Agreed, lets just hope they deliver some good DLC that adds co-op back to it .
how could custom variations work in comp play? its already so hard to make set characters fair, mkx variations were a disaster in regards to balance- there shouldnt even be set variations imo it should be like I2 where the little kids customize their chars and then adults play comp mode

Uh, players have always been the ones who shoot new shit down. NRS is literally just doing what we said we wanted during the I2 years.
These aren't just assists, like i2, you can actually swap in and out characters and you can co-op in single player.

Surely this must mean its quite easy for NRS to make this co-op with an update? It's kind of a slap in the face to the fans who really wanted it to return lol .

They want the players to buy their own copy of the game I guess. With tag some people wouldn't buy the game because they would play at friends.
I mean, it could simply not have tag combos and just be switch in and out if they're that bothered about balance.
Have you ever noticed that no matter what they reveal you have already figured out something should also be doing, despite having no reasons for why they haven't?
