IDGAF Throws Are Too Strong

The only thing I don't agree with is throws legit jailing after a jump in. No neutral ducking no jumping you just have to tech the throw. Other than that I think they are fine as is. It is frustrating getting your poke thrown even though throws are technically highs, but the jailing thing is what i hate the most that applies universally to the game.
Is it possible that you were a victim of a jump-in into command throw that you tried to duck but couldn't? You cannot jail into throws, you should always be able to escape through ducking or jumping. An exception would be some kind of setup that will hit mid right after the throw but you could still "avoid" the throw.

I think throws are fine, but I wish they weren't a 50/50.
So you want them to be stronger or weaker
I saw your opinion previously but unlike most of the time, this time I disagree. I always disliked 2-3 frame windows in games and I'm too old and set in my ways to change my opinion about that.
If it's more than 2 active frames you can easily makes unsafe normals plus on block at max range which changes your advantage on block.
Trust me you don't want moves like D1 or any normals to have 4-7 or more active frames.

I feel like most of the frames in this game is honest aside from a select few having better buttons. Pokes are generally -4 to -7 on block across the board and have reasonable hit advantage. Recovery is another thing and many characters suffer from that
poor kotal
A few have jailing moves but nothing to crazy. Most of the plus frames on block (from normals) are +3/+6 and are generally highs in this game. Which are very punishable on read further creating that mind game.
completely different from X with plus 20 cancels on fast mids and insane frame Traps, HTB's, True 50/50s in a single normal, Unblockable setups, Resets and Vortex's into all these mentioned tools.

MK11 is very honest like no other mk. It's up to us to learn the meta and adapt unless something is truly game breaking.

I was messing around in practice mode and noticed that the distance you ca actually reach with your throw is very far. I was almost a full characters width away pretty much near end of sweep distance and was still able to reach with my throw.

If they maybe shortened this reach and made it more that you need to be up close in order to throw, that may make it less annoying to deal with.

They ars strong and also disrupt the flow of the game. The amimation on some of these throws allow you go get a soda out of the fridge and come back.Erron Blacks are annoying as hell!!

Nope this is what I'm talking about https://twitter.com/Alioune85/status/1120337856076099584

I just double checked it in game again right now to make sure I didn't miss a change in a patch and it still exists. Shouldn't be a thing especially since characters have 30% throw krushing blows from teching wrong and it circumvents the counter krushing blow mechanic to throws in D2. You legit have to guess the throw. No neutral ducking or jumping out. It's dumb.

Yeah that's pretty gross, thanks for the link. I had no idea that was possible.

In my short testing I could only get this to work with J2's. I wonder if this is intentional. J2's don't have good hitboxes for jumping in with so maybe they want you to have more reward for landing it.

Hardcore gaming poser.
I don’t think throw mechanics need to change, but every time I switch from mk to a different series, I keep trying to throw from too far away. It’s because mk throws have crazy range. If they make it so you gotta be closer, I think it’d be a lot better. Proper distance is everything in this game, having to get close would better project an oncoming throw to the throwee.

Yes, that’s a word.

You listed two things it beats but didn't list the multiple options that beat throws.
Neutral Jump, Duck, Parry, Command Grab, Certain Special moves, Certain low pokes, cross over, tech(which it's easier than ever than any previous games).
And you act like ALL of those options don't get blown up(universally at that) by the throw mixup itself.

In any situation where you might get thrown, you ALSO might get frametrapped. The frametrap is going to blow up Jump, duck, grab, specials, pokes, and techs. That's fine and expected. The problem is you have a NESTED MIXUP in the throw.

It's astounding that people are defending this.

Every time you get + frames on someone they HAVE to STOP BLOCKING or they might get thrown. At which point you can crouch ALL you want but now you're gonna get opened up by an overhead, low, mid OR throw. The sheer threat of the (too strong) throw opens you up to EVERYTHING ELSE in an attempt to defend from the throw. Then you FINALLY defend a throw but there's still ONE MORE coinflip on top of that.

Throws are too strong, point blank period. They offer no viable counterplay than "flip or coin" or "eat the throw".

Did I wake up in an alternate dimensions where fighting games with strong universal options are a bad thing? Why is this thread even open.

Oh no, its a HUGE bitch for me that EVERY CHARACTER IN THE GAME has a way to win. Idiots.
No, you woke up in one where you forgot how to read.

I'd be ok with this.

Near max range d3 > throw is nuts. Reducing the range on throws would mean the player on defense would be able to reliably block more often.

Throws beat block AND counterpoke. Teching a throw is a 50/50 that leads to 30% with some character if you tech wrong. Throw beats too much shit. When in doubt, fucking throw. It's going to land and worst case scenario you get a free mixup out of it! woohoo! You have to just NOT BLOCK on wakeup sometimes if you think he might throw you. What type of shit is that?

no you fucking don't you're a liar.
Disagree throws add mindgames, without throws some characters wouldnt have anything. This game is about spacing, and mind fucking your opponent. At least with the character i play. No overheads, no real kbs, without throws id be dead in the water. Tech those bishes! Or jump over.

or just duck the throws , simple like that .... since MK games allow this kind of move to be used, to avoid throws

Life is a block string with no gaps.
I can live with throws being a mixup in and of themselves, but I really dislike needing to let go of block to tech.
