Yeah, I’m not playing as much atm... still grieving lol. Vegeta nerf hit my team hard. Still catch a few people sleeping, but almost nothing Nappa can do now is actually legit unless he uses both Vegeta (for dami, which is otherwise avg) and KBuu (more dami and pressure which is now otherwise non-existent).

For anyone interested, that setup can work but it’s hard work and janky af... costly drops e’rywhere. Utilising KBuu gives Nappa some of the best corner pressure in the game mind you... Maybe I just got too used to my OP team....:DOGE

Might include KBuu in next team (why not?) but gonna un-main Nappa for a bit :(

Hopefully see y’all in the Ginyu/Blugeta/Vegito/KBuu/FBuu/Piccolo threads, maybe.... indecision, here we come!

Actually partially excited about starting over, but a little salty nonetheless.

Hey for those of us who also wanted to run a team of Nappa and his two supports but haven’t been keeping up at all, mind breaking down the shorthand of what changed about Vegeta’s assist that ruined everything for Napz? It’s because they can deflect or something once they block it now and aren’t locked down any more I presume, right?

It’s that issue, but more that you can react to Vegeta covered saiba-summon with SD for full punish, so no guaranteed saiba-pressure start without KBuu.

But Vegeta assist gives him great dami, as the only one to convert from lvl1.

So basically, he now:

- uses KBuu+Vegeta - Optimal (my opinion) but janky af. Not worth the jank online, so...

- uses KBuu+Beam - GREAT pressure, Good dami. He can’t convert from lvl1, but can summon-saibi mid combo in the corner. He actually becomes a corner beast here. (probably best option, just not my thing rn, ima Vegeta fanboy see, maybe when the salt dissolves)

- uses Vegeta+Beam - GREAT damage, 0 legit saiba-summon on block, but might catch the uninitiated sleeping on the variable gaps (before/after beam). But ultimately, not legit. 100% escapable, and the smallest error in timing makes it punishable.

Imo - any other combination suffers these problems but worse (happy to be proven wrong tho).

Nappa’s greatest asset is now MU unfamiliarity. And better buttons (except no 6f) than people expect.

My low-tier suspicion is that he’s viable (only just), but dependent on assists I don’t currently want to use.

Awesome, thanks a ton for the stellar breakdown! My only question left is do any beams cover saibamen planting attempts off block pressure or did you mean something else when you say KBuu + beam = great pressure?

Played a bit this week and got my rank dropped from yellow back to green.

Seems the player base is consolidating to competitive and my days of fraudulence are over

Nope, only guaranteed saiba-summon on block is now KBuu assist.

Good beams cover a chunk of the summon time, but there’ll be a gap. Very simply, the opponent should poke before beam. Best case (for Nappa) beam hits, worst case opponent’s full combo.

If they take several beam assists to the face (Nappa can’t vanish while planting, so no conversion from that), they wait out the beam, then it’s their turn. Difference compensated.

Lastly, a small mistiming (either way) makes the gap poke-able.

Basically Nappa’s cons outweigh opponents pros (excepting mu unfamiliarity, again), in both likelihood and consequence.

Been playing for a while. But no where near competitively competent yet. Just curious about my team comp and any possible pointers for optimal combos. I'm using:

Bardock / Tien / K.buu

I put this team together after the recent patch. K.buu is my weakest character atm. Just curious if anyone has used any of these characters together before, and if there's any decent assist combos that anyone may have found. I've found a couple with Tien's volleyball using Bardock/K.buu. But I dunno how to use the others yet with eatch other. If anyone has any tips to level up I'd greatly appreciate it.

Tien is a discount beam so getting them to the corner with bardock and ending in a kd whether it be from 236m or the 2H should give you enough time during your landing frames to activate tien at the same time as you do your level 1 super (Saiyan spirit). The beam should hit after the super allowing you to juggle with 5LLL sd into JLL > 236L > Saiyan spirit again (if you want to go for damage - but they can tech out after keep in mind)

Or off the beam you can dragon rush super again and keep them more grounded (they can still tech but are closer to the ground giving you more options

any DBFZ fans playing Blazblue Cross Tag beta right now?
Game looks hella fun, if you enjoy anime 2D fighters
netcode seems pretty decent

Speaking about buffs and nerfs, I don't see Beerus being buffed or nerfed too much. Just a minor buff regarding the 2M. He's still the same with 2M having still the low priority problem.

Played it the whole weekend, but didn't bother going into the netcode. We;ll see if they'll mess the netcode again. Game is fun, and I already found my first main there.

Party Battle mode was really fun. Bummed it's only like a one day event. And Z union battles (FighterZ Cup) runs for 6 days. It's essentially just ranked except you earn LP (league points) for your Z union instead of BP.

It was only one day??? Lame...No wonder i just heard about it, and it was from a random Google Search. Who's on the promotion team on this game??? C'mon DBFZ, do better....

I only found out it was live via DBFZ discord. But yeah it's kinda whack. It's an extremely fun mode imo and should be permanent.

Basically, you team up with 2 other people to fight in a series of 7 battles against an AI that gets more broken the further you advance. Level 6-7 you will die from one shot lol. You can also equip items from story mode to aid in battle. Lvl 6 defensive items like health regen, health up, and defense seem to be the best options.

That does seem fun but i really dont fuck with Story mode.....ugh lol

I guess it gives you an incentive to finish story mode, and does seem like a fun mode which is what we need. But for only one day and no promotion for it what so ever? Piss poor indeed.

Interesting.

Didn't bother with the Story much, as I didn't progress this much. Had other games in mind to take care of.

Gameplay vid here

Hmmmmm....*thinks*....FIRST IMPRESSIONS!

He has A.Gohan's low medium, AND an overhead (from what it looks like) attack that can cause some sick ass mixups. But the low medium does not have alot of range. He can fake you out in the air with his Commando Sword attack, or use his air jump move to get in.

So far he's the only character with a counter attack. He has the Blue visible version of A.Gohan's invisible Ki Blast that can either hit up close or far. His auto L looks really fast. He does not really need much difficulty to do some combo damage. His level 3 can be done on ground or in air.

His level 1 Commando Sword Super hits harder the closer the attack with full screen range. His other level 1 seems to be only an air super ?Question mark?

The only negative I see is his weak ass assist.

Overall....he seems like a crazy fun character and a beefed up version of A.Gohan. EVERYBODY is gonna pick this character up, hands down!

Whoop there it is!

Now where's my Fused Zamasu gameplay????

Ya he's going to be extremely popular. I don't care though, I've been waiting to team him up with my SSJ Vegita main for what feels like forever. Need a third char to compliment though.
