Some matches were great, but I have a feeling some characters are about to get rekt by the patch in the next few weeks.

My fav thing to do is to observe TYM meltdowns when the patch comes. NRS pls patch soon. EVO is over. You can destroy Geras, Erron, and Scorpion now

I just want more tools or adjustments to characters that don’t have tools or feel complete to compete in even top 64 of EVO.

I watched something here and there but i didn't liked what i saw. I hoped for something different but the game is just what it is... i don't know, i feel that this EVO didn't really helped the game that mutch.

yeah it is hard being the biggest selling game in the history of the franchise and having the largest online player counts in the history of the franchise and the biggest event turn out ever for NRS at combo breaker, evo and more.... man what will they do with all this failure!!

Kung Lao / Geras vs Geras

We have only seen Kung Lao once during single game and he was switched after to Geras. Besides one Kung Lao pick in signle game we basically saw all top tiers fighing each other. Matches was super high level and all but I haven't seen anything new during that EVO.

the list is misleading. A lot of these repeat names are the same players.. the nature of FT2 means that the counter pick meta from injustice and MKx is not as strong.. so when you see Cetrion a mass of times it is just cause it is the one that dragons plays and the only one he plays.

Cassie wasnt used much in a pools, but suddenly top 16 and everyones think they can copy SonicFox playstyle and be succesful with Cassandra Cage.
Semij was trying to copy SonicFox so, so much.....
Yeah but nooooo! The only one that really make Yaas Queen shine is that mo* god of FG - SonicFox.
And a lot of people still crying for Scorpion, yet again, i dont recall him being in top 8 in a Major tournament so far i doubt he even make top 32. :D
People are trashing him, because they are not good enough, and Scorpion player keep spawning online and keep beating them. That wont change, and untill MK12 comes out, people will still complain about Scorpion. :D Its funny to read all the raged comments about him. :D

And so far there is a lot of diversity in top 8 in the Pro tournaments through the year.
In the tournaments so far we have:
Jade
Kung Lao
Liu Kang
Baraka
Jonny Cage
Cetrion
Geras
Frost
Sonya Blade
Shang Tsung
Kabal
Jacqui Briggs
Cassandra Cage
Scarlet
Sub Zero
JaX Briggs
And this is 16 out of 26 characters. Thats more than good a diversity. Whatever they do, there is always going to be characters that are not much used and overly used.

Top 8 is more about top players in the world, and there is always going to be there, whether you like it or not. Why would Dragon or Ninjakilla or SonicFox or Hayatei change their main characters?
And i watched like 99% of the matches, which was streamed and in pools there was tons of Liu Kang players.
Even the commentators said that he is most played than Sonya Blade now.

And btw why we need to turn every f**** thread on this forum to buff this, nerf this, this character is this, and this is that and blq, blq, blq ....
Cant you just enjoy the tournament and comments and enjoy the matches, or we need to turn every thread into balance/fix/buff/nerf/hate ?

I really enjoy the tournament, there were great, great matches out there and some really close calls.
SonicFox finished second in a DBFZ and won MK11 title. Great tournament for him. He hold the EVO title in MK games from 2015. He is unbeatable at that tournament.

I liked the top 8 but it lacked a bit in terms of character variety. Tekken Master's sets were pure hype. Yes it was Geras, and usually I find Geras (especially Geras mirrors) really boring, but the set between Deoxys and TM was just sick. Same thing for TM vs Dragon, two character I don't like to watch but man that was sick.

I wish Tekken Master went to grandfinals because it would have been hype too, but Dragon played very well and very smart against him.

I also enjoyed a lot UltraDavid's and MrAquaman's commentary. Usually I prefer K&M for their analysis of the game in real time, but David and Aquaman are also awesome to hype the viewers.

Sonic Fox almost won DBFZ and wins MK11 a few hours after. This guy is a beast.

I'm happy to see that the level is already high despite the game being only 4 months old. I really hope the level will keep increasing and the game will last long.

I think we can all agree now that it is time for a balance patch. I don't know when it will happen but it will be very interesting to see how the meta will evolve. I wonder if they're gonna drop the patch at the same time that they will add Nightwolf to the game files or if they're going to do a separate update. Anyways I hope they'll release the patch notes soon, it'll be interesting to have an idea of what to expect before downloading the update and going to the lab.
