that got consumed? If so it probably reduces or prevents chip.
Then the move finishes, so I think the KB might be landing that move after buffing, landing that move after eating a projectile, or landing that move fully charged.

Yeah the buffs are weird. Like I have no idea what the buff before the Fatal Blow was supposed to be. Prob just damage I guess

I think it was just to show us it exists, since FBs and KBs can't be given damage buffs due to said buffs getting cleared by FBs and KBs (apart from Jax).

He seems to move kind of slow, which is atypical of what they've done with DLC. I mean terminator is kinda clunky but he has a sick wavedash and a run button.

If he don't have the movement, regardless of his tools he won't be OP, not the way this game plays.
He looks amazing tho.
Judging from the forward dash he uses just before the fatality I'm thinkin his wave dash is probably gonna be good, honestly.

I disagree on that, she seems very well defined on what she is supposed to do, high level Sindels are very cool to watch in play, Koisy and Dubasik comes to mind. Terminator was the most uninspiring of the DLC to me.
More like unenthusiastic when working on him. But I know what you mean. They got Arnold and sadly rushed the character, his endoskeleton thing is a joke sadly but the trailer made it seem bigger than it was. He's easily the worst out of all the DLC thus far. Not saying he's the lowest character in the game, just the worst from DLC. The coolest thing about T800 is that they got Arnold, other than that he's a blah character. Sindel is way cooler, more fun to play than he is.

I think his grappling moves are cool, and his teleport has one of the coolest effects in this game imo, but other than that, as you said having Arnold's likeliness was the main thing about him.

In NRS's defense, despite being a very iconic character, Terminator is a very straightfoward character in terms of what he does in the movies, ironically, in terms of moveset, T-1000 would have much more room for creativity with the shapeshifting and whatnot.

All the characters I play just died.
This is single best way to describe dropping everyone else for one character I've ever heard in my life.

He got Batman's gliding and Reptile's invisibility.

He looks slick for sure.

But why can't they use music like in the trailer...in the game itself? Battle music heh.
That song was better than the whole MK11 soundtrack. Jeeeeezus. That was some MK: Deception heaviness and I am here for all of it.

The only, only, ONLY thing I want is for him to not have a wonky ass DBF input for a move that he lives and dies by. That's all.

Imagine thinking no character in this game were rushed or showed lack of love, that's why everyone uses terminator... oh....Wait. :D:p

Oh I agree totally I mean I think they could have done more with him just look at jax a normal military guy with metal arms....lol terminator they could have done a few things I could think of being a huge terminator fan, and even with their more recent flops I'll always love the franchise. But yeah a t1000 would be sweet.

I wish his teleport was in a competitive variation and that his exoskeleton was better, had more moves and armor. They did Jason a justice but punked terminatoe with the whole "resurrected" concept.
