Mileena as DLC. How would you feel?

Are those the only dlc characters from the 3D era you can think of? The top 3 most hated? Lol

To name a few: Havik, Fujin, Sareena, chameleon, Nitara, Li Mei, etc. In addition to the guests. And I'm just mentioning the most popular ones.

We've all seen how well NRS can do redesigns of the 3d cast. Who asked for Tanya and tremor in mkx? And they were both redesigned and are now awesome and have tons of fans.

It's just bad practice, and I personally think nobody from the original mk9 roster should be a dlc character. They all deserve a main roster spot.

Me personally, I'd be happy with her just to be playable. She's definitely up there in popularity, so I could see them holding her off for dlc. But I can see NRS not using her this game, even though she was killed and they wanna follow a story (even with mf time travel shenanigans but whatever.) I could make peace with her missing out if it just wasnt for the fact that this is the first MK game to truly make the characters personal to us... and she sits this out lol

none fucking problem with that ..... all I want is Mileena being in the game, no matter how and what .... she can be unlockable, DLC, whatever .... at this point, I only care about she end being here, in MK11 somehow .... she is popular and "fanbase demanding" material enough to be here .... NRS sure can have took decison since the beggining of MK11 developement, to write her off from story mode, having not include her as part of it, ok, their decision, fuck off that .... but , not including her at all, in MK11, even as DLC option, could be such dumb fuck stupid decision coming from NRS, that is hard to believe they will make a huge business market ($$) mistake like this .... just letting pass an oportunity like this is stupid brainless as fuck :confused: :mad:

so, if their intention is support this game for a more long term as we suspect they'll do, OK, Mileena is a guaranteed DLC that they will release sooner or later, no argument or doubt here .... but, now, if they're lying, and they will just release only one Kombat Pack , and Mileena is not on it, ok, I will love MK11 anyway, but, still think it's bad business decision to let such cool and adorable character out from MK11 .... I feel the same about Reptile, that I think is much cooler and better character than Baraka, and it's clear that they choose Baraka over Reptile in this game, and I think this is bad call, so .... :eek: :( :oops:

I like Millena, I think she is a cool character, but I wouldn't mind it if she took a break. I wasn't expecting her to be in the game at all.

Similarly, I wouldn't mind it if she was DLC. Having some of the "regulars" characters as DLC can allow NRS to make the game they want with the characters they want, and then they can add the characters people demand later, without having to add them in the story, and allowing them to place characters that could benefit from the main roster spot more. It's also a great way to add non cannon characters too.

Tbh I don’t really understand the trend of shitting on people who want Mileena in the game. Like I get that’s it’s the “cool” thing to be assholes and to shit on things that people like, but idk it’s way more annoying to me than the overly passionate Mileena fans.

I’m not a fan of Mileena so I’d rather someone else take her spot. But if she’s in it’s not like I’m gonna complain.

I feel nothing... you all act as if she were so important, mileena is the most overestimated/overrated character of the franchise.
She isnt in the game and story, with Shao kahn being the opponent of Kotal plus Skarlet and Kollector their right and left arm... good bye overrated character.
Male ninja characters evolved much more than female ninjas, i feel like the girls are still palette swapped characters, change the color of costume, skin, the hairstyle and the weapon... and put a horrible tarkatan face on mileena.
Even in attitude they are similars to me... Kitana-Jade, Mileena-Skarlet, Tanya-Frost.
Thanks to god that frost is going to have a "remake".

Sure. But it's not like they're going to reuse Shang's animations and moveset straight from MK9. People keep saying "oh they're selling legacy characters as dlc" but MK isn't a legacy fighting game, every character is completely remade each game.
And, even if the MKX DLCs did come out good, don't fool yourself in thinking they were unanimously praised or were even remotely close to that, I remember very well the many strong criticisms NRS received after both pack reveals (guest characters notwithstanding). Compare that to the mostly good reception they've gotten from the Shang reveal.

Why you dont react like that when people do the same with rain fans? i see that situation so much in this forum, and many of them were the mileena fanboys. ;)

What do you mean? That’s how I feel with every character people are fans of who get shit on. But this thread is specifically for Mileena.

yep, just occur that will happen what they did on MKX : a "what-if" scenario, the same they did with Liu Kang and Kitana on their "non revenant" forms in MKX .... if they had not turned on into revenants in first place on MK9 .... so

I wanted Mileena to be base, I think it’s kinda sad that MK11 gave the boot to a lot of characters and have them regelated to DLC, but it allows fresh life in the roster, but Cetrion isn’t the bargain I wanted

I get to understand your feeling here, despite loving Cetrion as new blood in MK universe franchise ! :)

Some leak said Shang Tsung plays a role in the story. I won't say what is she supposed to do in case it's a spoiler lol but probably most of you have already read that.
And there's the souls of the monks in the Nethership being stolen!

However, if that's true and since DLC character Shao Kahn plays a role, I think they approached story mode like this: In MKX they had NPC characters that you could fight but no play as. This time there won't be "NPCs", because if Shang Tsung, Shinnok or Meat play a role in the story and you can fight against them, eventually you will be able to play as them. They're DLC.

That's what I think!

It's already been mentioned, but I'd like to emphasize that I feel Mileena being relegated to DLC would leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

There's no doubting Mileena's popularity, and if she is put in as DLC, I think even the general public would see this as a scummy move done in order to take advantage of fans of the series. I just can't defend these kind of predatory practices. I know they need to sell, but DLC should really be reserved for characters that are popular, but just not big enough to make the roster like Sindel, Nightwolf, Fujin, etc. I mean, can you imagine the reaction if Raiden or Sub-Zero was put in as DLC right after launch? I just wonder where the line is drawn between characters just not making the cut and companies purposefully holding back.

Yeah I can see it becoming true.

but honestly the complaining would change to "they were NPCs, they should be on the main roster!" on MKX to "if there were fights they should be on main roster, not DLC" instead I guess
