I've also noticed the game disconnects against Tryhard scorpion players when they lose and erron black more than anyone else. Coincidence? Further proof hes a scrub friendly character.

Lmao I know right? Because Scorpion totally has a character that can counter him easily....oh....wait.
I honestly think a lot of these people are going to dry up once a balance patch hits and other games start to come out to terrorize.

Sure hope so lol. I definitely think the former will happen depending on how hard Scorp, Black, Geras etc get hit in future balance patches. Scorpion I'm not so sure because he's Boon's boy. I think @GLoRToR brought this up or someone else if not him but I think it's ridiculous how parries work against low wake ups but not against Scorps teleport punches. :confused:

If ya could it might frustrate the Scorpion player so... ;)

And I guess it can't be done...but think parrying his spear and he gets brought across the screen to get kiboshed. :D

  • A high
  • MB only on Hit, not on whiff or block.
  • Air Teleport a slot not default
He can keep his damage, if these get fixed he'll deserve it.

I still don’t really like ft2. U get cheesed once, you lose. You adapt, you win. Counterpick or another cheese win with different character and you’re done. I’m like 20-5 now and 3 of those losses were just people doing random shit. I adapted and then they did other random shit. Basically at low level play you just have to assume people go for unsafe options ALL the time, since the reward is so high in FT2 sets. I like FT3 better and think they are the perfect balance between not too long and just short enough.

I think it’s awesome, but it can definitely be improved. Whatever happened to dnf%? We should be able to decline people with a high dnf%. People should be banned for constantly disconnecting on people.

Well, while Glortor likes to exaggerate you are doing so as well. Even with those nerfs he wouldnt be trash tier. Its two nerfs that affect 1 move. And teleport becoming a high is a very likely thing to happen.

True. I also noticed if they just tone it down a bit in regards to being able to be countered like if you notice everyone else teleport in this game can be countered or punished, except Scorpion. Like if I poke or uppercut at the right time it should stuff his teleport out. It's like they purposely made this move OP and with options not even necessary(cancels)

My feeling is a mix between the answers. I like more than I dislike about it.

I don't know what situations allow people to duck out of sets with no penalty, but if a person leaves early for any reason they should lose points, I should gain points and I should get the win. This is going to burn people who have an honest reason for a disconnect, but that's the risk of gaming on a shitty connection.

I wish the kombat points were currency and not XP-style. I wish I could just spend the points on stuff I want that's available during the season. Alternatively, it would be cool if I got rewards that were specific to the character I was playing KL with. It would incentivize me to play a lot more and try out characters I don't feel as confident about. I realize this is a lot more dev time to come up with gear or a skin for every character, but I'd personally rather the season last longer to offset the time spent to create the rewards.

In all though, I'm pretty happy with it as a v1.0.
In most mobas not only do you lose points for the disconnect but you get a timed ban. No matter what
 
Seems like a good idea. Sure some people might get punished by this if their connection actually spazzes out... but I feel like it would really discourage constant disconnecting.
I'd be fine with it. For me, it's not even about it being a punitive measure. It's more of a "go figure out what's going on with your connection and come back later". I'd gladly take an entire match of D1 mashing or Scorpion teleports over a slide show. At least there's something I can do about the former. I just think the current way it works is really going to discourage people from playing KL because the system so benefits the person disconnecting.

Watching every single thread eventually drift off into a rant about how broke scorpion and his teleport is, is just pure entertainment to me.
Don't worry. When the patch hits and NRS inevitably blows out Hanzo's kneecaps with a shotgun instead of applying delicate balance methods, there'll be some other character / move that rises in infamy.

As for the actual thread topic, KL needs a disconnect penalty. A small grace of maybe 2 disconnects in a short time frame (say, an hour or two with diminishing returns if you disconnect frequently) to keep people with flimsy connections from being punished, a scaling penalty scheme of being locked out of KL for longer and longer timeframes if you disconnect a lot in a short period (with the period extending longer as more disconnects occur), and a log of how many disconnects you have that is displayed alongside your W/L ratio. If your amount of disconnects is too large a % compared to your sets played, your opponent may decline you no matter what your connection is.

Boom. Makes those plug pullers eat a bag of dicks by immediately punishing them on repeated disconnects AND in the long term should they attempt to abuse the grace threshold by letting other players give them the middle finger in matchmaking. A win all around in my book.

The concept is really cool, but it requires a lot of improvements to keep it legit.

Being denied a win because of player disconnects was a deal breaker for me, so I didn’t even bother with season 1. Here’s to hoping NRS fixes this in S2.

I’d like to see jitter - not just ping - shown pre-match. Horrid jitter will muck up gameplay even if average ping looks ok. And yes, some bad WiFi setups will have bad ping or jitter, but good WiFi setups won’t cause problems. You’ll get a better connection to someone on fiber with good WiFi than someone using Ethernet with an old DSL ISP.

105:120 here with 26something points. Today i met with a wifi lagswitch guy who alway lagged when i punished him. But i could count on my two hands how many times i met with this behavior.

Disconnects should be banned. AI era is here so i think they could feed an AI which investigates the matches and make decisions about disconnects on loser sides.

I’m tired of fighting Scorpion at least 4 out of 5 sets. And I’m tired of playing laggy ass matches, which consistently seem to stem from WiFi players.

Like what though? Searches only take a few seconds at most. Unlike SFV where you have to wait forever just to find a match.
