Swift's parody video has nothing to do with Tom losing his Father, nothing about the video alludes to that even in the slightest. If you for some reason don't like the video and don't find it funny, that's fine you're entitled to your own opinion. But just stop acting like the video was an attack on Tom or Tom's personal life. please man, calm down, we all understand and respect your defence of tom here but pleas understand its not dont with malicious intent, hanks is for sure the resident comedian of this community and if you really listen to him in the video is isnt mocking or poking fun at tom, hes just doing a funny version for everyone to get laughter out of, which i welcome in a very upsetting time

trolls or not, there isnt a single soul in this community who isnt 100% there for tom right now, no one wants to go through what hes currently going through and thus no one will EVER mock him about it, if things were different and it were my father who passed, id want nothing more than a good laugh again after weeks of constant upset

I think a few people need to calm down. The video is very clearly a parody and is in no way a defamation of Tom's character. There's so much material in the original video that's ripe for parody, and while what happened to Tom is terrible, everyone should be able to recognize that SwiftTomHanks' intention was to lighten the mood opposed to a issue a vicious personal attack. The unusual location coupled with the extreme nature of the dialogue just opened the door for a humorous video. Let's not blow this out of proportion.

Laughter's good for the soul, there's no way possible that STH meant in any which way to insult Tom in this parody. I'm sorry for Tom's loss, but being through it myself I can tell you that the only thing anyone would say to me was their condolences for months straight, laughter and distractions help you get back to your life.

After this post I'm leaving this whole discussion. This video was made as a parody not to Bill nor the recent events in his personal life. I would like to share my most sincere condolences to Bill and his whole family. Another common misconception seems to be how this video was aimed to "troll" Bill. This video was made as a parody for everyone (including Bill) to look back at and laugh at. Bill's videos are normally filled in extremly hilarious locations, from driving on a highway to walking down a sidewalk during a sunny afternoon (or his awesome SAW desktop background). If anything I would hope this expresses the fact that I have enjoyed viewing the videos he has created for the community. There is nothing within this parody that is malious towards someone who just lost a close loved one; that kind of subject is NEVER a joking matter.

In fact, this video has nothing to do with Mortal Kombat either. I am obviously not dropping Sektor, and I am obviously not calling Bill out. Bill has been, and most likely will always be a higher caliber player than I am. I have the utmost respect for Bill both as a human being and a Mortal Kombat player. Having the opportunity to meet him in person multiple time has been a great pleasure. I always look forward to seeing him and dozens of others at all the tournaments I go to.

I wish Bill and the rest of his family the best. I hope he is doing as well as he can possibly be at the moment. Perhaps this parody may even cheer him up?

To the others that may have been offended (Mario) - I hope this provides some understanding. I do remember what you told me about your father as well, and to this day I feel extremely sorry that you had to experience something like that. In hindsight the context of the situation may not play well with everyone; but I would imagine that anyone's passed loved ones would enjoy knowing that those they are survived by can still enjoy themselves. That said, I could not agree more that mocking anyone's death is one of the most awful things a human being could do. This 30 second parody has nothing to do with that, but instead the context of where it was shot and how anyone (not just Bill) shares their frustration of a character. For instance, you and I have our fair share of freak out moments concerning both Noob and Sektor. We have been just as angry over the character; the only difference is we didn't film it and upload it to youtube. I consider both you and Bill friends of mine, hopefully this video that was intended to make everyone laugh does not change that.

If for some reason Brady or ANYONE takes it the wrong way, how is that Swift's fault? Again, the video had nothing to do what you're getting angry about. The intention is painfully obvious, like most parody videos.

For the 100th time, no one is making fun of Bill for losing his Father. Let's stop blowing this out of proportion, and clam down, please.

Now, everyone deals with tragedy differently, and I don't claim to know how Brady is handling this but:
I also lost my father this july, and while it was a rough time the hardest part was people constantly looking out for my "brittle" emotions.

It's not easy, but brady isn't a child. He puts himself out there and when he does he is open to the same criticism (in this case parody) as he was before.

Obviously I can't speak for Brady, but I doubt he wants everyone looking out for his brittle emotions like he is a child. Everyone saying STH shouldn't have posted this is basically patronizing poor Brady.

If you have a problem with the video, or anything for that matter, it's best not to meet situations like this with such profound hostility. By insulting people, questioning their age, and being a generally abrasive presence in this thread you've only opened the door for higher tensions. Don't try to escalate these conflicts by blowing up.

Even if you don't like something, stay civil, respectful, and informative. Explain your point without putting others down or resorting to caps or name calling. If you're sincere in your stance and civil, the person with which you have an issue is more likely to be sympathetic to your plight. If they feel like you're senselessly attacking them, things can only get worse.

I'd add my two cents on the situation, but someone already quoted my response from the front page comments. It was to lighten the mood, but I reiterate: if you found it to be in bad taste, responding the way you did often makes things worse. I understand it's easy to get flustered when it's related to people you know, but in the end we have to be more professional about these things. Let's all relax for a second.
