Lamentably, a disturbing few agree with the need for new neural pathway creation... Imminent degenerative brain disease or otherwise.

Seems like you really understand how the world and it's people work.

They've been developing this game for years I'm sure they've tried both the old and new ways and maybe even other methods countless times and this one felt right.

Ppl are so scared of change... just try it first.

Look how long the run mechanic took for Ppl to finally get in mkx... and now it's second nature.

The run mechanic is now gone...for a reason.

"who's next".
• Voice-activated Fatal Blows that are invincible, unblockable and have full-screen range (think: KoF's "Orochi" and his "Mooney Kowloon" super)
• Krushing Blows only for the player trailing in HP
• Auto Fatalities
• Auto Brutalities
• Auto regen HP for the player trailing in HP
• All tournaments to be played on the Swiitch format
• Only tourney sanctioned controllers allowed: Swiitch-motes, Wii balance boards or Dragon's Lair arcade console...

It's nice when more people are playing this game. Not everyone can remember, or enjoy the game, when it involves 100 memory tests every match.
Please you are not doing this for anybody else but you. Sales are the last thing an MK game has to worry about not to mention that the casual players(responsible for about 90% of the sales) don't give a shit about stuff like this. Single Player content and gore is what they care about.

Most of the inputs to amplify the specials are pretty damn simple so i don't know why people are freaking out so much about this. So much drama and panic whenever they change anything. MK9 brought a ton of new mechanics to the franchise and yet people were able to learn and adapt.

I do think this system is silly but it's not a big deal. Yeah memorizing more stuff for a fighting game is annoying but welcome to fighting games lol.

What a day. What a lovely day.
1. NRS isn’t taking any singular opinion here seriously.

2. If the vocal majority is unhappy with the new system they will most likely change it, as Boon has already stated.

3. Thinking NRS is going to pay any attention to a change.org petition is laughable.

Let’s move on.

What is wrong with you guys? You haven't even touched the game yet, what the hell. If you guys are that afraid of change just stick to MKX, you don't need to play a different game if you don't want to.

Your obligatory, hackneyed, reductio ad absurdum response notwithstanding, personally, if my opponent hasn't the inclination to learn anything -- rather, simply wants the game to carry him to an Evo top-8 slot -- I do not want to be playing with / against him or her... In fact, if a game stooped to this abject level, I would not be playing it in the first place!

To demand that games be diluted at their core, just so "everyone" can compete at the same level -- and taken to its ultimate conclusion -- is a species-destroying philosophy to espouse. How are we going to fight the "Machines", if we have all devolved to being dopey drones who are indiscernible from one another -- because we were too scared to let our individual skill and creativity shine--lest we "offend" one another in the process?... Indeed, at such a nadir point, why would we even want to fight...?!

Solution: Implement a "Simple Mode" (see: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3) option, where players can choose a universal "Enhanced" input scheme -- while leaving the default (*either can be delegated the "default" status -- I couldn't care less), varied / dedicated inputs for those who prefer them.

Actually, this is what I've always advocated for, whenever such debates arise: Give both player demographics CHOICE. For I know I cannot win against the din of casual fanaticism -- compromise being the only Gandhi style 'passive resistance' one can avail when confronted with such Spartan madness. The only problem being, that because of the alluded-to zealotry of those who demand game's cede to their needs and their needs alone -- and fascists, paradoxically, always being the most emotionally vulnerable -- "offence" (caused by the implication of being tarred by terms such as "simple") can often result in an Israel-Palestine-like impasse... ¯\_(v_v)_/¯

Good grief. It's not a pretentious essay contest. But you'd be in the running.

"My brain can only hold so much information"

Come on, guy. Is it really that taxing on your mental faculties to remember one more input for a special? It's not like you have to memorise magna carta, it's just B+2.

Am all for trying things out 1st before issuing change petitions, however, we need to stop being so toxic and defensive towards members of the community showing some minor concerns. As a character loyalist, the amplify commands wont cause a problem for me once i memorize the inputs. But that's not the case for someone who likes to play multiple characters.

Not only is it gonna be a barrier for entry lvl players but i believe it will also affect top players, get ready for a lot of "I lost because i input the amplify button for Sonya's projectile instead of Baraka's".

Yet again, That's not something foreign from the highest lvls of play. Top players are notorious for practicing their memory to gain an edge above each others, wither it's general matchup knowledge (string gaps, frame traps, blocks tuns..,etc) or even something like toasty commands.

The question boils down to " Do we really need a memory practice on something as simple as enhancing/amplifying a special move?" This is where i don't think OP committed a crime for wanting to change an unnecessary complexity and return things to it's universal simple form it always had in the previous builds. He can even argue that asking for change while the game still under development is better than waiting for release whereas change can take months of waiting for patches to change anything that isn't a game breaking bug.

overall, I wish we can step up our general discussion level above the "lol noob" tier posts and give everyone in the community a chance to sound their opinion instead of trying to immediately alienate them with shitposting and memes.

Not everyone here is doing that. Some just disagree and thats okay too. I might sound old lol, but if THIS is the execution barrier entry level players need to overcome, they really have it made. Back in my day, it was one frame links and that was hard, for me. But, it gave me something to strive for. In my own experience, having everything made simple and diluted is not rewarding and leaves you wanting for something deeper.

I get what you mean, but lets not get crazy please. Its just a matter of muscle memory. If you do it 100 times, you will remember how to do it easily. Its not like you have to remember multiple line commands or even something similar, just a few more button presses.
