I was wondering what makes people quit at mortal kombat? Individuals quit 3 times in a row last night. I only play rank with D'vorah and we all know that's a uphill battle. Imagine fighting for that win and someone rages. As a competition person I have never quit at anything competing against another person. wheather it's jiujitus against someone way better than me or any sports where it's a tough task. Why is quiting so easy to do in MK11? Also I lost my streaks when they quit ‍♀♀.

If someone is being really disrespectful, taunting, stuff like that I'll play out whatever the required amount of matches are and then simply leave and block them. But if they're saying toxic, racist, or homophobic slurs that's an instant quit, block, and report from me.

If it's a bad connection due to lag/wifi I'll play out the match as best as possible and then just leave.

Don't see the point in doing it. A loss is a loss. It happens. Sure I can get frustrated but that's with myself.

I'm out here playing a video game, I can wait for an opponent to fatality me, it's not like I'm doing something important with my time lol
I couldn't agree more.

I understand. However, such is life. I just can't quit even if someone is being disrespectful. I feel it's a poor representation of my resilience.

Nope. Childhood rule was you don't ever quit something you started. Being bad at something can't always be helped, but being a quitter is a choice. If you quit in a video game, life is gonna be real tough.

If you quit against me I take a screen shot and send it to you so you have a momento to what a complete pussy you are.

I love this outlook on life. I don't believe in sending them a screenshot. It's just is what it is.

I can handle someone being disrespectful, but when someone is being toxic to the magnitude that they're using racist slurs, or homophobic slurs, or something of that nature, to me that crosses the line. I'm not going to waste my time engaging socially with someone like that. If you can't avoid being that kind of toxic player online you have no business playing with others and should be banned.

I rage quit once in a clan match in Tribes 1 back in the day. Idiot teammates did the #1 nub thing of hanging out near the drop down on the base in raindance and obviously auto die to the mortar that goes in and then we don't have any defenders for the flag(which is by the base). Can't learn the simple thing of equip get your shit and get out. Nobody should die to mortar in the drop down except on random luck.

I left the clan shortly thereafter. Other than that no I have never rage quit.

That's my brave story.

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.
nope, never, no way ..... none high level of adrenaline could make me do this, lol .... in the end of day , it's just a game, where the main purpose/function it's ..... to have fun, stress relief time and to get distract ! some people forget this and put way too unhealth serious stress on this, getting salty as hell, and losing their minds on acount of ....

looks odd and ridiculous getting nuts for losing your coolness because of that, haha :p

Nah, I always finish a set. I'll leave a sparring partner in casual if they have horrible ping or I'm just not having fun playing that person for whatever reason, but I've never left a game mid-match or mid-set.

In terms of toxicity, I'm always joined to a private party on PS4 so I don't hear people talk. If I could hear people talk and they were being toxic, I don't really care. People tend to put on a show online because they feel they're anonymous. Engaging them is playing a part in the show. It's not like my advice about how acting that way is not constructive is going to give them a revelatory moment. I'd rather just let them get bored and fizzle out.

I’ve quit multiple times. I’ll never disconnect cuz I want them to get the win but I’ll quit if someone fatal blows me at the end (cuz now I gotta sit there and wait), teabags me, or does a fatality after every match. Of course it all depends on how irritated I am cuz I generally try to sit through it. However sometimes I’m just not tryna sit through all that.

I quit matches when the connection is something I deem unplayable. Playing through the match would be frustrating and it would feel like a waste of time. Do you guys see this as rage quitting?

It's probably not too different than the excuse of someone who quits because they are getting bodied.

I love this out look on life.

The problem with that is you reset people's streaks when you do this or freeze their game. I just don't think quiting is ever a option. If you lose you sit back and take the consequences of that lost. In my opinion.

I mean but what does a streak effect? Their xp?
Edit: cuz I really couldnt care less, shoulda thought about that before being dick. Yeah yeah I know the whole “well if you don’t like it then don’t lose” argument but if I won I’m not doing all that maybe a brutality maybe a fatality but nothing extremely obnoxious
