Your Prediction (not your hopes) about the 6 DLC characters of Kombat Pack 2.

IDK but i do know what they NEED to start doing is adding ALL MK characters first b4 adding guest characters. There are so many characters that we want/ havent experiences since the earlier games. I feel this is one thing that would be highly successful among the community ifthey started doing it that way instead of adding joker or spawn ( spawn would be a cool add ). and taking up MK character slots. I would much rather have like 50 characters in the game and they change up a few key things in the game then have another mk game in a couple years after this dies next year lol.

You could very well be correct, but the fact that A) the last three fighters had unfinished dialogue in the datamine, B) there were 19 characters and 3 KPs in the datamine and C) the devs saying that players'll go "Wow! There's so much content!!" gives weight to the theory of many more characters coming.

I kinda want them to just either add characters or skrap a kombat pack 2 and just add most if not all like they did in Mortal kombat armageddon and make a new game. So many characters have been MIA adnd Rain, SMoke, Both chameleon could easily be incorporated. Just random moves moves from other characters. if they had to add guests though it would be neat to ave frreddy and jason back. But who knows. the leaks felt more like place holders to me. Several character could also just be skins I think

It did. Don't know why anyone is guessing. The last two of pack 1 are guests. So it'll be Ash and Terminator. Possibly joker instead of Ash. But Terminator has a new movie out and was leaked. No brainer.

Honestly, we will probably be getting three guests again. Remember back in MKX when they were teasing KP2? Everyone thought we would be getting the fightable story NPCs -- Sindel, Rain, and Baraka -- then one more character like Noob Saibot or Jade.

But nope, we got Bo' Rai Cho, Triborg, Leatherface, and Alien instead. Another two guests, an MK character that no one was expecting, and then the cyborgs which were fairly requested but weren't story mode NPC status.

Based off of the leak, we know that Fujin, Sheeva, and The Joker are most likely coming. Then of course Kombat Pack 1 has three MK and three guests, which is a format they will probably stick with. So if I had to feel in the blanks, I think it would look something like this:

2. Sheeva
3. Takeda
4. The Joker
5. Doomslayer
6. Pennywise

Fujin for a 3D-era fighter, Sheeva for a Trilogy-era fighter, and Takeda as a New-era fighter (or whatever you would call it).

Then a comic guest, a video game guest, and a movie guest.

Maybe not Pennywise because they wouldn't want two clown characters, but they usually do a horror character character of some kind and they are kinda running out of material especially if they are adding Ash Williams. Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Alien, and Predator have already been done. I see no reason from them to not do Pennywise after the new movies, plus I think Ed on Twitter said maybe they will do Pennywise another time or something like that.

Aside from that, I think we could get a Sweet Tooth skin for The Joker for PlayStation players and then a Thunder skin for Nightwolf for Xbox/PC owners. Simply because Ed has mentioned both these characters on Twitter, specifically asking if we wanted a Thunder skin and beforehand asked how they would make Sweet Tooth work in the game (because console exclusive characters are off the table. A skin would work, though).

This is assuming that Kombat Pack 2 will be a full pack just like the first one, and that Fujin, Sheeva, and The Joker aren't just bonus releases/apart of a mini-off season pack.

Outside of the dedicated Fan base, which makes of a very small fraction of the overall player base at large, no one gives a shit about Fujin. From a business standpoint it is far from the most profitable spot. Luckily NRS doesn’t design DLC purely from the viewpoint of profit and has guests to make them the big bucks to supplement the less popular DLC(like Fujin). Those MKX dlc sales numbers paint a vivid picture of this.

Most causals don’t even remember or know who he is. He has not appeared in a legitimate role in 20 years if your don’t count his obligatory inclusion into MKA like everyone else. The last thing he did was be a forgettable NPC in the MKX intro. If you walked around with a picture of him asking people, you’d get a crushingly low amount of correct answers.

I want to make this clear, I also like Fujin, but being realistic? He is not some super profitable big hit classic. He’s not a Reptile or Mileena. He’s not a surprising new character. He’s a niche “cult classic” tier classic.

Fujin would not be raining money for them.

I guess I have to explain this even simpler.

The people begging for him were people like us.

The people who really follow this series heavily.

In terms of the overall playerbase and buyerbase of these games, we are a small percentage operating within an echo chamber. The casual fan base are all the people who buy this and play it sparringly, move on quickly until DLC pops up and brings them back for a little while and then they fall off again. Which is normal, and applies to just about every game series userbase at large right now.

This is dedicated vs casual fans.

So yes there are plenty of us asking for Fujin, but there are also significantly more of them yelling for Mileena and he cyborgs and Rain and Reptile.

But, If this is going to be the last MK game for a while and they're going to support it for longer than any of their other games...I can definitely see them adding in a KP2 or maybe even a KP3. I wouldn't even be mad at waiting for an Injustice 3 for another year or so.

And while I'm sure Joker, Sheeva, and Fujin are coming, who knows what could've changed since those leaks. We're not going to see the last of the KP1 characters until probably April of next year. A lot could change in a year in terms of inclusions. It's ultimately up to WB. Things could fall through, complications could arise. There's really no telling.

I mean, at the end of the day, I'm still gonna buy the Kombat Packs and play the hell out of all the characters. But, I'll be eternally grateful if they can just add enough characters to do something with that character select screen layout because it's a mess and Cetrion at the bottom by herself irks me.

I agree I stopped playing MK once they went to the 3d era so I had no cluse who the hell he was until people started asking for him to be in this game.

Two of those will be in the first Kombat Pack. I think KP2 will have the other 3 plus some fan favorites and maybe another guest character. We could potentially see another Injustice character aside from Joker. I doubt we will see a completely new MK character, they usually tie in new MK characters to the story somehow.

KP2 isn't even guaranteed. The list leaked no doubt, but it wouldn't be the first time NRS scrapped dlc. Like how we saw Fujin's name in the announcer files in MK9, and Ed Boon talking about Fighter Pack Zero for InJ2. It wouldn't even be the first time Joker was left out of MK. Boon made a tweet about Joker was once in talks for MKX

It is inconceivable to me seeing joker ina mk game and not having people that were supposed to be there.

Y’all really need to get used to or at least accept the fact that guest characters will always be a thing in NRS games. I’ve had to repeat this point like a million times, but NRS is a business first and foremost. And guest characters are consistently very good for business. Complaining about it will never change that fact.
