MKF30

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Qonquest was actually really good, I watched all of the episodes, it was a really gun show.

And yeah you are right about the rating and you got a point regarding MKA.

Well like I said earlier, the MK movies didn't exactly followed the lore one for one, hence they have thier own canon, it's just that they were still very true to it and you could they were MK movies. So yes comic films from Marvel and DC also don't go one for one with their source material but they are still very true to it.
Thanks yeah, MK C for what it was wasn't that bad. I mean they filmed in Florida, had a super low budget and it was cool that they brought back some of the same MK actors from the movies like Chris Casamassa(Scorpion) and ironically J.J. Perry who played Sub-Zero, winded up playing Scorpion in MK Annihilation lol. Also, Jeffrey Meek was a great Raiden but also a fantastic Shao Kahn, much better and darker than the one in Annihilation.

I think DC is closer than Marvel is, Marvel tends to lighten shit up compared to the comics(which while compared to DC are lighter but darker than the Marvel movies) DC is just dark in general lol books, games and movies even animation. Just watch Flashpoint and Killing Joke among Red Hood and many others you'll see what I mean.

Hey, comic book movies aren't really as off as some video game into movie adaptations were. They may tell completely new stories, but what was par the course for comic books as well, seeing how they ran for decades and went through many reboots. Can't really go off the rails more than that.
I mean, they don't replace speedster Flash with some average Joe kickboxer...

Video game adaptations though, hoo boy. Just see Uwe Boll's shooting spree (Bloodrayne, Dungeon Siege, Hitman) and despair.

I think it says something that DoA was one of the most truthful to a source movies based on vidya.
Yeah I mean for the most part I would say comic films are closer to the comics than vid game movies, I agree but sometimes now days they stray off or have horrible miscastings ie( Ryan Reynolds for GL and the chick playing Starfire in Titans coming this year) One thing that bugs me a little bit, when Marvel does it strays off it's "funny and light" when DC does it it's "too dark" but what people(the casual movie goers dont know) is that the comics of DC typically are darker than Marvel's as well, as a comic fan besides gamer for more than 30+ years. I can easily confirm this. I mean just compare Injustice to MVC for example, they're alternate universe stories of course but even their mainstream universe I'd feel the same way. Not saying it's a bad thing per-se I mean TDK worked perfectly yet Joker as we all know never had a painted face, he fell in a vat of chemicals but Ledger's performance was arguably the best out of any comic film, easily at least for a villain that's for damn sure.

I hear ya, though. I think video game movies would do better if they followed the first MK movie and like you said DOA's path, however DOA the movie while true to the source wasn't that great sadly, I think Paul Anderson took his time on MK and it showed. But yeah I would say out of most you have MK, DOA, Resident Evil(with the exception of Alice), Silent Hill.

Yeah for a low budgest show MKC was really good. And yeah I've seen some really dark stuff in DC comics, shows and movies. The Batman 90's cartoon was pretty dark for example. And you're right regarding the Marvel and DC directions.

I always thought my standards were kind of low, because I actually really liked that show. It was the first thing I thought of when they released Takeda for mkx...since that was the name of the guy who got possessed by Scorpion early on in Conquest. I kind of thought it was a reference when they said Takeda was trained by Scorpion lol.

lol yeah that is kind of funny with the whole Scorpion and Takeda thing between the show and the game's universe lol. Oh I think there's a lot worse shows out there lol, I mean not saying MK C was award winning calibur stuff but it was on both cable and regular TV(that's very rare) and was on at 2 in the morning on CBS 2 Saturday into Sunday mornings lol, and on at 10 pm after WWE on cable. Don't ask me how I remember that lol, they put it on late on purpose due to the violence and occasional nipple popping shirts.:D

It was after WCW Nitro, not WWE RAW.

Greg Russo -- the script writer for the movie -- said that the leak is actually based off of an earlier version of the script, yet they still managed to get things wrong. Like the fact that Liu Kang is a ninja and Jax's last name is Bridges.

Apparently he is a fan of MK and he said that things like that wouldn't fly with his script. Expect the movie to be closer to source material.

He said some characters have been dropped (probably Drahmin and the like) and of course there are *obvious* missing characters, which is a hint at Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Unfortunately, nothing has been green-lit, so we are going to have to wait who-knows-how-long until we see anything.

So Cole Turner was actually a real thing? lmaoooo
Man if he still ends up in the movie as the main lead that's gonna be fucking hysterical.

some heroes are born, some made, some wondrous
people are so negative.. no one believes in anything being good but jump on the bandwagon about something sucking.... James Wan is a cool dude, the film is going to be at worse... decent.

The thing I see most people worrying about is whether or not these movies and the characters are going to be true to how it is in the games. For example, this "leak" showed a premise that was not true to the games' canon lore or who the characters are. As I described it, it seems more like a bad fanfic where the writer tries to push in their own OC's as being the main heroes in an already established world with already established characters, but also changing that world and those characters to something they aren't.

If it doesn't represent the world and characters of Mortal Kombat well enough, then a lot of fans aren't going to embrace it.

What @HeavyNorse said, it's not that we are negative for the sake of being negative, it's just that this news that thankfully have been indeed confirmed to be not true, indicate on a movie that goes off way too much out of the direction that games and the previous movies had. That's all.
