MK11 Story Discussion Thread (obvious spoilers)

quite underused in general.

The thing with Cetrion is that they promoted her as a goddess of life and always as the counterpart of Shinnok. Shinnok is EVIL. The prologue even hints at Kronika interested in Shinnok's success.

Then in the story trailer they put her like she's giving advice to Raiden about how to stop Kronika.

And if Cetrion stepped down from the Elder Gods to help fight against Kronika (Ares style in Injustice), it would have been make perfect sense.

But in the story she acts more like a lackey to Kronika, no will of her own... just like Shinnok, without the ambition. I don't know. I feel confused right now.

Yeah, they pretty much made this story to retcon all of the bullshit in MK9

Again, i hope they go in a interesting direction from here, even if we wont see a new MK story for a long while

I'd be really happy with alternate sources of lore. More stuff like comics, side stories, etc. I understand where they're coming from keeping story mode safe to make sense with the core characters and stuff, we shouldn't set our expectations high for groundbreaking lore for the franchise in the main games, especially after MKX. But extra sources of juicy MK universe stories would be great.

I replayed MK9 in the last few days and the story is good for the most part. It gets rushed in the ending, the infamous Sindel scene and all, but all in all is very solid and by far the best story since the reboot.

I didn't plan on spoiling the story for myself but I kept seeing on twitter and on reddit that the story is pretty much shit and doesn't make any sense, so I read the spoilers and i'm shocked how bad it sounds all put together... yikes NRS. At least the kustomization and actual gameplay is nice though right?

After watching the ending I feel somewhat disappointed. I don't mind a happy ending, but this made me feel like literally everything leading up to this point doesn't matter. Moreover, it completely wipes the importance of the stories across the games.

I don't know if we'll see another MK anytime soon

Honestly,

I think they were rushed by WB.

cause, they have been having some bad communication problem with the community, and that the tourney Variation being scrapped together also looks slightly rushed

It wouldnt shock me if that was the case.
