MK11 Not Returning as Evo 2020 Mainstage game

Comments

Tekken 7 better movement, deeper neutral game, fun combos. Endless tech to find, virtually unlimited skill ceiling. Might even get a season 4 while mk11 still sputtering along with season 1 and its slowest dlc rollouts of all time. Tekken 7 deserved to outlast mk11
Your comment is irrelevant and so dumbfound that I wasn't sure I should bother to reply to you. But since I can't stand plain ignorance I wasn't able to stop myself from replying to you.

1st point - Tekken 7 is out since 2015(almost 5 years ago), it's obviously "ahead", so to speak, in terms of content. Oh btw, did I forget to mention paid frame data, when NRS and Capcom, give it for free? Hummm...

2nd point - you're are comparing a 3D game to a 2D game, it's like comparing apples to oranges.

3rd point - Tekken 7 just made the recent mistake of releasing one of the most broken characters in the game, similar to T6 Bob, allowing it to be played at the Tekken World Finals and it was one of the most boring, excruciating top 8 to watch in the recent history of the game. 6 Leroy in top 8...huh, yeah. The recent nerfs were a slap on the wrist compared what he was able to get, nerfing damage instead of frame data for his moves? Right.

4th point - I lol'ed hard at the "endless tech to find, virtually unlimited skill ceiling" lmao

You're right guys. Mr Wizard totally hates that customs aren't tourney legal- he even saw Chernny post and decided MK11 should not be at Evo because of dash cancelling. It was a hard decision to cancel it despite better attendance and viewership numbers than several of the games that made it in, but knowing that many pokes are just -5 he had to make the tough decision.

Holy shit the delusion here.
Delusion? You know half of the people who posted in this thread actually believe what you sarcastically described.

I doubt Mr. Wizard knows anything about Mortal Kombat 11, but he knows a lot about making money (and allegedly taking advantage of players).

Have you played the game?

I can agree with you that Johnny mirrors are boring, but the game in general ain't boring...
Yeagh i got/played the game. I was kinda hyped for it to be honest, but that went down real fast once i played the game for a few month's.

Besides the not satisfying gameplay there a few other things that i don't like that keep me from playing the game.

"This next to MK11 already kinda dying, should warn NRS to shake things up for their next games. Especially with the MK series." - how is the game dying? Can you back it up with facts? Numbers?
Game is just not as popular as it should be for a new game like MK11. I said kinda dying, bc alot of players don't like the game that much. And NRS games already seem to die fast compared to other fighting games. I don't see MK11 do different while it is at this state.

well then .... I only used to watch Evo because MK, so, if no MK in this Evo, I can happily say "go fuck yourself, Evo, and your hypocrite agenda !" :p

MK should do the same Sony did with E3, and survive without depending of this fucking Evo tourney, that's it. ;)
Yeah, except everyone was waiting for Sonya and Sony ditched E3, Evo must have ditched NRS here lol

But that's normal, the game is out for an year already, it's natural to have a huge influx and then people, who don't enjoy it, stop playing it. It happens to every game, take a look at DBFZ for example, you have players who went ham on it, and I mean high lvl players, and now they don't play it. Does that mean the game is dying? No it doesn't, DBFZ is still really active, like MK11 is. You have the LCQ coming up, the online tournament from Mr.Aquaman and the finals next month. So the game is alive and kickin'.

I'm not bashing on people who don't like the game, don't get me wrong. It's your right and call to like it or not.

The thing that hurts the community are people who don't come here to contribute a single thing to the game or being positive, but they no longer play the game and keep bashing on it. This is toxic behavior, this should be avoided. This is the kind of thing that hurt a game player base!

Cant let this slide. Tourney recent- ninja ninja sonic sonic. Who was surprised by this?
No one because they are on another level, especially Sonic. But the fact that they almost lost in pools, and many other high level pros who are in final kombat actually did lose. And every match was very close. Is that not fun to watch?

That's not entirely true, Street fighter 5 and Tekken 7 are like 4 years old and still very active in the FGC. SSB Ultimate is doing very well too. Can't say that for most NRS game besides MK9.
(MKx did good too)

it's ok that SF5 and T7 are doing well. I love fighting games and if you do too, we should appreciate that fighting games are active at that long period

this a part of what forums also share. negative reactions. I don't like the direction NRS is taking MK, so i voice my opinion. But when they do things that i like i say that too.

If that many players/fans complain about NRS/mk11, there must be valid reasons for it to.

NRS has a precedent of an MK game -> Injustice game -> MK game -> Injustice game -> MK game. They want to break this cycle and the game was release only on year ago. You have steady pro competition, even online stuff in ESL, and content being added to the game. As a community we gotta give the game a chance to live on, to let it grow and be a game like SFV and Tekken 7 are, in terms of support and longevity.

Yeah I agree, people are free to voice their opinion, but knowing how to do it can make a difference.

The problem isn't the community, it isn't the game, its not the combo system, the lack of depth or whatever. Its a business decision that WB was involved in for sure.

At any opportunity these people who squeal out their hate for the game oink like cockless pigs. Sitting at their keyboards, wide-eyed and at attention.

May I direct your attention to these golden nuggets for a sec?

It's possible, and more likely, even, to not like MK11 for many other reasons. But.... just look at these screenshots. I promise you people would like the game more if you were any good at it. It's 2020 and we still can't take our turns back with a 7f poke. Fuck's sake.

Well that's too bad. I enjoy watching high level MK11 play, and EVO is a pretty great platform to be on.

On the other hand, it's nice to give other games a chance too.
