What would your final roster look like now?

Mine would be:

1: Scorpion
2: Sub-Zero
3: Raiden
4: Skarlet
5: Geras
6: Sonya Blade
7: Baraka (these characters got confirmed during Reveal Day)

8: Kabal (heavily teased during Reveal Day)
9: Liu Kang
10: Kitana (they are obviously coming back, both appear in the Game Play Reveal trailer as well)
11: Kung Lao (same as above)
12: Cassie Cage (appears briefly in the Behind-the-Scenes video)
13: Kronika (most likely final boss with a playable form, just like Shinnok had)
14: Johnny Cage (appears very briefly in the Behind-the-Scenes video doing a Fatality, in the background of the Special Force stage and with the other Cage/Blade characters already confirmed, that shouldn't be so surprising now.)

15: Rain (appears in-game in the Konquer mode background.)
16: Kano (appears in-game in the Local fights background.)

17 Kotal Kahn (might be important story-wise and popular enough to come back, also wouldn't mind having a talk with Shao Khan.)
18: Fujin (heavily requested character, might be important story-wise.)
19: Takeda
20: Jacqui
21: Kung Jin (Cassie can't be the only one returning, might (still) be important story-wise but their popularity varies.)

22: Kenshi (it's freaking Kenshi.)
23: Tanya (they tend to keep a DLC character from the previous MK game, usually from the 3D era.)

24: New Character: (perhaps Kano's son.)
25: Shao Kahn (just like Goro in MK X, he is part of the 25-slots roster, despite his pre-holder only condition.) (if not, could be a second new character.)

Some extra notes:
• There is 7 female characters, one more than what MKX had at launch.
• My roster has pretty safe choices overall, just like MKX had.
• Most characters were chosen because of their potential story relevance and/or popularity.

I want to see at least half the MKX noobs return. Ideally for me it would be Cassie, Takeda, Kotal and Erron.

Beyond that, I don't care what the rest looks like. I'm happy enough with Sub-Zero and Kabal.

(however should I try to go with what I think NRS will do... then jacqui will be in if they're sitting out jax. Tanya will be in to be in cahoots with rain and his forces. And considering the devs hard on for Quan, he'll probably be in too.)

The guest characters really throw a wrench in the roster. As even with this list you're still missing series mainstays such as Sektor, Cyrax, Jax, and Ermac.

I think there will be more classic characters than 3d era or MKX newbies, the story of MK11 involves the history of old MK Games. I am waiting for the reveals of Jax, Jade, Ermac, Mileena and Kenshi..

18.Reptile (if Baraka made it in the final roster, we can expect Reptile too to be in)
19.Kotal Kahn (he was still the Outworld ruler in MKX, so, it's pretty logical he be in this game for story mode purposes)
20.Kenshi (no reason to have him out of this game)
21.Takeda (if Kenshi is in, we can expect Takeda too)
22.Noob Saibot (fans demanding his return, and he is very popular)
23.Sareena (it's time for her to be part of the main roster again)
24.Erron Black (Kotal ally and very cool character, too cool to be left out !)
25.New character (due the leaks, I think will be Kotal's right hand , replacing D'vorah)

Plus bonus:

26. Shao Kahn (pretty obvious !)

I imagine there will be so many story NPCs. I can't see them bringing all the Kotal gang to be playable (even Kotal is not 100%). Same for kombat kids. All of them will be in the story mode. But who will be playable is another thing

I just miss D'Vorah, but I'd rather have Frost instead, and I think Sindel will come back.
Besides, I heard Sub does not have ice clones anymore...maybe they gave it to Frost if that's right ?

I want Li Mei, Havik, Bo and/or other 3D era characters. But I do realize that they must have chosen most of the characters with gear in mind. For example, I can't think of 3 iconic elements in Li Mei's design. Okay, there's the hat she had in Deception and... that's it.

On the other hand, I can easily think of 3 gear elements for Kabal - his respirator mask, the oxygen tank on his back, and the hook swords.

The same applies to almost all 3D era characters - they are not gear friendly. The classic characters have much more iconic and customizable elements.

Wasn’t dvorah quote important to the story in MKX? I think she may return. I think Erron Black was both popular and important to the story too, so I think he’ll return.

Well If the story does not focus as much on Outworld, then Kotal and his crew are less likely.
D'vorah is not as relevant either since I think Brotherhood of Shadow's story line is probably over.
But who knows what they want to do with her story wise, and she is a good rival for Cassie ( Beside Kano).

So this only leaves me with ELEVEN more picks for my ideal roster (if the base rosters does end up being 25). If I really had it my way, Baraka, Kabal, Kung Lao, Sonya and Johnny wouldn't be in. What the actual fuck is Kabal gonna add to the story? Or Baraka for that matter? The other three have solid arguments as to why they should be in, but I'm sick to death of seeing them at this point.

Anyway, who I'd fill the rest of the roster with:

21. Quan Chi (he's a necromancer, his whole character is to cheat death. Don't @ me)

I'm not too sure about D'vorah. You're right about Erron though.

Jade had that pro player listing her as his main, just like Sonic Fox with Rain, but that could be just a troll who knows.
She will come back, I don't doubt that.

As for Smoke, there is that picture that looks like him on the menu...

But I admit that's really light, and migth just be a generic ninja to illustrate this menu.
It does not have any new design unlike Rain, it's quite plain.
But that's worth mentionning.
Smoke is in for sure for me anyway.
