More on Krypt Chests and Unlockables

Anyone know where you get the Netherstone for the Transmute Souls forge?

Also I just restocked those expensive chests in Goro's Lava/trap area. Every single one had Augments and low tier konsumables.

That's how it started out for me too. Now the best I can get from a chest is 15,000 koins. Not really worth it considering I spend 1-200k on augments and konsumables
I am restocking because I need a skeleton key, but I don't get one! :(

F*** yes! I finally unlocked another skeleton key like 300K later haha :D
Restocking chests is a lot of fun, I got some amazing stuff that way. Those souls guys get also restocked!

I noticed that most of the Chests in Goro's Fortress (the lava area with the swinging traps) cost exactly 15,000 Koins and each has a Skin in them. Just cleared the area and got 5 or more Skins easy.

Also, all 10,000+ Koin Chests I've opened contain either Augments or a Skin so far.

Are the contents of the chests you get after getting the character heads set? Or are they random like all the others?

So I figured out a way to easily refresh The Kollector's available trades.

Talk to him and trade what you can, then leave and quickly quit to the main menu. Go right back into The Krypt and you should be in the main area/starting point of Goro's Lair. Just run back into his room, talk to him again, and his trades will be different. Repeat this process until you've traded everything or The Kollector disappears.

I just traded a ton of stuff with him doing this and most of those trades got me Skins.

What kind of skins did you get? Is it specific to which character?

Here's something that mainstream Mortal Kombat media DIDN'T tell you:

  • chests are RNG within the 450~600 that are present (the items are consistent, but shuffle to and fro)
  • most normie chest drop jack shit, except for initially (clearly done to dupe dopes too slow to pick up patterns, into continually throwing more koin at them, and at least until they get bored and move back to Fortnite)
  • there are diminishing returns active on all chest loot -- eventually they drop only garbage, and re-rolling them is a waste of koin (once you've opened them all at least once)
  • the Shrine is also infected with diminishing returns algorithm -- it won't drop skins after a while (for 100K), and eventually even gear will dry up for near-useless augments (50~75K)
  • the Kronika ball seems to drop substantive content each time... BUT, it cannot be fully assessed currently, as it only appears once per Krypt load-up, and seeing as everything else has diminishing returns attached to it, the ball is almost certainly the same
tl;dr -- The entire game literally FORCES players to try and fail at its idiotic "Towers" scam, while dangling real-world money euphemisms ("Krystals") in front of the player (with timed shop content, no less -- FOMO abuse FTW!), that can bypass the grind walls explicitly designed to goad said micro-trannies.

In other words, you will NEVER get all the content in the game (in fact, you'll likely never get the full compliment for the few characters you actually want), unless, 1) you pay for it, or 2) NRS-Warner are threatened with a law suit.

How do I know this? I've hacked the game for over 50 hours, that's how! :joker:

So this may just be a huge coincidence but hear me out. In all modes I have been mainly playing Kotal Kahn, he is my most played so far. I have been coming in and out of the krypt and not getting too much stuff for him...but the second I went into that death trap room (the one you open with Raiden Staff I believe) I was getting Kotal goodies out the ass in that particular room.

Every chest is like 15k and I got skins, gear, player card stuff, etc. it was kind of crazy. I ran out of koins though so I have to get more and come back lol

Except no. Limiting the premium shop to a small rotation of random shit isn't going to make time crystals sell like hotcakes, especially when the game gives you a steady amount that can be reserved for the time that something you want actually arrives.

Each Kollector Trade Item in the game has a specific reward attached to it. It can be set Skin, Gear, Augment, or Konsumable. These can be for any character in the game, and it seems every character has multiple rewards you can get from him.

I know I got a Jacqui, Johnny, and Cassie skin for sure, but I can't remember who the other characters were.

I got a brutality from a hidden chest yesterday. One of the chests you only see when you put on kenshi's blindfold. Those probably also restock.

Do we know if chests at least cost the same to open for everyone? If they do then we could cut down on search time by sharing how much it costs to open those with the things people are most interested in. If you're looking for a specific outfit and someone has found it in a 12,400 coin chest, knowing that will make it a lot easier to track down.

Maybe less useful for chests with common values, but it's better than nothing.

From what I understood, yes, that's what they implied. But that'll be almost impossible to check up on.

Is there a set time when Kollector appears or is it random every time? Also are you skins you get from him listed as "Found in the Krypt" or otherwise?
