Yeah but that doesn't mean there won't be NPC's again in the story which I'm sure there will be just like the previous two MK's. How can anyone say no reason though when they are apart of the story? It seems that NRS is keeping the character reveals in the story to only ones playable, but then like I said they could very well be DLC regardless if they appear in the story or not. Ermac only jobs sometimes, it's usually for story we've seen him destroy people but also lose for ridiculous reasons. But I have more faith now that Shawn is on board, I can already tell he's actually taking MK characters to their better potential and comic book feats ie the Scorpion fight we saw last week when he's teleporting all over the place, THAT is how he should be fighting not using it like once in a blue. Ermac technically would be OP vs most, so I can understand why they're nerfing him. Reptile has always been a jobber. I won't ever say never, to me there's no reason for them to not be in the game(even if they're just NPC's) and let's face it, Fujin is LONG over do to be in an MK game. If he's not playable in this game, I'll be convinced NRS just hates him for whatever reason.

@LawAbidingCitizen Hey dude, curious when did NRS say there won't be NPC's in story this time? Interview or maybe I just forgot when they said this. If that's indeed true, then I guess I'll have to hope some of my favs make it as DLC.
They said there wont be fightable NPC's that are actual previously playable mortal kombat characters. I'm sure generic npcs could still be a thing. There for sure will be cameos.

Also i think we arn't seeing any cameos in any of these trailers, because they don't want people to get the wrong impression like we did with Rain in MKX. when he kicked Kotal off the building in the trailer, everyone thought he'd be playable. so i'm assuming they are trying to avoid that and we wont see cameo's until we actually play the game.

RE: Kitana's race, she's always been sort of vaguely 'exotic' depending on the game and the medium. I think it's fine for them to go with a more Asian look, given the history of the character:

Kitana is initially based on unused MK1 design, named 'Kitsune', where she's clearly Japanese (on the left):


Talisa Soto from the movies is Puerto Rican, and the Kitana in the 3D era looked vaguely modeled after her:


Mortal Kombat Legacy, which was designed to drop with the MK9 reboot, portrayed Kitana, Mileena, and Sindel all as Asian women:




MK9 gave Kitana pretty racially ambiguous features, but definitely not 'white' imo:


MKX is the whitest she's ever looked, but it seemed like they were going for a Persian or Arabic vibe to me with the costuming etc.

So basically it's never been consistent, she seems to have been originally conceived as an Asian character and has been portrayed by an Asian woman in MK media before, and I have no problem with them deciding Kitana and Mileena look Asian going forward if that's what they decide to do.

Did Jax not look very black in MKX? Honest question. That was my favorite design for him. This one is... gonna take a bit of getting used to, at least.
I mean more dominant features so theres no weird ass reach around like with jade or something lmao. If jax wasnt so stereotypical some people would try to say hes indian lmao
