It's true, you don't have to buy it,

But if you don't buy it you still have to play against Joker in an MK game and I'm personally not interested. I didn't like Freddy, or Jason, or Alien either, but at least they could almost fit into the game world... Joker is... real dumb. It's on another level.

My take on it is, if they don't include guests in the lore, it's fine. Or at leadt not make it canon. Ou can critique the quality of the content, sure, but if they make it work, it's also fine. I presume they wanted a DC character in, and there's no better choice than Joker.

Guest characters are NEVER going anywhere. The bottom line is that they sell better than the obscure character people beg for (and then don't play when they're added to the game - see Zatanna). Also, let's not act like NRS/WB are the only ones who are using this strategy. Tekken (and others) are also adding guest characters. At least I care about Joker, Terminator and Spawn. Noctis and Negan have absolutely zero appeal to me.

Having said that, Tekken is also responsible for AMAZING guests like Akuma and Geese.

Either way, nothing will change. If you're that upset about it, stop buying the Kombat Packs before they're announced. I will say that having 3 fucking guests in a 6 character pack is far too much, though.

Lastly, we can pump the brakes on Havik, Khameleon and Sareena being iconic. They shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as those other characters.

Oh come on. In Injustice we had Scorpion and everything was fine; in Injustice 2, Raiden and Sub-Zero and everything was alright. Was "WB using Injustice as a marketing platform" then?

This is literally the first time a DC character is in MK (not counting MK vs DC) and it's one that fits the tone of the saga. Of course the character has a movie incoming, like most of the guests. That's the point.

And yet, people are complaining. This doesn't do any favors to the Kommunity, like of all those * that keep harassing Boon, asking for Mileena on Twitter.

In Kombat Pack 2 we'll most likely get more MK Kharacters than guests (maybe just Ash and Pennywise? I don't know). And we already have a strong roster. So everything is gonna be fine.

They emphasized that cane which he never had in Injustice so looks like he'll be remade from the ground up. (Which is how he should have been in IJ2 tbh).
