I like the classic characters, but seeing as theres 3 fucking guests we likely wont see some of our favorites for a long time.

Sometimes I wish WB weren't so heavy handed

I'm kinda disappointed but I'm excited to play shang and see what Spawn, Nightwolf and Sindel are like.

I really want Cyrax and think its possible down the road.
Shanghai changing into the ninjas was super confusing. Don't know if they where special moves that do those characters moves and just change during animation or if they are part of his normal strings maybe a slot loadout that adds combo strings which morph?
This could give hope to Smoke, Ermac, Reptile and Rain fans since they already have some of thier moves coded and can be easily added later on at least easier than creating one from scratch.

But I'm mostly concerned about Shang gameplay. If those ninja morphs are strings then that could mean he is limited in that department.

Soulsteal by far could be the strongest move in the game and I'm very excited to lab up his possibilities.
Shang better have combos and launch from ground skull or I'll be depressed. I know I'll learn to love shanghai no matter but I still hope for freedom like mk9 shang.
I just don't want him to be Imposter Shang Tsung.

Cyrax needs to be in the game later on
I am excited for Shang, Spawn, Nightwolf & Sindel But I'm concerned shang will be limited compared to previous ones.

Neither here not there until I play the characters, Ash Williams is confirmed and the Terminator model is revealed.... But:
  • Tsung -- good; expected; Tagawa is nice; gameplay looks so-so: GOOD
  • Nightwolf -- decent; hopefully gameplay uses animal shtick that Kotal alludes to: GOOD+
  • Sindel -- best confirmation so far; better not come in a Hessian sack and with a clitorectomy: EXCELLENT
  • Spawn -- meh; kiddies will wet diapers over him; new online Scorpion: WHATEVER
  • Ash Williams -- Leatherface + guns + JC wise-cracking sarcastic cynicism: VERY GOOD
  • Terminator(s):
  • T-800/850 -- Jax + ordnance: OKAY
  • T-1000 -- limitless polylollyalloy abilities; Robert Patrick: EXCELLENT
  • T3 -- female; Kristinna Loken; T-1000 + nano: EXCELLENT
  • T: DF soyboy -- eunuch: WASTED SLOT

I’m, like a lot of people in this thread, somewhere in the middle. I mean this just confirms the leaks and that KP2 will hold some more characters I was looking forward to; and I find Shang using the old moves from ninjas to be a shitty homage.

I’d rather have NO mileena then Kitana’s halfblood stance, just like I’d rather have no rain and reptile and instead characters that made sense to replicate without transforming into a new model of them (IE Shang having Quan chi’s trance or ermac’s energy grab etc)

My biggest gripe was the mishandling of this reveal and a lot of the info leading to mk11

The trailer was hype. Shang looks awesome.

Won't lie though--I'm super salty that Sheeva won't be in KP1. I mained her in every MK game she was in, and I was really looking forward to playing her in the next couple months. I dunno how fast the KP1 characters will roll out but now it looks like KP2 won't be until later this year. So bummed. I need my 4 armed waifu.

Do you currently, or intend to, attend professional tournaments? If not, there’s no need to pretend. You’re doing yourself a disservice by limiting yourself to the preset variations. Branch out and have fun!

Shang Tsung and his ninja morphs got me really hype, then the callback Kintaro fatality had my jaw on the floor.

Then when it said Nightwolf I was even more hype

Then when it said Sindel I was officially a child on xmas morning hype

Then it said Spawn I got even more excited which I didn't think was possible

Then it said plus two more guests and I was like...ಠ_ಠ


But still, very awesome pack for the most part and if one of the other guests is Ash ill be very happy. Terminator will be the only stinker for me.

Words cannot describe how utterly disappointed and let down I feel right now. I woke up in the middle of the night and checked my phone, then saw the trailer and info concerning the KP (which is what I wanted mostly - I knew Shang would deliver). I was so frustrated with what I read that I couldn't sleep for the next two hours, and ended up sleeping about 4-5 hours. On a Friday night. Thanks Obama Ed Boon!

Now, the reasons I am so disappointed:
1) Shang will be early accessed on the 18th of June, which means 25th for the rest of the non-early adopters of the Pack. Which (possibly) means that we get a DLC every two. Freaking. Months. Which means we have to wait an entire year to learn any news about Sheeva, Fujin and Joker.

2) The entire hype Boon built with his tweets failed to deliver on every level. "Keep your fingers crossed!" Why? Why should we keep our fingers crossed, Boon? Was there any way you could have fucked this up any more? It was a mere Shang Tsung gameplay montage. Maximillian could make you one in a few hours. What was the trouble? The hold-up? We expected (thanks to your older DLC packs), some kind of cinematic reveal, some kind of cutscene which would demand a director, a script and unique voice lines. Instead we got a mere gameplay trailer which is a really easy thing to do (record 2-3 matches as Shang Tsung and edit out the parts where he performs his combos/super moves). The was utterly no reason this wasn't shown at Combo Breaker and instead you had people stay and wait an entire day for this. For fuck's sake, you guys didn't even bother to make silhouettes for the other characters this time. Just their names.

3) Three characters, three guests. Wow. Just. Wow. Which means that if the KP2 isn't three characters, and is six, we get one more MK unannounced character, at best. Amazing. And we'll have to wait about two years to see who it'll be.

4) Many of us - myself included - believed that the reason of the delays and the hold-ups was the fact that Boon and co were going to show us a non-leaked character in order to surprise us (since we learned the entire DLC via the Switch leaks). But no. The entire secrecy, the entire backpedaling, the entire 'what is this? what is that? MMMM!!' bullshit from Boon was to announce things we already knew about. What a waste.

sigh I sincerely wish I recover from the initial disappointment because I feel like I don't even want to play the game anymore right now.

It was a sick ass reveal, very happy.
My only complaint is, was putting the other two characters names too much of a hassle? Especially when the sounds blatantly said “Hey it’s Ash and Terminator” pretty much lmao. Still, super hyped, probably the best DLC lineup yet.

There's nothing about my rant that doesn't make sense.

Shang was well done - but I expected no less, so there were no surprises there. Boon, asshat that he is, spoiled the ninja-mimicking, so the only thing that was 'woah!' was the Kintaro fatality.

Compared to previous NRS DLC trailers, this looked rushed and cheap. Which is unacceptable, taking into account the budget and the time they had to prepare it (again, comparing to previous NRS DLC trailers). Just the names? The company that gave you the impression they were half-done with the DLC before the game went out (MKX, I2) are now trying to give you the impression they haven't done anything DLC related before the game came out? Yeah, ok.
