Because he hasn’t had any type of breakdown. And since it started with Scorpion, it seems fitting they would end with Sub. Plus coupling him with Frost seems fitting as well.
Started with Scorpion? The first MK11 Kast breakdown was of Kabal. Most of the MK Day Reveal characters did not receive breakdowns.
Then the collective internet would riot over seeing a DLC character before seeing all of the main roster characters. All of the “he’s finished, he should be in the main game!” complaints.

Interesting take. I think the Xbox stream will show DLC and the 22nd Kast will show Frost and Shao, maybe a new character maybe one that got changes. I think SubZero and Raiden needs adjustment after all these great characters

I mean the only reason I think Sub will be in there is because he’s had no type of breakdown or anything, not to my knowledge. I know a few others haven’t either, but I don’t think Sub has had ANYTHING. And it just seems like it would be... cool to have him in the same breakdown as Frost, lol.

They’re probably not ready yet. I would guess it’s going to be along the lines of MKX, where they’ll release one set alongside each character release. Maybe one on release day (then the other 6 would line up with character releases).

That means nothing. Tanya was in MKX story mode, and she was DLC later. In fact, her DLC model was improved, and I believe she may have had different moves.
Injustice 2 launched with it's 3 premier skins and 2 sets of shaders. I don't see why this would be different, especially considering the fact that they sell costumes alongside the dlc characters usually. So I don't think the bundled skins are being saved for that
Frost could very well be one of the "secret characters" they were talking about. It wouldn't be the first time NRS made a post-MK3 character a secret character. They did that with Quan Chi in MK9 and Shinnok in MKX.
But if he's a preorder incentive, it would make muuuch more sense to show him a few days before the game release.Maybe it's more the other way around. Shao Kahn is so good and took so long to actually develop they just had to save him for the absolute last minute
